Chapter 168 Half Disciple
Martha's Master was giving Erian 'a chance' to join his side. Like this, he would be able to deal with Erian easily.
At the same time, he was forcing Erian to make a decision.
If Erian chose Tenth Envoy, it meant that there was no return. They would be enemies and Martha's Master the Fifth Wnvoy would suppress or dispose of him.
"Hahaha, Fifth, you're interested in Erian as well? If he's willing, he can be your disciple." Tenth Envoy paused then started laughing.
Erian cursed "s***."
The situation wasn't good!
At this time, he had seen through everything.
Grand Elder Seraph seem hesitant about choosing him as a disciple.
Tenth Elder wasn't sincere.
Martha's Master had some tricks up his sleeve.
The most important point was number 2.
Tenth Envoy just suggested taking Erian as a disciple to calm the atmosphere down and when Fifth Envoy; Martha's Master suggested that he would take Erian as a disciple, he had answered without hesitation.
So Tenth Envoy couldn't be trusted. From what he heard, the elders looked at talent immersely before choosing a personal disciple.
"If I become a disciple of tenth elder and becomes enemies with Martha's Master, the former will surely not protect me. On the contrary, he might even dispose of me to have a good relationship with Martha's Master and the others." Erian soon concluded.
Tenth envoy wasn't trustworthy and he only suggested this to please 2nd Grand Envoy. If he took Martha's Master as his mentor, he would be like a sheep entering the mouth of a tiger.
Erian soon decided:
Change a wish instead of taking either one as his master.
Grand Elder was someone who didn't take disciples simply and she l didn't promise easily. People like that would do all they could when one was recognised by them.
Unfortunately…
Erian sighed in his heart and he made his choice.
He chose to swap it with another wish, instead of taking a mentor.
This decision caused the other disciples to be stunned. How great an honour was it to have one of the Elder Envoys as your Master?
The students were all feeling regretful. But they were not Erian and they couldn't choose for him.
Grand Envoys' eyes glinted and she finally spoke: "You forgoing this wish is forcing me to go back on my word. But I've vowed to never take a disciple in the first place."
Hearing this, Erian finally understood. No wonder Grnad Envoy was silent when she heard Erian's wish and both Tenth Envoy and Martha's Master tried to please him.
But no matter how people or the Heavens calculated, Erian had rejected both and he would rather have another wish.
This meant that no matter whether she agreed or not, he was going back on his word.
"You must agree to something if you become my disciple." The sweet voice of the Grand Envoy suddenly spoke as she continued.
"What is it?"
Erian didn't know that the situation would suddenly change but his eyes lit up as he asked hopefully.
"Give up the Blood Symbiote Bio-Reactor!" The grand Envoy's voice wasn't loud but it sounded like thunder.
Erian was stunned - why would she want Erian to give Blood Symbiote Bio-Reactor up?
Why did she choose to not take in any more disciples?
Suddenly, everything clicked.
Erian remembered a rumor about someone practicing this technique a long while ago but he wasn't able to find out any more information apart from the person dying a mysterious death
Could it be that the student was this Grand Envoy's personal disciple? But he had trained the Blood Symbiote Bio-Reactor and died?
The Grand Envoy was silent and her green eyes became dim. Erian caught a tinge of hate and pain from her eyes. It could be imagined that the person who had trained the Blood Symbiote Bio-Reactor was definitely a prodigy, but he had passed away due to this skill.
"Erian, what's giving up a skill to become The Grand Envoy's disciple?"
At this time, the fifth envoy of the academy who was also in the Mission Division couldn't resist warning him. He had after all watched Erian grown stronger and stronger secretly. His fight with the Crimson envoy made Erian even more interested in him.
"Give up Blood Symbiote Bio-Reactor?"
Erian's eyes were full of decisiveness.
How could his will be swayed by others?
Erian never regretted choosing this skill. During his practice, he would always use his system to scan for flaws and push the danger to a minimum.
He once analysed that the Blood Symbiote Bio-Reactor was roughly created, like the creator hadn't perfected it yet. Therefore, Erian was not only training this skill, he was perfecting and improving it.
"You must not be willing! You're too similar to Indila back then, she had the same expression as you back then and she said the same thing… if I didn't take her as my disciple, I would regret it!" Grand Envoy's eyes looked complexly at Erian , like he was someone else.
"Grand Envoy ! I will promise what she said before too. What she couldn't finish, I will."
A surge of confidence appeared from Erian.
"Arrogant!"
"Lies!"
The second the words left his mouth, the nearby people started shouting. Even the eyebrows of the elder envoys rose.
Some were worried that Erian would be washed away in Grand Envoys anger as she was very unpredictable at times but he wasn't worried at all.
Because at this moment, he had become the perfect substitute for the most cared disciple of the grand envoy.
"You do have some points that are different to her." Grand Envoy inspected Erian for a few moment, leading to a rise in tension before she suddenly laughed like twinkling bells.
Erian's heart skipped a beat. Could she see through that he had been using the latter's emotions?
"You're the same as her, confident to such a degree that you could be said to be arrogant. There's one difference though, you're really calm."
Grand Envoy stared at Erian for a long time before speaking.
