I have Nine Lives

Chapter 133: Immunity to the feline knock-out gas

Chapter 133: Immunity to the feline knock-out gas

Felix's situation made all of the moles panic, even the cool as a cucumber, one-eyed buff mole wanted to clear his one good eye to make sure he was seeing things right.

They couldn't believe that Felix was immune to the special gas that the humans invented and modified specifically for felines and the fox tribe.

If their eyes worked properly, Felix was a cat, right?

"Damn it..."

The one-eyed mole was the intelligence leader and the best in the mole tribe, being the smartest and strongest informant under the fox tribe, however, he was stumped by Felix's ability to withstand the serum made by the smartest people on the planet.

The one-eyed mole knew that Felix was rather resistant due to the previous events where he kidnapped him, but he didn't think he would become immune!

He knew how technologically advanced the humans were, so he never thought that some primitive like Felix could withstand anything coming from the humans.

But it seemed that brute strength triumphed technology in this situation!

There were hundreds of thousands of enemies left, so Felix knew that he wouldn't be able to defeat all of them easily, he needed the help of the others!

How could he get rid of all of the steam that was circulating and surrounding them?

He thought for a few seconds before his eyes lit up as he told Willy:

"Help me absorb all of the steam!"

Willy was reluctant as he felt that the steam was supposed to hurt Felix, but he had to do what he said.

The small wisp fully concentrated as he used his absorbing abilities to take all of the steam and run it through Felix's body, making Felix absorb it quickly.

Felix's face started to move as his body cramped up due to the sudden influx of gas that entered his system, the gas wasn't meant to be lethal in the first place, but it could paralyze heavily through extensive exposure.

What Felix was doing now was practically injecting the paralyzing gas into his veins, normally this would have paralyzed him for months or even years, but his superior physique nullified all of the negative effects as it cleansed his insides and destroyed the gas.

The one-eyed mole leader thought that Felix was seeking death, the moment all of the gas in the surroundings converged on him and disappeared only for his jaw to hit the ground after everything settled down and he saw Felix glaring at him with his electrifying emerald eyes.

He knew that Felix did that to save his allies so he wouldn't be at a big numerical disadvantage, but even if he tried to stop him, he just couldn't approach him without the fear of his head being lopped from his shoulders.

He was a schemer, and he wouldn't put himself in a precarious position, even if he was the only one who could have done something there.

He felt that his life was too important, and because of that, he lost the best opportunity to deal with Felix.

Felix took a glance around, seeing that Diorno's anger was starting to explode as his shaking body turned still, however, it wasn't because the gas struck him to the point he couldn't move anymore.

His anger overflowed as a feral smile appeared on his face, and his aura transformed into the visage of a lion opening his maw ready to devour his prey.

Diorno's aura was like a lit fuse that finally reached its destination and exploded, creating a chain reaction that led to Landers recovering his wits and unleashing his aura as well.

However, even though this happened, Manitola and Lindo couldn't wake up, they were way weaker than Felix and the other two, and unlike Felix who had a special body, they were both pretty normal.

Seeing that two of them were still downed made the moles a little bit more courageous even though they had two monsters in front of them ready to tear them to shreds, they thought that they would be able to capture the downed duo, only to find out that the moment they took a few steps towards them they became mincemeat.

Diorno glared at every mole that his eyes could capture, even though he wasn't the best father, but he would die first before he would let someone touch his son!

The moles realized that Diorno was protecting the downed duo as if he was a feral guard dog. While Landers was slowly cutting their numbers down with precise and deadly claw attacks.

In this underground environment, it was better to not use energy attacks or they would bury themselves.

Felix started to attack with deadly precision. After he saw the other two waking up and making sure that the downed lovers wouldn't get injured or captured.

His attacks slowly thinned out the population of the moles along with Landers's ones, the one-eyed mole was using this chaotic situation to escape as he mingled around the immense crowd of moles while giving out the last orders.

As long as he lived, the moles would be able to rebuild and repopulate with him at the helm.

But if he died, he knew that the moles would slowly fade into obscurity and disappear. He was the person that made the mole tribe what it was today!

But the farther he got away from his people. The more frightened he felt, it was like something was following him, but he didn't know what or how.

Suddenly the ground below him started to shake, he felt something was wrong as he remembered every detail of the underground area they were in, and no one dug any holes into the ground further below.

He felt sweat trickle down his body as a paw dug out of the ground and grasped him firmly, making him unable to struggle out no matter how hard he tried.

His single eye widened in horror as he saw Felix getting out of the ground and smiling at him.

He tried to continue struggling but no matter what he did, Felix's iron grip didn't budge at all, making him stuck there without any ability to retaliate.

"Remember me?"

Felix's voice traveled directly into the man's ears, making him shiver as he laughed awkwardly and said:

"Mr cat, there should be no grievances between us... I was just working on the orders of the foxes. They are your biggest enemies, not us we are just tools being used by them so please spare us!"

Diorno snorted hearing the man's pleading attempts, he had seen countless such acts from the moment he stepped on the battlefield, and he knew that the man was lying, he could care less if the others were spared, and he was doing it to save his own skin!

The other moles understood that fighting more would result in casualties on their part, and nothing would happen to Landers and Diorno, they did try a few more times to capture Lindo and Manitola to have some leverage against them, but they failed miserably, losing a few more thousands of moles in the process.

They all threw their miniature weapons aside as they put their hands up and surrendered, they were informants, not warriors. So they did the smart thing and gave up while they still had people.

Felix had quite the grudge with the little person tightly kept in his paw but he didn't squish him to the death because he understood that he would be useful, and he would rather let his fate rest into the hands of Landers or Diorno who had more awareness about such things.

Landers waved his hands and said:

"Everyone should return to whatever they were doing before, but instead of spying for the foxes you should understand who you should spy for now."

The moles grudgingly made their way back to their posts, while they would have wanted to try again and escape, they knew that their leader was currently in the enemies' hands, and without him, they would lose a whole lot of prestige and future potential.

Diorno and Landers kept watching over Lindo and Manitola while they were knocked out and motioned towards Felix so he could approach with the one-eyed mole.

Felix made his way towards them as the one-eyed mole kept his mouth shut until Felix was close to the duo.

"So I guess you will want me to swear on oath on my ancestors binding my tribe with yours, right?"

Diorno snorted as he made a claw using his hand and slowly approached the mole's head, ready to rip it off, only for Landers to grasp his shoulder and shake his hand, indicating that he would still be useful alive. And in the first place, he didn't even say the oath yet!

Diorno was very angry as his son's life was threatened in this situation, he knew that on the battlefield things could go awry and that maybe his son wouldn't come alive, but that was when he wasn't present!

He couldn't watch as his son died in front of his eyes and especially in a situation where he couldn't do anything.

This enraged him quite a lot as it made him remember some painful memories about his wife.

The mole leader shook and sweated intensely in Felix's grasp as he sighed after watching Diorno put his claw away, realizing that he would live to see the day tomorrow.

He closed his eye as the light of his own hex energy mixed with something else engulfed him making Felix ready to squish him only for Lindo to put a hand over his head and say:

"Don't do anything this must be his way of communicating with his ancestors and creating the oath."

The one-eyed mole then slowly opened his eye as he looked around him and gave a smile while he said:

"From today onwards, the mole tribe shall be under the lion's tribe beck and call!"
