Chapter 1435  Battle In the Ruins

Approaching the ruins fully prepared to be ambushed at any moment, Chu Yang soon came to realize that his worry was for nothing, as he managed to enter the ruins without encountering any problems along the way.

Not just that, but even after he started exploring the ruins, he didn't encounter any attacks. Instead, he just ended up finding more signs of battle the deeper he moved inside the ruins. Indicating that the battle that had taken place just outside of the ruins seemed to have moved into the ruins at some point in time.

Of course, even if he didn't get ambushed, Chu Yang didn't dare lower his guard, as outside of the potential ambush from Domain Lord Realm cultivators who had entered the secret realm ahead of him, he also had to worry about the potential dangers of the demon beasts or other creatures lurking inside of the secret realm.

After all, the part of the secret realm that he currently found himself inside of was an area that had not been explored during past openings of the secret realm for obvious reasons, as it would have been impossible for someone in the Nascent Soul Realm to reach his current location.

Even if it was rather simple for him to do, that was mostly due to his strength being at the Peak of the Seventh Stage of the Domain Lord Realm.

If any Nascent Soul Realm cultivator tried doing the same as what he had done, it would not only take weeks to travel the distance he had travelled in the span of a few hours, but they would also have to deal with the constant attacks of the powerful Domain Lord Realm demon beasts and seemingly endless living grass.

All things considered, it was only possible to reach his current location in the span of time he had with a cultivation strong enough to fight off the living grass and intimidate the Domain Lord Realm demon beasts living on the grass plains from attacking him, a level of strength that would normally at least mean someone had to be at the Ninth Stage of the Domain Lord Realm.

In a sense, outside of the scars of battle that had been left behind all over the place, it was this method Chu Yang used to determine that the strength of the Domain Lord Realm cultivators who had come here before him had at least reached the Ninth Stage of the Domain Lord Realm.

Of course, he could still be wrong, as it could also just be someone like himself who was stronger than a normal Domain Lord Realm cultivator.

Shaking his head as he thought about this while moving deeper into the depths of the ruins, Chu Yang could not help slowing down ever so slightly upon realizing that the battle scars from the battle that had taken place inside of the ruins at the base of the mountain seemed to still have a powerful power lingering around them. Showing that they had been left behind extremely recently.

Not a few hours ago, but more like a few minutes ago.

Meaning that there was a very real possibility that the battle that had moved from the edge of the ruins at the base of the towering mountain and into the depths of the ruins might still be ongoing at this very moment… And if that was really the case, he didn't want to do anything that might give his presence away to these two powerful Domain Lord Realm cultivators who were fighting each other to the death.

Not so much because he feared engaging in battle with, no, he would very much enjoy a battle with someone so strong. Instead, it was because he felt curious about what might have caused these two powerful Domain Lord Realm cultivators to start fighting to the death like this.

After all, there should be a reason why these two Domain Lord Realm cultivators suddenly started fighting each other to the death.

As he thought about this and deliberately restrained his own strength to make himself harder to notice, Chu Yang soon felt two powerful powers colliding with each other in the distance further up the mountain.

Turning to look in the direction where he felt this collision of power, Chu Yang could barely make out two figures violently clashing with each other amidst the ruins. Destroying large parts of the barely standing buildings in the process, as they rained down attacks on each other without any restraints. Not caring the slightest bit about what kind of demon beasts or creature might be attracted by their battle in the process.

"Eighth Stage of the Domain Lord Realm and Ninth Stage of the Domain Lord Realm, though… The one at the Eighth Stage of the Domain Lord Realm actually seems like they are winning? Interesting…" Narrowing both of his eyes as he muttered this to himself while looking in the direction of the battle that was taking place in the distance, Chu Yang could not help feeling a bit surprised after discovering that one of the two people fighting was actually at the Eighth Stage of the Domain Lord Realm. n/o/vel/b//in dot c//om

However, more surprising than that was the fact that the one winning the battle was actually the one at the Eighth Stage of the Domain Lord Realm, with the one at the Ninth Stage of the Domain Lord Realm seemingly being pushed back and only able to defend against the relentless attacks of the Eighth Stage Domain Lord Realm cultivator.

Not just that, but after a closer inspection, he also discovered that the Ninth Stage Domain Lord Realm cultivator seemed to have had one of his hands cut cleanly off and was unable to recover it under the relentless attack, being forced to fight back with his last remaining arm.

"Indeed impressive, I would like to fight that person if possible…" Muttering this to himself as both his eyes shone for a brief moment, Chu Yang quickly shook his head and focused his attention back on the matter at hand.

Before fighting that person, he first had to try and figure out what had caused the battle between the two in the first place.

Given that neither of the two had the energy to pay attention to their surroundings, he might get a chance to snatch the thing the two of them were fighting for before either of them had a chance to stop him.

As for launching a sneak attack to try and take out the two of them directly…? Chu Yang didn't think that this would be possible, as even if he could hide himself, he doubted that he would be able to get anywhere near the two of them, as the destruction they caused to their surroundings would reveal his presence the moment he got within a few thousand meters of them.

At that point in time, not to mention succeeding in an ambush, the two of them might decide to gang up on him and deal with this outsider before resuming their battle again.

Although he was confident in his own strength, he was ultimately still at the Seventh Stage of the Domain Lord Realm and didn't feel fully confident in being able to fight off two Domain Lord Realm cultivators comparable to the Ninth Stage of the Domain Lord Realm.

Even more so considering that those two might not be the only ones present in the ruins, there might be others like him. Hiding while trying to assess the situation.

Maybe they might also be trying to target the thing that caused those two powerful Domain Lords to fight to the death.

All things considered, the best action would be for him to figure out what had caused the fight and then assess the danger of the situation before acting.

After all, if he found what they were fighting for and just recklessly rushed in to try and take it for himself, he might end up becoming the target of not only the two he could see fighting in the distance, but also those who might be lurking in the shadows looking for an opportunity to strike!

With all of that in mind, Chu Yang narrowed his eyes ever so slightly as he slowly begins to proceed towards the battle in the distance. Making sure to keep an eye out for any other Domain Lord Realm cultivators along the way.

In the end, it didn't take him long to realize that there were indeed others like him, hiding in the shadows.

Luckily, those people didn't deliberately attack him and just ignored him. All of the people he encountered seemed to have the same goal in mind, none of them willing to make the first move to disturb the current delicate situation where only the two most powerful people present inside the ruins seemed to fighting each other to the death over something that he still hadn't managed to figure out yet.
