Chapter 883 Mutual Agreement

Poseidon thought for a moment and sighed. "Show me and we'll have no choice but to trust you." He looked at Lee Seng. Lee Seng nodded and turned his back to Poseidon and the  resistance members. Olivia watched the resistance as Lee Seng put his hands together.

"How's the academy?" Lee Seng asked Victor. "Is it doing well against the Deimons?"

"We're not sure what the Academy's doing. They've been quiet." Victor answered. "We're not sure if it's safe or not." Lee seng nodded and pulled the energy apart. Wind and energy flew everywhere as he pulled away, revealing the large tear in reality.

Lee Seng poked his head into the portal. He had brought them very close to the 'haunted house.' Victor and the resistance members gasped in amazement.

"How did he do that?" A resistance member asked. They stepped forward as Lee Seng pulled his head out and let them look.

"It's the academy." Victor whispered. "C-can we go in it? Will it close on us?"

"It closes when I want it to. Don't dawdle. I don't need to waste more energy than I already have." Lee Seng responded. They took turns going in and out. They couldn't believe their eyes.

"Someone with a power like this exists?" The second resistance members asked. "W-with a power like this, we could—"

"We can't." Victor stepped back out of the portal. The others followed after him and Victor gave Lee Seng a nod. Lee Seng swiped at the portal, letting it disappear.

"Can we go inside now?" Lee Seng asked. The resistance members all turned with Victor and took similar stances.

"The tower's already under our control." Victor told them. "If there's someone you need inside, we can handle it. But, if you can really teleport people around with that spell, we could really use someone like you to—"

"If you have the tower under control, you must have enough manpower to protect it. So, that means my team and I don't need to be here anymore." Lee Seng cut Victor off. "Look, Mr. Student Council, I've got matters of my own to deal with, so I'd appreciate it if I could get to the system and put some names into the list to let in." Victor thought for a moment and turned to look at the others. They were all giving each other looks while they silently conversed with each other. Lee Seng assumed they had comms to do that telepathically.

Olivia pulled Lee Seng over to her and whispered into his ear. "What're we going to do after this? The walls are being reinforced, so naturally they'd want to ask us to deal with the walls, right? If we're trying to figure out where the Deimons are, we'd have to have information from them." Lee Seng nodded as he pulled away. Olivia wasn't wrong. All the information they had was two years old. Anything could've changed in two years - Lee Seng had his doubts about this - but showing Victor and the resistance group they were on the same side, wouldn't hurt them. It would help.

"Fine, you can put whatever names you want into the system but I need you to do something for me in return." Victor held a finger up. "Since you showed us you can go to the academy, I need some of my people to go there. There's rumors that the Deimons took it over weeks ago after the Academy suddenly closed."

"It's closed?" Olivia asked. Victor nodded.

"The academy had a sudden closure midway into the semester last year. Students were kicked out for some reason. There's rumors that the Numbers closed it down due to the Creator's orders like they knew something was about to happen."

"The Creator and the Numbers…" Lee Seng whispered. "Why would they do that?"

"Hundreds of people out of a job. Students kicked out and forced to go home - some of those students becoming homeless because they live so far away." A resistance member added.

"Plus, there's been Deimons flocking to that place in the last two weeks alone. We're unsure what they're up to and your fancy spell would certainly help us." Victor pointed at Lee Seng. "Do that for us and I'll let you put in whatever names."

"What about the walls? Aren't they being taken over right now?" Lee Seng asked.

"They are, but there's another team dealing with that. You don't have to worry about anything. The resistance is much bigger than you realize."

"Guild members, civilians, military personnel, police force. Thousands of people came together to stop the Deimons." The third resistance member told them. "After the exponential increase of people going missing after drinking the juice, loads of people started to look into it."

"But there's few online accounts of that." Olivia spoke. "We could barely get anything on them via a news source or an online forum."

"Y'all live under a rock or something?" The second resistance member asked. "There's news about this everywhere. So much that the government started taking them down and compiling them elsewhere. The Deimons have a strong backing cause that wouldn't have happened just as fast."

"That explains that." Lee Seng sighed. "Let us in to talk to our teammates. I'm not opposed to going to the Academy, but they should know what we're doing."

"Fair. Bring them to their friends. We don't have much time before another Deimon tries to attack." Victor ordered the resistance members. "I'm going to report before coming in."

"Roger." The resistance members spoke in unison.

"C'mon, this way." The first resistance member motioned.

The Wall Tower building looked like a radio station from the outside. It blended into the surrounding of the city, easily accessible yet hard to know if it was actually a radio station. The three resistance members led them through the glass doors which were built of high-grade material. Lee Seng and Olivia noticed small dots all along the glass. Bullets and magic had tried to break the glass, but it was reinforced to take something like that.

They entered through the lobby where a group of resistance members were standing watch. They acknowledged the trio and became heavily suspicious of the Fox Spirit with eight tails. They whispered as the trio led them into a room down a hallway towards the end. Resistance members stood guard as the group of five came to a stop.

"They're here for their friends." The first resistance member motioned to Lee Seng and Olivia.

"Under whose order?" One of the guards asked.

"Poseidon."

A guard moved and opened the door. It clicked, letting Lee Seng know that they were electronically locked in until further notice. The rest of Team Zephyr looked up and noticed Lee Seng and Olivia being ushered in

"You got until Victor's back." The first resistance member told them. Lee Seng nodded and entered with Olivia. The door closed, locking as the group all stood up and turned.

"What did they mean by that?" Manny asked.

"Are you guys locked in with us?" Ritsuka added.

"There's an enchantment on this room. I saw one of them scrawl it earlier. We can't do anything." Evan told them. Lee Seng looked at Keng and raised an eyebrow.

"I didn't want to do anything that would cause them to get… scared." Keng answered Lee Seng's silent question. He simply nodded at his brother's answer and looked at the others.

"What happened out there?" Manny asked.

"We managed to get a mutual agreement." Olivia answered. "We can let in Lee Seng's siblings but we have to go to the Academy with a bunch of resistance members."

"What happened at the Academy?" Evan asked.

"It got closed halfway through the semester last year and a couple weeks ago, Deimons started going there."

"Why would they close the Academy? Many people in the surrounding area go there. People travel far and wide to attend a prestigious school like that!" Liz asked.

"That's what we don't get right now." Lee Seng sighed. "It's not a bad choice to help them here. We're on the same side."

"It doesn't feel that way." Evan grumbled. There was a knock at the door. It was Victor.

"Victor's here?" Manny whispered. Lee Seng nodded as they all turned their attention to Victor.

"Ah, this is what you meant by your teammates." Victor nodded. "I wonder how you even operated in the last two years with familiar faces like these."

"What's that supposed to mean?" Manny defensively asked.

"You know what I mean." Victor smiled. "Did you tell them?"

"Just went over it." Olivia answered.

"Good. Since it's you guys, I won't have to worry too much. After all, you managed to not die multiple times in school." Victor sighed.

"What's that supposed to —" Manny began to say when Lee Seng cut him off.

"Can I put the names into the system?" Lee Seng asked.

"It's not as simple as that. There's a guy from the military who has to do it. You have to run it by him." Victor replied. "I can take you all to him. After that, I'm coming with you guys to the Academy."

"And who says that?" Ritsuka asked.

"Guild leader did." Victor answered. When everyone's faces except for Lee Seng and Olivia grew confused, Victor smiled. "What you didn't think I was running this whole joint? I'm not capable of a large-scale thing such as this. I'm just a cog in the machine trying to push back those Deimon folk. I just want to protect my family from them. C'mon, we don't have much time. There's reports that another batch of Deimons are entering the Academy with cargo."
