Chapter 896 D31M0N: C0NN13
Lee Seng flew through the air without a care in the world. If anything, he was starting to get impatient. Lee Seng's tails ripped a portal open, letting him fall in it. He lifted himself up, hovering mere inches from the floor as ice and wind whipped around him.
"Gravitum: Cosmic Ray." Lee Seng blasted through the ice and melted the wall. Lee Seng's eyes scanned the area. Tyler was nowhere to be seen. Lee Seng's energy swept outwards. He pushed out anything unnecessary. The choking energy, the wind whipping everywhere, and his annoyance. He needed to stay focused.
'Just find him. Prepare a string of annoying attacks for him, too.' Lee Seng thought.
[Roger that.]
[Celestial Fireball, Gravitum: Cosmic Ray, and Light Blast has been added the Runeweaver's Mixed Rune]
Lee Seng's energy snaked across to the end. He immediately felt the pre-teen Deimon at the staircase door.
"Found you." Lee Seng whispered. "Release it."
[Releasing Runeweaver Mixed Rune: Celestial Skies.]
"Oh," Tyler turned. "He's not dead." Tyler turned and tossed his dice as the walls in front of him were torn asunder. Star fire devoured everything in its past folklore slamming against Tyler and exploding in bright star light. Celestial fire moved throughout the room as Lee Seng floated over.
"You aren't dead." Lee Seng eyed the barely alive Tyler. There was a faint energy resonating behind him. He turned and noticed the dice were disappearing. They had filled their duty in the probability roll and left Lee Seng to assume the Deimon boy had done all he could. "If only I could save you…"
"S-save me…? Heh." Tyler managed to speak. He couldn't feel anything. His body had been so badly scorched by the Perfect Singular. There was a part of him - the child he had taken over - that wanted to beg for help. "Y-you… can't save us… Those… taken…" Tyler's eyes rolled to the back.
[Four Genetically Modified Chimeras and a Deimon have been slain! A boosted 275,000 souls has been added to the Golden Protocol! 698,754/1,000,000]
Lee Seng let out a sigh. Colorful smoke exited his lungs as he bent downwards and turned away. 'I'm sorry, kid. I'll make sure they pay for this…' Lee Seng touched the crisp body of the boy and closed his eyes. He took a moment to pray for the departed soul. It had weighed on him that he didn't pray for the souls he took. He silently stood up after a moment of prayer and headed up the stairs.
"Take me to her." Lee Seng whispered. The energy danced around him and before moving. Lee Seng climbed the stairs to the top. The higher up he went, the more doors were open and abandoned. "They fled somehow?" He climbed to the last floor and opened the doors. A giggle came from the energy Lee Seng had been following.
"Well, well, well. Looks like Tyler gave me enough time to call for backup!" Connie chuckled. The entire floor shifted. Lee Seng watched as the walls fell away. Things fell off the walls. Glass shattered, desks rumbled as papers and technology spilled. A small little girl stood at the other end of the floor.
Connie wore a denim jacket over her black t-shirt, shorts and boots. She had a pistol strapped to her side. It looked humongous on a little girl her size. Connie furiously moved a lollipop in her mouth before plucking it out.
"You've put a wrench in our plans and now I have to deal with you myself. Ah, good for nothing Tyler… Queen told me he would be helpful, but all he's done is watch me do all the work and report back to her on what I'm doing. Bah, such a useless prick!" Connie slammed her foot against the floor. She pulled the gun out and turned the safety off. She lifted it to Lee Seng and smiled. "I guess if you want something done, you gotta do it yourself!"
Connie fired three bullets at Lee Seng. Lee Seng raised his hand to block it, only to find the bullets moving through his shield and piercing him. He hissed as he reflexively pushed the bullets out. His wounds didn't immediately heal. Whatever the girl just did to him, certainly had a secondary effect.
"Oh, I guess you got used to bullets not hitting you, hm?" Connie asked. A devious smile grew on her. Lee Seng ran straight for Connie, watching as the little girl released three more shots. Lee Seng thrusted his hand forward, letting out a rippling wave of gravity. The bullets wavered just a bit before continuing down their path.
Lee Seng dodged two bullets, finding solace in the third bullet. He grunted, pushing the bullet out and continuing forward. Connie released the rest of her bullets, pulling the mag out and blowing into it before loading it. She pulled the barrel and pointed the gun straight at Lee Seng.
Lee Seng dodged the bullets, pushing a wave of gravity upwards and forcing the bullets to curve upwards. He slashed the air with Sun blade, releasing a net of golden energy. Connie's eyes quickly traced the net, shooting at connecting intervals. The energy dissipated, surprising Lee Seng as two more bullets flew at him.
Lee Seng blinked forward, dodging the bullets and sending out four more sun slashes. Connie shot two sun slashes and watched as two flew past her.
"Ain't precise, aren't we?" Connie asked. "Too bad you are literally no match for me, Lee Seng Chang." Her eyes flicked over to the windows to her right and then back to Lee Seng. Lee Seng stopped in his place and twirled the sword in his hand.
"Why don'tcha just succumb to what's about to happen to you and I can go on my merry way, hm?" Lee Seng asked. Connie laughed.
"You really asked. I didn't take ya to be like this. Such a man! It's too bad Queen wants yer ass. The Master needs you for his big ol' project. You are the missing key, so to speak… Sooooo~ I can't really allow that, but I will make this easy for you." She fired off two more bullets at Lee Seng who didn't do a thing. His eyes swirled with gold celestial light. His body billowed in celestial flames and the energy in the room finally let up on him.
"Much better." Lee Seng sighed as he stopped in place. Connie's eyes narrowed. Something was different about Lee Seng now. The Creator's son wasn't as helpless as she remembered him being. "Gravitum Altered Art: Dragon's Flash and Dash!" Lee Seng moved much faster than before. Celestial fire flew from his blade as swung at Connie. He was much too fast for Connie to react.
Lee Seng bounced in the air, striking and attacking Connie and lighting her on fire. She screamed as she was engulfed in flames. She wondered how he got so much faster. She wondered how he was able to continuously showcase more power than he did before.
Connie screamed as the flames ate at her. 'I'm not going to make it much longer under this much strength…!' Connie gritted her teeth and sucked in a breath of cosmic smoke before her body exploded with Dark Matter. The flames pulled into her as a cocoon formed. Lee Seng swung his sword on the cocoon, watching his blade bounce off. Lee Seng jumped backwards and watched as the DM grew inside the cocoon.
'What's going on now?' Lee Seng wondered. The cocoon exploded, splattering Dark Matter everywhere. It spilled like webs, pulling inwards towards the floating girl. Connie conjured a rifle and sprayed the room. Lee Seng jumped out of the way, hitting the floor as he conjured a barrier. The barrier exploded, bullets sinking into him.
Lee Seng hissed in pain as he rolled to his feet, watching Connie land. She wore a Dark Matter cybersuit. Her pigtails were now braids and the tiny Deimon had a different aura about her.
"I didn't want to resort to this, but I guess it would be a shame if I didn't take this seriously." Connie sighed. She readied the rifle and smiled at Lee Seng. Her eyes glimmered a deep purple, something he hadn't seen before. "Let's see if you can keep up now, Eleven."
Connie sprayed bullets while Lee Seng redirected and swung at the bullets. They flew everywhere, occasionally nicking him. He could feel the strange effects take over. Connie loaded the whole gun and began to reload.
'Now's my chance!' Lee Seng dashed straight for Connie. That's when he saw it. She grinned as she stopped reloading and lifted her hand up in a claw formation. She pulled the claw towards her and all of the bullets in the room began to fly straight back to her.
Lee Seng could feel each bullet knick and puncture him as the bullets flew like a swarm of bees. He cursed as he tried to produce a barrier to no avail. Connie had finally gotten one over him and it looked like it was just about to begin.
