Cornered by the CEO

Chapter 113: Mo Qingchen is Missing

Chapter 113: Mo Qingchen is Missing

Her phone was blowing up early the next morning. Mostly, it was Li Min sending her links to all the new articles that had come up. The reputation and risk analysis had been drawn up because share prices were plummeting and Qian Meng looked at all the information without flinching.

The titles she had given out to fan the flames and strengthen the arguments made by Bai Ye Qing's side had been published. At least, the first segment of them were. The next two groups of headlines and content would go out in the next few days. And she was looking forward to it.

She dialed Li Min's number.

"Good morning, Boss. Have you gone through the articles?" her assistant asked.

"I have. You did a good job with the articles. Did you write out the juicy quotations? The part about Bai Ye Qing following me to Paris was fun to read," she commented as she did her hair.

"Yes, I left small clues here and there in the articles for the detectives on the internet to munch on after more information comes out," Li Min replied, satisfied with herself.

"I already gave you a vacation, so you'll just have to suck it up and work a few more days of long hours." Qian Meng wasn't apologetic, really. She was having a much worse time with the country bashing her for almost killing someone out of spite. "How are sales at the outlet?" she asked offhandedly.

"Sales at outlets are a little low, but online hits to the website are going off the roof. Lots of the products are in carts," Li Min informed.

"What about sales?" Qian Meng enquired. Li Min was silent for a second.

"They remain the same as of now. Do you foresee a spike in sales?" she asked enthusiastically.

"I am not sure," Qian Meng was humble. Of course, she knew what was going to happen. Right now, women were looking at the video and either feeling disgusted by the act or envying how she had done as she wished. That was why people were curious. They were going to the website to check out the things and they liked the products.

But then, they knew if people got wind of increasing sales, it wouldn't look good, so they were letting the products in their cart marinate.

"There is another thing I want to inform you," Li Min started hesitantly. "A lot of people are buying into the stock because prices have gone down. But that was expected." She paused.

"What is the catch?" Qian Meng asked.

"The highest density sales were made by people closely associated with Mrs. Yun."

"Understood," Qian Meng said immediately. "Keep track of the buyers and make a list of the ones you think are associated with Jiang Xin. Keep the information aside. I am sure a financial newspaper will write an article on the number of people buying into the company. Give it a day for it to come out and track the reporters who look interested." She didn't plan on revealing Jiang Xin's plot or tipping the prosecution off about it, but she wanted to have something as leverage against the woman.

Qian Meng was sure that Jiang Xin had convinced Chen Yue to legally pursue the matter for the purpose of buying more shares into Venus.

Anyone with good sense would know Venus was worth a lot, but it was only because Yun Qian Meng was at the helm of the company. If Jiang Xin planned on overthrowing her, it would do her little good.

"Anything else?" she questioned.

"Nothing for now. Li Jun is sure that the police will call for you today. He'll be accompanying you to the station. If you would give me Miss Mo Yize's number, I would inform her as well."

There was silence.

"No need. Li Jun has her number already. He'll talk to her. You take some rest. We have a hectic day ahead of us." She groaned after she hung the phone up.

Dressed in her tan suit, she looked prim and proper, nothing like the psychotic vixen the world was making her out to be.

She walked to the living room and found it empty. Her car was out of order, so she needed a lift to her office. With no one in sight, Qian Meng could only call Mo Qingchen.

He was no doubt busy with work and probably would work for a few more days from home. But she found herself hoping to go to the office together.

Despite what they discussed the night before, she still got the impression that he had boundaries against showing off in front of people.

His mood swings and mixed signals were out of control and she would feel dizzy soon enough.

Qian Meng glanced at the time and frowned. She called again but he still didn't pick up. That was odd.

If something had come up, he would surely have cut the call and texted her saying he was busy.

Now, Qian Meng remembered that he hadn't looked good the night before. Maybe he overslept. At least, she hoped that was the case and that he wasn't balking or avoiding her.

She spotted Xiong Hua. "Miss Yun, how can I be of assistance?" she asked, walking towards Qian Meng.

"Oh, you're here." She looked back at the hallways and then to the woman. "Have you heard from Mo Qingchen this morning? I can't get a hold of him on the phone."

"I am afraid I have not," she paused. "He hasn't called me to ask for breakfast, either. Perhaps he had urgent business to tend to?"

"No," Qian Meng shook her head. "He would have informed me if that was the case." She dialed his number yet again. Nothing. "Can you show me to his room?" she asked politely.
