[Vol.4] Quest 330.6- Hearth’s Yearning
Hestia Familia home.
After Freya gave up three of her authorities for Gersemi, she informed Bell.
In the living room were Freya, Bell, Hestia, Ais, and Haruhime. The rest of the Familia were off doing their own business.
"R-really!?" Bell said, surprised.
"Yes. You should know what I did," Freya said in Syr’s appearance for precaution.
"Freya! You should have told us before you went and did this!" Hestia shouted. "And... and to do what you did is a crime against the gods!! Even if Dionysus and Miach were compliant with this abomination! Then there is Cirrus! How would Artemis even react to this—"
"This was my reward for helping Cirrus and Dionysus with a project." Freya crossed her legs. "And since we are sisters-in-law's, I won’t snap back at what you called my child, Hestia." Freya’s eyes were as sharp as a knife.
"Geh! Hmm…" Hestia mauled around it for a bit before calming herself. "Haa… Freya… Whatever. What is done is done. Though it’s hard to believe there are two Demigods in—Thud!!"
Ais quickly bonked Hestia’s head.
"Hestia!" Haruhime said.
"Sorry!" Ais said regretfully.
"Hmm…" Freya grinned a bit. "No need to hide it; Cirrus told me long ago when I saw the child with my own eyes when she was brought to Orario. I must appreciate the length of time you kept that between you all." She nods her head.
"Frey, I am..." Bell was rubbing the back of his head. "I am sorry we didn’t tell you. Cirrus told a very small number of people to help ensure her heritage is never known."
"He also never mentioned anyone that knew," Hestia added.
"Yes, a month after I became a mother," Ais said. "Bell and Cirrus told me of Callisto’s origins. I knew why he didn’t say anything. If anything, I was surprised Bell kept it a secret for so long."
"Fufu," Haruhime said. "Yes, Bell isn’t very good at keeping secrets."
"That and Cirrus’s threats," Hestia said. "I've never seen such scary eyes since, well, Hera."
"Well, rest assured, me and him are not just accomplices but good friends of the best kind." Freya smiles from ear to ear. "My, it has been a while since I could call someone, and I almost forgot the name!"
"But um, Freya..." Hestia was fidgeting with her fingers a bit. "I know I lambasted you a bit about how you went about it, but... um."
"I am sorry, Hestia, but unlike me, you do not have a disguise to fool the other gods."
"…" Hestia clenches her fists.
"But... talk with Cirrus and Dionysus." Freya smiled. "I am sure there will be a time when you will be able to have a child with the one you love."
"Come on, Bell!" Hestia stands straight up. "Let's go!!!" Hestia quickly runs off.
"Hestia!! Wait!!" Bell chases after her. "Why are you faster than me?"
While the two of them left, Haruhime came and sat before her.
"So Frey," Haruhime said. "Have you thought up some names if they are a boy or a girl?"
"I only have a name for them if she is a girl. Bell will have to pick a name for them if they are boys. But the name I chose for them is Gersemi, treasure."
"It’s similar in naming to Artemis naming her daughter Callisto," Ais said.
"Yes, and I understand fully why she gave her the name that means most beautiful, for when the child is born, they will be my treasure."
Moonlight Tower a while later.
"So!" Hestia said to Cirrus. "About Freya…"
Cirrus was currently working in his office.
"You want to use the same process as Freya, right?" Cirrus said, doing some paperwork.
"Um… If it’s too much, we under—"
"It’s not. Bell." Cirrus said, looking up at him and Hestia. "Well, that’s a lie. It takes a considerable amount of resources. Plus, how would you explain this to a kid who looks like your biological child? Freya has her disguise as Syr to make it work, but you, Hestia?"
"Geh… You're not wrong." Hestia said. "But couldn't you make a magic tool like a mask to hide their appearance?"
"Look." Cirrus puts his pen down. "First of all, I can, but then I would be giving her some dysmorphia on her face. Can you wake up one morning and not see yourself?"
"Very fair point."
"Having Callisto's hair be white and with some fox ears is still a bit determinantal in my opinion, but she still has her natural face. At most, it would be like dying your hair for years with a certain color, and then one day it's back to normal. Still a bit freaky, but nothing one can't get over with time. Two, I am not going to say no to you two, alright? The only thing stopping this process is, well, the gods of Orario. Also, maybe the sin of stepping into God's territory, but, hey! If you ask Dionysus and get him on board, then the day when Callisto’s or even Freya’s child is revealed, you guys can have your love child."
"Really!!" Hestia said, smiling.
"Yes. But it will probably be years or so. I would preferably like to hide Callisto’s lineage for as long as I can. You understand this, right?"
"Of course! We can wait right, Bell!" Hestia looked at him, holding his hand.
Bell could see the happiest expression on Hestia that he had ever seen.
"Hm! Of course! Hestia!"
"That's nice." Cirrus cut into their moment. "Unless you two wanna help me can you guys leave? I need to finish this so I can spend some time with my own kids and wives."
