Chapter 636: Chapter 630: God’s Commission

When designing, the designer needs to master at least hundreds of properties of clothing materials. While considering Finn Lewis’s requirements, they also need to incorporate additional features common in high-end clothing, like protective capabilities.

Keep in mind, this isn’t Earth. There’s a multitude of different clothing materials available here, which makes it even harder to master. However, what Finn doesn’t know is that although his chosen design shop is the most expensive, it has never done business with anyone before.

Clickbait exists not only on Earth but also here, and the prices here are even higher than those of the most famous brands.

“Yay, yay, yay!” Somewhere far from Finn, a young woman suddenly jumped off her bed, cheering enthusiastically. Startled, the other woman in the room blurted out, “Emily, what’s gotten into you? Did you take the wrong medicine?”

“You must be the one who took the wrong medicine. Hehe, I’m telling you, someone has finally visited my shop and just placed an order.” Emily swiftly responded.

“Pfft…You kidding me? Which poor sucker placed an order in your shop? You’re not pulling my leg, are you?” The puzzled woman stared at her disdainfully.

“Humph! You don’t believe me, do you?! I’ve told you, my designs are the best in the Federation, so of course, they’re pricey. This is just the beginning, the prices will definitely go higher! Do you believe me now?!” Emily arrogantly exclaimed.

“Alright, alright, I believe you. But they need to pay first…” The other woman exhaled.

“Beep-beep.” A soft tone echoes, signaling someone calling for Emily, “Yay! This must be the person who ordered. I’m going to get my first order now.” Emily immediately lunged for her large bed.

“Let me see too.” The roommate leaned in out of curiosity. As soon as the connection was established and the conversation started, the woman raised an eyebrow and said, “I must say, your client is far, far away.”

“No biggie, there’s nowhere we can’t deliver to.” Emily quickly replied. Then she furrowed her brow, “He may not be the handsomest, but this man is very appealing.”

“Appealing? Are you infatuated? Where is the appeal exactly?” The roommate refuted.

“There you go, not understanding. This man clearly hasn’t had any genetic beauty enhancements like the other men in our school who look effeminate and try to outdo women in physical beauty. This natural, raw beauty is what’s genuinely beautiful!” defended Emily.

“Okay girl, you are totally right. Whatever you say, it’s like the Gospel truth.” The roommate quickly surrendered, but after looking at the personal data and the face of the man on the screen, she couldn’t deny that Emily’s argument was compelling. Although he wasn’t stereotypically perfect, he radiated an irresistible charm and masculinity.

“These requirements are quite high.” Glancing through the specifications, Emily furrowed her brows. Since she dared to open this shop, she wasn’t just scamming people. But meeting Finn’s requirements wasn’t so simple given his appearance and physical traits.

After some thought, she finally responded, “Designing isn’t an issue. But let’s make it clear, the price written on my shop is only the design cost, not the final price of the garment. If the materials used are expensive, the total cost will be much higher.”

“Are you insane? You’re going to charge more? 20,000 star credits! Aren’t you afraid your first customer will run away?” The roommate asked in hushed surprise.

“What do you know? Look! He replied… Oh my, he’s got deep pockets.” Both Emily and her roommate were taken aback by the quick reply, which simply read: Have enough money.

“Haha, I told you your customer is a sucker, didn’t believe me, huh? Now do you believe me? Such a prodigal, and he still negotiates like that! Isn’t he just asking people to jack up prices?” The roommate burst out laughing.

“You’re so irritating! Is that how you speak about your bestie? And am I that kind of person? At most, I’ll only charge him based on the material cost. I won’t arbitrarily jack up other costs, and since he can easily look up the prices of the materials, I can’t possibly overcharge him too much. How could you say that about your best friend?” Emily shot her roommate an irritated glance.

“Aren’t you absurd? Even Moon Travis didn’t dare to ask for such an outrageous design fee.” Nearly choking on her own spit, she said, “Could you possibly be more shameless, and yet dignified about it?”

“That’s different! Sure, Moon Travis is a top-tier brand, but they mass-produce their items. My creations are unique, of course, I’m going to charge more.” Emily argued confidently.

“Alright, you’ve got a point. You can say whatever you want, I hope you make a fortune off this guy, who knows when the next sucker will come along!” The despondent roommate said, throwing herself onto her bed.

“Don’t you dare jinx it!” Emily said, then added, “anyway, sir, when do you need it?”

“I need it for an auction in two days,” Finn promptly responded.

“Two days? That’s too short notice. If you need it in two days, there’ll be a rush fee,” Emily stated firmly.

“How much?” Finn asked— if you’ve already spent 80 million, why would you quibble over a bit more?

“5,000 star credits!” Emily shot back without hesitation.

Finn chuckled, “This is indeed a lion’s roar! Well, if she dares to ask, then I dare to pay.” He didn’t even hesitate before typing back, “No problem.”

Emily was flabbergasted for a moment. She had seen many spendthrifts in her time but never expected her first client to be such a monumental spendthrift. She had asked for a 5,000-star credit rush charge, and they promptly agreed without hesitation.
