A Husband For Killer Mom

Chapter 159 - 159 Ch. 159 The Brothers’ Talk

159 Ch. 159 The Brothers’ Talk

Richard decided to walk over to Anxia with his footsteps echoing into Anxia’s ears.

Hearing someone walking closer made Anxia instantly snap out of her reverie. She stood up while straightening her back and putting on a cheerful face.

“Xia Xia, you took so long. Oh, where’s Michele?” Richard walked up to his wife while looking left and right as if he was looking for his sister-in-law.

“She’s back in her room,” Anxia remembered her promise to tell Richard anything if something happened. But this time, Anxia wanted to hide it.

“Then why are you still here? You don’t want to come back to me?”

“I…” strangely, Anxia’s stepped backward as Richard approached her.

“Why are you avoiding me? Are you still mad at me?”

Anxia shook her head quickly but didn’t dare to look at her husband. She was afraid, and her guilt for her past sins began to resurface to gnaw at her. She knew that Richard loved his family very much, and she knew that Richard must also treasure Michele as his sister-in-law.

Richard could understand his wife’s hesitation because he could more or less read her thoughts. With a slow and gentle approach, Richard closed the distance between the two and wrapped one arm around Anxia’s slender waist. He lifted his wife’s chin with the other hand to see a pair of her beautiful pearl-like eyes.

.....

“Xia Xia, I love you. It doesn’t matter what your past was like or what you’ve done—I love you. And I won’t let you go. Remember this well. Don’t you ever forget it.”

Richard shifted his hand from Anxia’s chin to the back of the girl’s head. Then Richard gave his wife a firm kiss on the forehead to convey the sincerity of his reclamation.

How magical. Listening to Richard’s expressions of love and getting a kiss on her forehead can eliminate all her worries and fears. Anxia held the hem of Richard’s shirt tightly and buried her head in her husband’s chest, enjoying his masculine scent.

“Let’s go back, shall we?” invited Richard while holding his wife’s hand to walk to their room.

After ensuring that Anxia was sleeping beside him, Richard got up and slowly got out of bed. He had received a text from Raymond a while ago wanting to talk to him. He left and headed to the reading room, where his brother was waiting for him while drinking wine.

“You asked me to drink because you couldn’t sleep?” Richard asked in a relaxed and joking tone. He still didn’t know why Raymond wanted to talk to him in the middle of the night, so he acted normal.

“It’s been a long time since we drank together. I wonder if your tolerance is still as bad as before?”

Richard rolled his eyes at his brother’s teasing. “Just so you know, my tolerance has increased lately.”

“Oh yeah? Then let me tell you something. My tolerance has greatly increased over the past three years, and I believe you will be the first to get drunk as always.”

“Hahaha… so funny. Is that something you should be proud of?”

Clink! Richard and Raymond both toasted each other before drinking the wine in each glass.

“So, what do you want to talk about?”

“Michele already admitted it to me.”

“Admit what?”

“She said you caught her bullying your wife.”

“She did?”

Raymond laughed at the astonishment of his twin brother. “Well, she cried for making you angry. Brother Richie, you must reduce the tension in your facial muscles whenever you scold someone. Otherwise, you will make everyone cry when you reprimand people.”

“Okay, my bad. But I will not apologize.”

“I know. She deserved it.” Raymond’s sudden unexpected remark caused Richard to raise an eyebrow. “Now you know I choose you over my wife in this regard. You are my number one.”

Richard shuddered at that as if a sissy was stroking his chest. “Stop that. I got goosebumps hearing that from you.” Richard’s complaint made Raymond chuckle.

“So?”

“If Michele doesn’t tell you, I won’t tell you either,” came his unwavering answer.

“Whoever said there shouldn’t be secrets between us? Someone insisted on forcing me to tell him before I acted, even though I was sure I could save Michele alone at that time.”

“…”

“Now that I think about it, what did I ask for his help? I should have done everything myself, so my wife would only think of me. But instead, he made my wife owe him a life, and now he made her cry. I feel―”

“Okay, okay. I’ll tell you,” cut Richard, unable to hear the nagging of his twin brother. “Do you remember when we first met Michele on the highway? That time our driver almost hit her.”

“Yeah. There was a knife stuck in her abdomen.”

“That knife belonged to my wife.”

“…”

“Anxia… She would have killed Michele for real if we hadn’t crossed paths with your wife then.” Richard glanced at his brother, trying to read what Raymond was thinking. But Raymond didn’t react and just kept a straight face. “Rei?”

“Since when did you know that?”

“Just now. When Michele threatened her, she said everything.”

Hearing his twin brother’s answer, Raymond poured a full glass of wine, then gulped it down in one gulp. “I’ve always felt proud to have a better alcohol tolerance than you. I wish my tolerance were so low that I could get drunk and forget about this.”

Richard patted Raymond on the shoulder encouragingly.

“You married a killer,” stated Raymond, causing Richard’s pat to stop midway. “Does our father know about it?”

“He does. But he doesn’t know that Anxia almost killed his daughter-in-law once.”

Raymond took a deep breath, “Okay. Then I can only accept this fact. I hope no other assassination plot will occur.”

“There won’t be. I vouch for her on it.”

Raymond snorted in amusement at his overconfident brother. “It must be tough for you to tame her.”

“Don’t make me say it.”

The two brothers laughed together while enjoying their wine until they couldn’t help but fall asleep.
