Chapter 63 I Want A Responsible Man!
"If humans are a type of metal then food is steel. How could you skip meals?"
Oliver Walker frowned, "Plus, you have been having those foods with no nutrients. You won't be getting much nutrition from them!"
His wife was looking pale. From the look itself, it was obvious that she had not been able to rest properly for years along with the lack of nutritious food.
Her body might be able to handle it now.
But after some time, there would be all sorts of problems.
This woman had been waiting for him for 8 long years. She had been suffering for their family. If he wouldn't care for her, who else would?
"Even if these are delicious, do you think that I'll be able to eat them now?"
Emilia was trying her best to control her emotions as she asked, "Olivia is still lying on this bed. Even if these invitations are authentic, we have no idea if the godly doctor would even be willing to help us."
She wanted this man to know how difficult their current situation was.
She was a human, and she had emotions!
How would she be in the mood to think about food now?
"Of course, he would!"
Oliver Walker answered sincerely as he said, "I have already told him about it..."
Before he could finish his sentence, Emilia was already glaring at him.
He had no other choice but to swallow the remaining half of it.
The problem now was that Emilia did not trust him at all. It would only bring more arguments if he continued.
Emilia scoffed and tried to explain the situation to him patiently, "Did you really think that George Johnson and William Davis would let this go so easily?"
"Also….stop wasting all of the money that you have."
"Even if Olivia recovered from this, we would have to leave Colorado."
She was well aware of how William Davis and George Johnson were.
One of them was a petty man who would definitely get his vengeance even for the slightest things.
Another one was a gangster who would never allow himself to be embarrassed.
It could be said that Oliver Walker's actions were touching, but they also brought them a lot of trouble.
She could only pray that nothing would happen tomorrow, or else, it would not be something that she could take.
Oliver Walker spoke in a low voice, "If any of them dares..."
Emilia's face turned cold as she quickly stopped him, "I already told you that I hate men who exaggerate!
"How dare you promise me anything?
"You should make a promise to Olivia! Promise her that you'll provide her with a better life!
"You shouldn't be acting this way, bringing more trouble to the family!
"Even if you can fight, do you think that you would be able to fight the entire gang or the entire company?
"If you continue to do so, I will regret what I've done as well!"
She wasn't asking much!
She didn't mind if Oliver Walker came back, but he needed to be down-to-earth!
She didn't want him to bullsh*t about how capable he was and that he could challenge the whole world for her!
These were lies! It wasn't the reality!
The man whom she knew definitely wasn't someone who would exaggerate!
She couldn't help but feel that Oliver had changed! A lot!
That was right!
It had been 8 years, and even she had changed. How was it possible that Oliver would still be the same?
But….he has now become someone she hates the most!
"I..."
Oliver Walker struggled a little. He was dying to tell his wife that with one word of his, he would be able to cause a storm in Colorado, but he didn't.
In fact, he had not changed. It was just that Emilia's status in the Davis family 8 years ago was undefeatable.
There were a lot of things that he didn't need to handle. He only had to be obedient toward Emilia, and he didn't have to worry much.
However, things were different now. Emilia had been forced to the corner, and she would no longer be able to protect him as she used to 8 years ago. At the same time, she still assumed that he was a useless man.
Although he couldn't say them, he still swore to himself that once their little girl recovered, he would definitely take back everything that they deserved!
The Davis family would have to pay for what they did!
