"That's a relief. I thought I didn't make it in time." Keith had been here for three days at most. In his mind, there was a clock ticking down. The more time he took, the more danger Scarlet's friend was in. 

"Was that the only thing you have in your mind?!" Scarlet retorted. 

"Kinda." Keith chuckled. 

"I was the one who tried to ruin your reputation!" Why aren't you mad at me?! Why aren't you yelling at me?!

"Oh. I don't really care about that." Keith shook his head. 

"Aren't you mad about how I tried to singe you?"

"It's cool! I used healing magic." Keith pumped his fist. With some healing magic, that burned spot was healed quickly. 

"Why aren't you mad?!" Scarlet couldn't hold it in as she continued to ask.

"That's because I forgive you." Keith smiled. 

"Eh?" 

"You're rushing over here like a madman, and telling me all this shows you're remorseful about your actions. I forgive you." There was no point in holding anger over the girl. That tired expression showed how worried she was about him. 

"..." Scarlet was going to cry. How could you be like this? That smile of his reminded her so much of Selk. How could he be so forgiving in this situation? However, something else resounded at the campsite. 

GRRRRRR

"..." That one sound had caused everyone to go silent. Scarlet's cheeks turned red as she held her stomach. 

Keith laughed, "Haha!"

"Can you not laugh?" Scarlet glared. How could he laugh in this situation?

"Did you have anything to eat?"

"No, I didn't take any breaks. I came here as quickly as I could."

"You didn't eat anything for two days?" Keith stopped laughing, startled by her words.

"..." That silence was intense. 

How were you able to move like that for two days? Not eating for two days would have caused his reactions to slow down. No wonder she was so sluggish. 

"If you run all the way here, have some of this." Keith handed her the stew. He had prepared this for their meal. 

"...Thank you." Scarlet didn't mind as she took it. As she drank it, a warmness seeped into her body. Delicious.

"Eh?" In a matter of seconds, the stew had disappeared from her bowl. She turned to Keith and asked, "...Can I get more?"

"Sure." Keith scooped some more for her. It was a calm and peaceful meal as the two ate. After finishing the food, Scarlet slowly began to drift off. 

"Go to bed. I will be on the lookout."

"But-" "It's fine. Get your rest first." Keith was gentle as he placed the blanket over her body. 

"...Okay." Scarlet drifted off. Keith was going to head outside, but he noticed something odd. Scarlet was holding his wrist tightly. Eh? He was going to move,

"..." Hah, I will have to use mana sense. There was no way he could go out now.

"Ngh." The next day, Scarlet slowly woke up from her sleep. When she did, 

I feel refreshed. It had been a long time since she had felt like this. After Selk was bedridden, she had never gotten a good wink of sleep. Today was different. A lot was off her shoulders. As she walked out of the tent, she saw Keith cooking again.

"Breakfast will be ready in a few minutes." 

"Thank you." Scarlet sat beside him and watched him work. The grin on Keith's face was blinding. It was childlike and also full of curiosity. How could he make such a face? 

"Is that your familiar?" Talking with Keith the entire time, she didn't notice the white owl perched atop the tree. 

"Mmhmm. She's Aria. She was my father's familiar, but she's my familiar now."

"I see." So this is the blizzard owl. 

"Alright, here's today's breakfast. One omelet with sausage and potatoes on the side!" Keith handed a plate over to Scarlet. 

Aria already had a plate as she nibbled. Scarlet followed suit as she took a bite. 

"Like it?"

"Mmhmm! The meat tastes so different."

"That's because I smoked it." Keith grinned.

"You use smoke for cooking?" "Mmhmm." Keith started to explain the process of smoking. After their meal,

"Alright. I have to go now."

"Hmm?" Where do you need to go? Before she could question, she heard something flying towards them. And when she turned her head, she was shocked.

"Dragon Bee!" Scarlet was prepared to fight. But Keith waved his hand, "You don't need to worry about anything! They're friendly!"
