Chapter 88 - Stalking President Li
Chapter 88 - Stalking President Li
Jing Lihua didn't know what to do this man. She just... didn't know. She sighed in resignation. She knew he wanted a reaction out of her. Too bad. She wouldn't give him that satisfaction. So she continued to eat obediently acting like he hadn't said that.
"You are traveling to Beijing today?" Li Zhiqiang asked, his voice sounded pensive.
"Yes. I've a flight in the afternoon." Suddenly Jing Lihua was reminded of something. She looked sad as she glanced at Li Zhiqiang. "From now on, you'll not be able to accompany me." Hs corporate was big that surely required his presence.
"Even if you travel to Hell, I'll accompany you. What is this Beijing?"
Jing Lihua laughed. "You've a company to look for. Will you abandon your empire for a woman?"
"I can abandon my life for you." Li Zhiqiang was all lovey-dovey as he looked at her with deep eyes.
Jing Liha sighed. He was so helpless. "Are you going to accompany me then?" The thought of it made Jing Lihua heart light with happiness.
"I promised you that I'll never leave your side again. I'm going to keep that promise." The passionate look in his eyes never left. "Besides after you transferred the real estate to my name, I'll have to go look for it. It is definitely a huge project that requires my presence."
Jing Lihua looked at him with questioning eyes. "How did you know? You didn't even read the papers I brought today!"
Li Zhiqiang leaned in and said in a light voice. "I know everything you do JingJing. I know you more than you do yourself."
"You stalked me!" How could she be dumb? He signed the papers so easily because he already knew what she was going to propose. There was no doubt that he traced her every activity before she remembered who he was.
Li Zhiqiang raised his hands in apology, "Hey. At least I meant no ill."
"If you say so, then mind telling me what is this other group from Hong Kong that was trying to hack into my accounts?" Jing Lihua still remembered what Heng Bingwne had told her that day. Two groups from Hong Kong. One meant to harm. Other protected her. Jing Lihua knew the one that was protecting was surely under Li Zhiqiang.? But the one that meany her harm... Jing Lihua didn't know which enemy she had in Hong Kong.
Li Zhiqiang was momentary stunned as if not expecting that she would have discovered that. "You know that as time passes, I'm finding myself liking you more and more." She had grown so smart since last time. That time she was naive. Strong yet naive. But now she was a totally different woman. So sharp and feisty.
"Don't try to avoid my question." Jing Lihua wouldn't let him off.
"I'm not trying to avoid your question. It's just... I told you. There might be some people who would want to separate us. They want to harm you and I must keep you safe. At that time, it was indeed me who had ordered this. But not to hack into your accounts to track your activities but to strengthen your firewall."
Jing Lihua leaned back. "Are these the same who are responsible for making me forget you?" Jing Lihua silently said. There was something akin to anger in her eyes. "The ones who are the reason behind all the sufferings we had to endure."
Though Li Zhiqiang didn't say anything but Jing knew it was them.
"Why don't you just tell me?" She studied Li Zhiqiang's expressions. He looked conflicted. "Do you not trust me? I said I trust you. If you don't want to tell me, I understand. There must be a reason. But I see this confliction in you every time the topic is brought. You want to tell me but you don't. What is it that is bothering you? Just tell me. Are you afraid I'll be hurt? But I'm stronger than before. I trust you. I also want you to trust me a little."
"I trust you JingJing. I trust you more than anyone. It's just I don't think the time is right. I think we should wait for a little first." It was not exactly about that. Scared that she might refuse him later, he wanted to get married to her before he told her. Li Zhiqiang sighed helplessly. He didn't know what to say. He knew he must tell her first. Keeping her in dark... what he was doing was wrong. "You are right. I want to tell you. But I'm scared. That you might not forgive me." He looked into her eyes, trying to sort out her feelings. Would she blame her? That night it was his JingJing who was supposed to die. She asked Li Zhiqiang to save Wu Xiuqin. But he declined. He wouldn't let go of her. In the end, it was Wu Xiuqin who paid. But until now, Jing Lihua didn't even recall anything. She didn't even know who was Wu Xiuqin.
"Did you do something wrong?" He heard her say. "Were your intentions ever wrong towards me?"
"I never had the wrong intentions towards you. I just never wanted to hurt you..."
"Then It's okay." Jing Lihua smiled. "Even if you have made a mistake, as long as it was not intentionally done and you were true to me, it is fine." Jing Lihua laughed. "Even if you ever did something bad to me, I would find it difficult-near impossible-to get angry at you."
Her words made Li Zhiqiang smile. But he knew once she remembered everything, she would be hurt. Wu Xiuqin didn't die but she was severely injured. Her wrists bones were crushed and broken. Although Li Zhiqiang did all he could to get that treated, in the end, it couldn't be brought to like it was in the beginning.
Wu Xiuqin was a pianist. Playing the piano was her passion and profession. It was her who had taught Jing Lihua how to play the piano. She had great dreams. But once her hands were injured, she couldn't play the piano as she did in the beginning. She was lost, broken. And the one who caused all this... Li Zhiqiang couldn't do anything about him. Her brother... Wu Junjie.
