"What are you doing here?" Heigan asked with a light suspicious in his eyes.

Aren raised his hands and said, "I was here for a similar reason as all those adventurers. In fact, I was the one who foiled their schemes by destroying the altar and barrier. Otherwise, those two hundred people would've been killed and fed to that cocoon."

"So it was you! You fucking bastard!" Baken roared with anger.

Aren smiled at him and nodded, "thanks for the testimony," turning to duke Heigan, he said, "as you can see, I am not with them."

"Mhmm," duke Heigan nodded to Aren before he turned to the cocoon, "however, the problem remains."

Aren nodded, but he looked at the two brothers and said, "I believe they have an object that can change this situation. It looks like a blood-red crystal, and I think it's important and related to this situation."

"You!!..."

Both brothers became livid as they looked at Athan with a gaze as if he had just killed their parents.

Seeing their expression, Heigan's face became stern as he said coldly, "Take it out, and I will spare your life."

The two brothers turned silent, but the maddening expression on their faces intensified.

"Arghhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!"

Suddenly, both brothers cried loudly as a red blood crystal flew out and absorbed both brothers in a second.

Everything happened fast as Heigan and Aren didn't expect that something like this would happen.

"Contain the crystal!" Aren shouted hurriedly.

Duke Heigan waved his hands as he created a dome of vines around the crystal and superimposed it with a redwood barrier that had a magical emerald pattern.

"The crystal won't do the same thing to us...If it was possible, they would have done it," Heigan said.

Aren nodded, "They must have some sort of contract or connection with crystal. But what now?"

"This is my strongest defensive skill, and from what I see, the crystal is not moving," Heigan said with a frown. He doesn't know what is going to happen with that crystal since it's not moving.

However, after three seconds, the crystal moved...and it moved like a bullet, easily breaking out of the defense of Heigan before going straight towards the cocoon.

The crystal disappeared in the cocoon, and right after that, Aren got a quest update.

[Emergancy Quest: Wave of Corruption.]

-->Task 1: Stop the resurrection of Currepted Orc Lord or Defeat it after it is resurrected.

--> Task 2: Survive and contribute to the defeat of the Blood Hexa Entity before this whole area gets corrupted by its corrupted evil energy.

Aren hurriedly focused on the cocoon and got its information.

'Hmm? It's not finished? then why did the task mentioned to defeat it?' Aren thought with confusion.

However, the blood threads surrounding the cocoons started to converge rapidly and were absorbed into the cocoon soon after that.

A pulsing invisible wave released from the cocoon, making Aren a bit dizzy before he puked as he felt sick.

Heigan felt the same, but he resisted this sickly evil pulsing wave coming from the cocoon and looked at Aren before waving his right hand towards him.

The barrier blocked the pulsing wave but not entirely.

"Do you have any spinergy method?" Heigan asked Aren.

Aren nodded with a churning stomach and while feeling dizzy.

"Sit crossed-legged and start circulating spirit energy according to that method; it will help you a bit. If the spinergy method is Exeed grade or higher, this pulsing wave won't do anything to you."

Aren nodded as he sat down crossed-legged and started circulating the Yakum's Spinergy Method.

He took one hundred spirit energy to do the first circulation faster and indeed. After one circulation, the dizziness along with the sick feeling stopped.

Aren then looked at the cocoon as it was changing shapes as if something inside it was moving around.

Suddenly, his face changed, 'It changed...'

"I think...I should run," Aren said with a weak smile as he jumped on his sword and floated. The cocoon was still moving, and the entity inside it hadn't come out, but Aren didn't want to wait for it to come out.

"Wait, can you pass this token to Jeralt and tell him to contact the kingdom? Tell him about the dire situation here," Heigan spoke with a dignified expression, "I will try to stop this thing as long as I can."

After saying that, duke Heigan threw a token towards Aren.

Aren caught the token as he nodded with a solemn expression and looked at duke Heigan before saying, "I will go with my full speed, so....be careful."
