Back to training
While I was still a little upset about my business getting passed out like that I at least could understand why it was done. After that I filled the man in on the situation and the plan we had for it. He was a businessman through and through though and asked for Devon corp to have temporary sales rights to the move in exchange which I agreed to. I was going to be in Hoenn for quite some time still unless something unusual happened that changed that so it made sense that the mega corporation native to it would have been my go to for TMs sales.-
In regards to the Orre region I was actually VERY interested in going there myself since the region specialized in team battles that had two pokemon out at the same time ALL the time. Battling like that seemed to be a perfect way to train my teams cooperation and my own strategies. Oddly though the region was almost entirely uninhabited by pokemon which threw me off. It's not because it was a desert region either as people tried to transplant Sandshrew and other pokemon usually found in a desert area but they failed.-
Nothing wanted to live there at all and something told me that it had to do with a legendary but I couldn't think of why one would cause such a thing more than as a temporary thing. It was very clearly not a temporary thing as it had been that way since the region was first discovered centuries back. Another interesting thing about Orre was that it didn't have a gym circuit at all but instead had a competition system that was known as the colosseum and Mt. Battle challenges. The first was basically tournament style battles held in roman esque style colosseums. The second however was an entirely different matter.-
Mt. Battle was a continuous nonstop challenge of one hundred battles with the first being the easiest and the one hundredth being champion level hard. The best part though was that in a way it was an endurance game just like it was a skill and power one as you only got to take a break and set a starting point beyond the first after defeating ten incrementally harder opponents with an area leader at the end at the strength of the starting trainers of the next area. -
The place sounded like a paradise for hardcore training like my team was doing between gym challenges. Needless to say I intended to go to Orre after completing my gym circuit in Hoenn as a nice adventure and challenge for myself. I thought of going to one of the other mysterious circumstance lands like Oblivia but figured Orre would probably be a more relaxed place to go. Anyways once it was decided that we would start the plan after my challenge with Watson It was time to go back to training my team.-
Gaia was still recovering from the thrashing she had gotten from the Golem previously so it was Runes turn to battle. As for Yani who had caused this whole issue she went off somewhere to work on another custom move she had an idea for as well as evolve apparently. How the fuck she was so confident of being able to pull it off was beyond me but I was past trying to use common sense on her at this point. She was a little monster so if she said she was going to do something I wasn't going risk being proven wrong by saying otherwise.-
While Rune was getting his ass kicked to train i was hanging out nearby and using my X-ray vision to look for buried treasure. There were a few things under the ground that might have counted but nothing I myself would be interested in really. That continued over the next three days as we battled deeper and deeper into the area. On the fourth day however I discovered something out of place or rather a lack of something that should be there. I got excited when the system sent me a mission that confirmed my suspicions on the matter.-
[Quest conditions established!
Description: Scouring the land for plunder you have discovered a space below the ground that is out of place , Adventure forth!
Objectives: Explore the cave , Collect at least two treasures(Optional) , discover the secret of the cave(Optional) , ????????(revealed if prior objective is completed)(Optional)
Rewards: 2x exp tickets , 2x item tickets(optional) , 3x exp tickets(Optional) , ??????(Optional)]
How could I not get excited after reading that description? Not only was there a secret to the cave but it was also big enough that the system had a bonus optional objective and reward if I found out what it was. "Change of plans everyone , I just got a quest from the system after discovering a cave about thirty yards down over there. We will be exploring it instead of training after Gaia digs us out an entrance." I said after gathering up my team again.-
Vulcan had somehow managed to squeeze out two levels from this area before this and Yani was sitting at level fifty five some fucking how after she went off on her own and had even learnt the move energy ball which was a pure offensive grass type move. She hadn't evolved though which I was wise enough not to point out like Rune who got a REALLY nasty look in return. It was so bad that I was almost willing to think she used mean look if I wasn't able to see her moveset that said otherwise.-
Over the last three days Rune had gained another four levels and was getting close to level seventy while Gaia was sitting at exactly sixty nine and it bothered the hell out of me. She was so close to the level goal I had set for this training trip that it almost hurt to look at. I was planning to use the exp tickets from the cave if she didn't get it before it was time to take the challenge. Rune was going to be my main focus for levels though as he was three off from seventy himself.-
It took Gaia about three hours to displace and solidify a tunnel to the cave and immediately we were hit with a blast of extremely hot air when she busted through the caves wall. "Vulcan scout ahead. This cave seems volcanic in nature and the rest of us can't survive breathing those gases but your kind is born in those conditions so you should be fine." I said seriously and it nodded before heading into the cave.-
I had to wait a few minutes before Vulcan finally returned to give the thumbs up that it was safe for the rest of us. When I entered the cave the first thing I noticed was that it was HOT inside. The second thing i noticed was that I could see without any issue at all thanks to the glow coming from the few very small pools of active magma that sat far apart.
