Chapter 39 Fox Vs Poseidon
Lee Seng didn't know how to feel. He felt scared yet intrigued. Victor Callas was a well known student. He remembered reading Victor had gotten his name during the Entrance Exam. He wiped out everyone in the Single matches with a single tidal wave.
'Poseidon.' Lee Seng thought. Lee Seng was even more intrigued why Victor would even be here. It was known by the public that 4th years spent most of their times in their preferred area of work. Poseidon was well sought out for all three different areas. The Adventurers Guild, Police Force, and Army wanted him. Lee Seng didn't remember what Callas chose, but he was certain Callas would be well off before he even graduated.
Lee Seng's hand shook with excitement. He didn't want to freeze now. If he could understand the difference of what being at the top meant, he could actually have something to work towards. Lee Seng raised his hand and Victor glanced at it.
"I guess I should be honored then. It's a pleasure to spar against you, Callas. For the sake of things, my name's Lee Seng Chang." Lee Seng introduced. Victor smiled and shook his hand.
"It's a pleasure to be sparring against you. Anytime you're ready."
The two pulled their hands away and Lee Seng raised his arms and took form. He didn't like the idea that he would have to spar without a weapon, but he could potentially use this time to practice his gravity-infused martial arts. He hadn't practiced much of it, but how hard could it be?
'Victor's a Glass. He excels at ranged attacks, but due to the unruly nature of his power, frontal assaults would hurt even more. If I'm remembering correctly, he's good at close combat too.' Lee Seng reminded himself.
'He's not a Specialist?' Keng asked. Lee Seng shook his head.
'No, he still has weaknesses closely associated to being a Glass, but he's worked hard to make sure those weaknesses aren't easily exploited. You could call him a genius in many aspects.'
"Fighters, ready?" The staff member shouted. The two nodded and readied themselves. "Fight!"
Lee Seng dashed forward, jabbing at Victor. Victor blocked, pushing Lee Seng's punch away and sending a punch towards his opponent. Lee Seng dodged backwards and threw his foot into the air, connecting with Victor. He quickly flipped backwards and landed on his feet as Victor stumbled backwards.
'It's like he's done this a million times.' Victor thought. Victor rushed at Lee Seng and the two began to throw punches and kicks at each other. Lee Seng felt his fists and feet vibrating and quickly sent out a punch. The punch landed onto Victor and released a burst of gravity. Victor flew backwards and slammed into the invisible wall.
Lee Seng could feel his hand numb. He stretched his fingers and watched as Victor stood back up, smiling.
"Ahh, a Fighter?" Victor asked. "If that's the case..." Water began to swirl into existence around Victor. Lee Seng watched the water pool into an orb above Victor. Lee Seng could feel the fear biting at him. He quickly dashed forward towards Victor. The pool of water slammed downwards onto the stage rushed at Lee Seng.
Lee Seng's eyes grew wide. Before he could even throw his hands up, the rushing wave of water slammed into his body and pushed him towards the other side of the stage. He slammed into the wall, air escaping him and the waters overtaking him. His vision blurred as water rushed him.
'Is he going to drown me?' Lee Seng thought. The cold water pressed against him, holding him in place. He couldn't raise his arms. He couldn't feel the vibrations. The water was pushing against him too hard for him to feel anything. His vision blurred even more and he could only think of one thing. 'Push.'
He eyes shut and he waited for death to take him.
One.
Two.
Three.
He coughed loudly as his eyes fluttered open. The water around him had suddenly pulled back on him. He pounded his chest as he gasped for air.
'What the hell is going on?' Lee Seng thought. He glanced at the other side of the stage. Small droplets of water all over the stage and Victor stood in the same exact place. The orb of water swirled behind him as he watched Lee Seng.
"Do you concede?" Victor asked. Lee Seng's gasp for air turned to a chuckle. He had wished for death many times, but never imagined it to be like this. He sloppily pushed himself up and onto his feet. He was soaked.
"Am I... going to concede?" Lee Seng laughed. "Ah, man, that's the funniest thing I've heard all day!" The crowd and Victor seemed to have similar minds. They were confused. Victor stared at Lee Seng with amazement.
'He should've been knocked out from that hit, alone. Is the Creator's son something more than what I've been told?' Victor thought. Lee Seng could feel a strange energy surround him. His tail swooshed side to side as a white energy appeared around him. The wisps of energy made his ears look bigger and his tail looked like it was smoking. Lee Seng knew something was different about him, but he ignored it.
"I should warn you." Lee Seng's distorted voice spoke. It sounded like Keng and him were merged again. "I'm quite competitive."
Lee Seng's body disappeared from thin air. He appeared right in front of Victor and sent out an upper cut. The punch connected before Victor could even react and he was sent flying upwards. The orb of water flew upwards and slammed against the ceiling and wall as its master flew off the ground.
Victor quickly extended the droplets of water beneath him and turned them to spikes. They crashed into Lee Seng, stabbing at him as icicles. Lee Seng ignored the pain. He grabbed at an icicle and shattered it. He felt his body vibrate and the white aura shot outwards and blew everything away from him.
Victor enveloped himself in water and shot himself onto the other side of the stage. He landed and the water around him swirled. He swished the blood in his mouth, grabbing at his jaw before spitting the blood onto the floor. The crowd was in a state of shock.
"Did he just...?"
"The fox just punched him into the air like it was nothing."
"Was he holding back this entire time?"
Lee Seng didn't even know his full strength. Something had switched inside of him and now he was being wrapped with white aura energy, again. He didn't understand it, but whatever effects it had on him, it was helping him in this fight. His ruby and sapphire eyes glistened and he smiled.
'Whatever this is, it feels nice.' Lee Seng thought. He turned to look at Victor who was creating a large amount of water. 'Is he going to do the same move again? Maybe I should just...'
"Crush him." A female voice whispered. He smiled and nodded. He raised his hand up and felt the energy building in his hand.
'Lee, don't!' Keng shouted. Lee Seng ignored Keng's cries and continued. The energy grew bigger and bigger in his hand. He would carry out what the woman asked of him. He would crush Victor.
Victor raised both of his arms upwards towards the huge orb of water and looked at Lee Seng.
'I'll have to make this quick. He got quicker and I need to stay on top.' Victor thought. He shot the water outwards like a tidal wave. It crashed onto the ground and quickly rushed towards Lee Seng.
"Crush him. Crush everyone who stands in your way." The woman whispered. Lee Seng's eyes glistened with foreign energy and he quickly began to feel the charge reach its peak.
'Lee, don't!' Keng shouted. 'Don't listen to it!'
Lee Seng's right arm grabbed his left arm and pulled on it. Lee Seng tried to pull it away but his own body wouldn't listen to him.
"I'm sorry I have to do this." Lee Seng's distorted voice said. The white energy shimmered around Lee Seng's face and a fox mask appeared. Lee Seng felt himself be kicked away from his body, landing in the white space. The lake stood in front of him and he quickly scrabbled over.
"What the hell happened?" Lee Seng asked.
Lee Seng watched as his body acted on his own.
"I'm sorry I have to do this for our own good!" Keng's distorted voice said. Lee Seng glanced around. He didn't see Keng anywhere. Lee Seng watched as the lake showed him a view of his face. It was covered with the familiar red and blue fox mask. Lee Seng could feel a familiar energy radiating off of him and watched as his own body began wrap his hands around him. White energy enveloped him and shot outwards.
The raging tidal wave crashed into the white energy and began to spiral around him. The water wrapped around him like a vortex and he began to watch as the masked version of him, twirled the water with the white energy.
"That's enough." Keng's distorted voice spoke. Lee Seng felt himself being pulled back into the lake and before he knew it. He was back. The loud rush of water swirled around him and he could see Victor watching in amazement. "Woah!" The crowd shouted. Lee Seng imagined the water lifting into the air and it began to shoot upwards. He grasped at nothing in the air and the water hovered in place. Lee Seng felt his body numbing and becoming hard.
