Disappointment and robbers
"CRAAACK!"
The impact caused the scales I struck splinter and the ribs underneath that layer of skin to break and bow inwards puncturing the monsters lung causing it to spit out blood as the lung filled with the stuff before it got expelled as the beast tried to breath. My flames were ravenously scorching the beast as well as the more vulnerable parts like the wings leather and the eyes were consumed greedily.
"RAAH!"
The monster tried to roar but it was watery and pathetic from the blood in it's lung and throat. In a desperate bid to survive the monster thrashed about which I leapt up to avoid as well as line up my next attack. Twisting midair I brought down the blunt end of my weapon onto the spine of the beast using my full strength and gravity this time.
"CRUNCH!"
The scales shattered but the spine didn't break though the monster collapsed from the force. I was a little disappointed at how easy this was so far but I admit that might just be because I actually was higher up the food chain than it was. Sure we could both be considered level two but the guild based this monsters power off a normal level two with B rank stats across the board when they had leveled up.-
Comparing such a being to myself was laughable to say the least since I had leveled up to two with truly maxed stats across the board. Compared to the seven hundred or so of B rank stats I was nearly three times higher up than that upon leveling up. To the three watching this pathetic display on the infant dragons part they likely thought i was level three or even higher when we were actually the same level.-
By the time the monster finally had enough bullying and died I was pretty sure they had given up any desire to clash with me over the loot. In fact when I removed the magic stone from the corpse they watched on and didn't say anything even after the large amount of smoke flowed right into me through my tattoos. As far as drops went I got a fang and about a dozen scales that were intact and another dozen not so intact, well and the magic stone that was the size of a coconut.-
"Clap clap clap"
The sound of hands meeting rang out slightly in the distance beyond where I could see thanks to the dense mist of the twelfth floor. Moments later a party of five men with jeering faces and greedy looks walked out of the mist to where I could see them. I frowned when I saw their souls that shown with sinful nature and many sins related to greed, lust and violence. I'd be an idiot if i didn't realize that they were here to either rob or murder me if not both.
"That was a wonderful show you just put on but you must be dreadfully tired after using so much magic right? Why not just leave that bag here with us to hold onto and take a nice long nap?" the guy clearly leading the group said with a not very friendly smile.
I couldn't help laughing at this though as I realized that this group of robbers thought those flames were from me using magic. If that were actually true I might have been worried but the thing is those flames were from yesterday when I made that grenade. In other words I was sitting at a full tank of energy right now and they thought i was unable to use the flames against them.
"Looks like we have an arrogant one fellas lets take care of the leftovers before we teach him the real way of things." the leader guy said cruelly as the smile fell from his face.
The party swarmed towards the three who were here earlier that raised their weapons fearfully to fight off the enemies. I smirked coldly from my position though and with a wave of my hands sent out hell fire in a wide arc to encircled all of us in a ring of fire.
"Impossible! You should be near mind zero after using so much magic!" The leader exclaimed in horror.
"Oh you would certainly be correct if it wasn't for the fact THOSE flames were from a magic item and not me. You lot have three options now, first you surrender quietly and I drag you all to the guild. Second you try to flee and all die in agony as my flames devour you. Finally you all try and fight me at which case I'll kill all but one of you. The last one still gets dragged to the guild though. Oh wait silly me I forgot about the fourth option, you kill yourselves before I can catch you. Like tag but for keeps." I said with a casual smile.
"I refuse to believe you can take on all of us at once get him gu- URK!" The leader went to say only to be cut off as one of his party put a blade through his chest, killing him.
I raised an eyebrow at this in surprise before they person who stabbed him which was a slimy looking human man spoke.
"Bastard was about to get all of us killed. Those flames made even an infant dragon helpless and you think fighting against the guy who can summon more is a good idea? Die on your own but I'll take the guild over death any day!" he said spitting on the still warm corpse.
"Daamn~ Welp Rip that guy, that was cold as shit man. Still I can feel your sincerity so if you just toss your weapons over that nice wall of fire there and walk over to me slowly with your hands where I can see them at all time you'll live past today. Try anything funny and I'll reduce you to ashes before you can blink though." I said calmly.-
All four of the remaining robbers did as I said and tossed their weapons over the wall of fire flinching as the flames flared up and started consuming them. When they arrived close enough i had them lay down on their stomachs with their hands behind their backs. One of them tried to reach for a hidden weapon at that point, likely a throwing dagger, and paid the price with their life. Oddly i didn't feel anything after killing a person for the first time and I couldn't help but wonder if this was a side effect of my becoming more closely intertwined with cursed energy.-
Sure I had grown desensitized to killing monsters but a person was a whole other sort of thing as far as I am concerned. I thought that I'd feel sick or something but my emotions didn't waiver even a little which was disturbing to recognize. The last three robbers got tied up with some of the rope I always carried on me after I searched them for held out weapons.
