Sky pillar
Sky pillar
You know how you can pass by a forest that had been planted by hand and despite it not looking off you can't help but feel something wasn't quite right? Well that was the vibe I was getting from the fog. Even more evidence of my suspicions was that the fog NEVER went beyond a certain point as though it was contained in a invisible box of sorts. "Be careful this fog doesn't seem natural." I warned Steven and he nodded seriously. Sil flew forward carefully but the fog seemed to part in front of us as we weren't obstructed at all.-
Even using my aura senses I couldn't pick up on whatever was making me uneasy about this fog even after we landed on the island. The island itself was entire devoid of fog which made both myself and Steven uncomfortable. I released my team as I remembered that there lived some pretty powerful pokemon on this island. Steven followed my lead as he knew less than I did about the place. "Back me up if it looks like I need it but otherwise follow my lead." I said and he nodded.-
The tower itself was a monstrous construction that was so tall and wide that I couldn't even see the top from down here at the bottom. Taking a deep breath I entered the place with my team ready to face whatever the tower threw at us. The inside of the tower was surprisingly well lit just from the sunlight coming in from the windows and the walls had faded painted lines that reminded me of the grooves I saw on Groudons body. Otherwise I could honestly say that the place was totally empty. At least that was until I used my aura senses at which point I broke out in a cold sweat.-
The walls were hollow and within them many auras were present and clearly watching us. Using my x-ray vision I was able to confirm that most of it was Claydol and Sableye line pokemon. "Under no circumstances is anyone to touch the walls." I warned seriously and my team and Steven with his own looked confused but my tone made it clear I accepted no argument. We were VASTLY outnumbered and I didn't want to give these currently peaceful pokemon a reason not to continue doing so.-
We crossed the floor and went up the stairs carefully at the other end of the room only to find out that the second floor was almost identical to the first. Continuing up the tower the damage to it started to appear alongside fewer and fewer pokemon. I ended up recalling my team so as to not put too much weight on the floors as it was starting to get crumbly. Steven followed my lead and recalled his team except for his Claydol that I told him was fine since it was levitating. That didn't mean the poor pokemon wanted to stay out however as the exact opposite was true.-
I couldn't blame it though as the closer to the top we got the more heavy the very air itself felt as Rayquaza presence grew clearer and clearer. "BRRRRRNG!" We jumped in fright as the call sound for Stevens pokenav went off. He answered the call and listened in silence for a moment before hanging up with a serious expression. "That was Birch , you were right Aqua has awoken Kyogre and the ancient pokemon is clashing with Groudon near Sootopolis. The city has taken serious damage and the clashing power is causing a violent pattern of weather to spread from it." he said and I sighed.-
"I was hoping that after seeing the death and destruction that Groudon brought aqua would leave the beast be but clearly I overestimated their intelligence. Lets hurry , only Rayquaza can fix this now." I said determined and Steven agreed. In the game Rayquaza didn't harm the person who came to plead for it's aid but this was reality and the lord of the sky was not a scripted being but a true living and intelligent one that could just as easily kill us and let the two titans fight it out for many years before intervening.-
Needless to say I was understandably nervous about how this was going to go for us. At some point up the tower you could feel Rayquaza presence all around you pressing on and suppressing you. For good reason I discovered as there was a hole in one of the walls that was blocked by an emerald green colored thing from the outside of the tower. "It's coiled around the tower." I whispered in horror and Steven shared my feelings if his pale skin and wet brow was any indication.-
I knew that like the other two titans Rayquaza would be larger than shown in the game by a wide margin but i hadn't thought it would coil around this massive tower in such a manner. Ten floors I realized were wrapped around by the pokemon and if it had just casually tightened it's coil could dispatch us without any struggle. This elicited a primal terror that no amount of deadened emotions could stop from arising. Steeling our resolve we continued up the tower and I couldn't help that notice that the further up we went the worse the damage was.-
'The other pokemon living here have been maintaining the towers integrity.' I thought in understanding. This was how the tower was still standing after so long and so much stress from the colossal pokemon pressing down on it from the top. Soon enough we reached the roof of the tower and we froze immediately. Taking up almost the entirety of the roof was a massive green and red head that had two yellow eyes gazing down at us with what I was willing to bet money was amusement. 'You mortals are always so timid , I won't bite you know.' A deep voiced rumbled in my head causing my eyes to widen.-
"You speak our language?" I asked in surprise. 'Not quite little mortal. I am speaking to you through my own aura , an ability all those born can perform with enough practice. I must say though that you are a most curious mortal however. Your entire being seems to be in a constant state of flux yet also seems to require a catalyst to change , most curious indeed.' Rayquaza says with a glint in it's massive yellow eyes. "I am afraid the reason for that is unknown to even myself." I said honestly.-
'Oh? From your aura I can see you speak truly , how fascinating! Tell me mortal have you ever encountered another of my kin to your knowledge many years back , what you call gods?' Rayquaza asked and I shook my head. 'Again you are speaking truly , perhaps I will make inquiries after you leave this place. Anyways for what reason does two mortals seek me after so very long without so much as a hello? Your kind has only lingered about at the bottom of my rest in recent memory after all.'
