Chapter 49: If You Can't Beat Them, Tease Them
Chapter 49: If You Can't Beat Them, Tease Them
Laz couldn't be using his sense perception every moment of every day. He would get a splitting headache as he had found out the hard way before. The feeling was like constantly being on edge for a long period of time. It basically lead to being exhausted and in pain. It just wasn't needed or worth it.
That said, he also knew that he had felt vibes from this girl before when he came into contact with her so he wasn't able to figure out why he no longer felt it. After her attack the last time, he knew she was like him, strange. But now she seemed to give off the feeling of a perfectly normal person with no abilities at all. This was the real reason why he was surprised.
Malene just continued to lean on the wall and look at him. He had to admit that she was a budding beauty, even if she annoyed the hell out of him during their last encounter. He couldn't figure out how he had gotten cut, no matter how he looked at it.
Although Laz was surprised, he wasn't stupid. He knew she was waiting her for him. He just had no idea as for the reason why.
Malene swayed back and then came forward, as though pushing herself off the wall. She then walked right up to him and just said "follow me."
Laz wanted to reject, thinking that there was no reason for him to do so. This cold and short tempered young beauty just wasn't his type. Or so he thought. After all, he hadn't much experience with girls so he couldn't really say he had a type. but between her and Kennedy, he would much rather spend time with the big breasted, bit sister type. She was at least a bit more fun to mess around with.
Kennedy gave him the feeling of bright sunshine and a fresh spring day. Get too close however, and he felt like he would get burned. This girl was more like a moon filled night, darkness all around with shadows that played tricks on the mind. The cool light only added to the mystery as opposed to illuminating the situation.
Laz was much more inclined to embrace the warm sun of day than shiver in the cold moonlit night.
Despite his misgivings, he still followed her. It basically came down to the fact that when an overly attractive girl told you to follow them without explanation, you just shut up and did what you were told. Of course, guys at Laz's age always thought with the wrong head, not that it got better as they got older.
Malene walked down the street a way in the same direction Laz was originally heading before abruptly turning and walking towards an empty store front. As she reached the locked door, she blocked the door with her body before lifting her left hand. Although Laz extended out his sense at this point, he just caught a glimpse of something metal extend from her hand before the locked turned and she opened the door.
No, wait. As he thought about it, it seemed like it came from under her sleeve. He couldn't help but think back to the time outside the restaurant that she had attacked him. Was that the same bit of weird metal that had sliced his cheek? Was she a professional lock pick or something?
Although Laz had questions, he didn't voice them. After what had happened the last time, he just wanted to see what she had to say. As fair as her threatening him, although it shocked him a bit, he wasn't actually scared as he knew she wasn't actually aiming for his life. The feeling he got when she attacked was much more subdued than what Joey gave off.
If anything, he felt like she was a bit nervous with her attack. Had he been able to see inside the car afterwords, he would have seen her brightly smiling as though a kid who was proud of themselves.
After he walked inside, he closed the door while she sat on top of the glass counter. This place used to sell jewelry, but in a small town like this, a business like this couldn't last. The display counters still looked somewhat clean and you could tell the inside of the place was kept up, waiting for the next small business owner to give their dreams a shot.
He couldn't stand the way this girl had asked him to follow her and was now just sitting there staring at him. Since he didn't know what she wanted, he just figured why not mess with her. Since he wasn't interested in her, he didn't actually have to care about her feelings.
"Alright, I'm here. Honestly though, I live alone. My place isn't much, but it's more comfortable than doing it here on a glass counter. The carpet doesn't look too bad, but it might leave a rash." Laz said as he appeared to be admiring the store as though searching for something.
"Doing what?" Malene asked while still staring at him. She actually seemed to not understand what he was implying.
"You can't be serious right?" Laz asked a little slack jawed.
"I wanted to ask you something." Malene said. Her stare was a bit icy, but considering her beauty and youthfulness, it didn't even border being intimidating.
"I prefer the top. It's not a control issue, I just worry about getting a cramp or something," Laz replied without even giving her a chance to elaborate.
"The top...?" Malene looked even more confused, even dropping some of her icy indifference..
"Alright, fine. I can be on the bottom, but we are going to have to lay down a coat or something. I really don't want a rash on my ass from this scratchy carpet. It will totally ruin my mood and I probably won't be able to get into it. You know this will really require a lot of effort on my part." Laz almost was acting like he was complaining about having to do the deed with this gorgeous girl.
"What? Why the hell would your ass get a rash just from talking to me? What the hell kind of problems do you have?" Malene asked back, a bit disgusted about hearing a guy talk about his ass in such a manner.
Laz almost lost it at this point. Almost. He was so close to loosing it, it was almost like the last drop of water that would cause a bowl to tip and spill out everywhere was just hanging on the edge of the faucet, but it defied gravity and didn't move. No one could explain it.
"You know what? Just ask, ask away. Feel free." Laz felt defeated at this point. There was no way a girl would be this clueless, right? That only happened in bad porn and dirty books didn't it? He no longer wanted to think about it.
"What's you relationship with that girl?" Malene asked, as though she was interrogating him.
"Huh?"
"That girl, the big chested blonde who looks about as bright as a 1 watt light bulb. What is she to you?"
A bit down the road a ways, Kennedy was in line, buying an iced coffee and sneezed without warning.
"Well, that's weird," She muttered to herself.
Laz blanked. Of all the reasons he would have thought to have been pulled into an abandoned building by a beautiful girl his age, this wasn't in the top ten. Or the top hundred for that matter. Although, admittedly, a few of the top ten involved various girl's sports teams from his school and the need to survive together through a zombie apocalypse, but this wasn't the time for that.
"My relationship with her?" Laz questioned back to make sure he wasn't losing it at his young age.
"Yes, idiot. Are you deaf or something?" Malene seemed to get a bit more angry every time he questions her back.
"Uh, friends I guess? Laz replied without thinking. But then something finally clicked.
"Wait. What does any of this have to do with you?" Laz was a bit pissed off. He didn't even know this chick but she was asking about this? What the hell?
"You're not forcing her into something?" Malene seemed to have gone back to her icy self. Whats more, he tone had a hint a firmness in it that Laz didn't expect from her. Seems like this girl wasn't all cotton candy and unicorns after all.
"You know what? We are none of your business. So far, the first time we talk, you attack me. Now this shit? Listen here washboard. We both know what we are. And we both know what we aren't and that's fucking normal. So let's just stick with what you said the first time. Leave each other's shit alone and we have no problems. Otherwise..." It was at this moment that the calm and deep blue eyes of Laz took on their sinister, bright red appearance. It only took a moment for Laz to turn from an attractive, stoic young man to a devilishly handsome and amazingly dangerous demon.
Malene was caught by complete surprise. Her breath was stuck in her throat and she started to feel suffocated. She was noticeably trembling as Laz walked closer. His body seemed to have enlarged and it was only now that Malene could make out the tight, iron hard muscles beneath his shirt that was suddenly slightly tight on him. All of her ice was gone as she was glad she was sitting. Had she not been, should would have felt her legs fall out from underneath her.
As Laz got close, he noticed how scared she was. He never intended to be the bad guy, but this girl seemed to stir him up the few times they met. He realized he might have gone overboard, but since he was already on this ride, he might as well see it through.
He brought his hand up and lifted her chin so that she was staring right at him. Malene seemed to have forgotten her own powers at this moment while being stared at by this demon. It was the most intense moment of her young life.
"Otherwise, I will have to kiss you." Laz couldn't do it. She wasn't some scary bad guy. She was just a young girl who apparently hadn't seen half the trouble he had. As such, he decided to end it with a joke.
Laz's eyes instantly went back to their normal light blue appearance as his body once again became a normal size. He moved his hand down and without saying a word, he turned around and walked towards the door, opened it, and left.
Malene couldn't move. She had never felt anything like that before. She was always a somewhat spoiled rich princess. But now, after being stared at by that wicked gaze, she couldn't calm herself down.
She had her reasons for what she did today, but things didn't go according to plan, even in the slightest bit. She figured she would have to try another tacit to find out the truth.
As she leaned forward to move herself off of the edge of the counter, she suddenly felt a wet spot between her legs, practically soaking her leggings.
Although no one was there to see it, her face became bright red as she had thought she had been so scared that she had peed herself. But it didn't take long for her to realize that it was way more sticky than that and she couldn't help but be confused. Wrapping her jacket around her waist, she left out the back, thinking she should talk to her mom when she got home.
