DC: I'm The Ultimate Lifeform

Chapter 40: Chapter 40

Chapter 40: Chapter 40

{Sorry for the late update, I was sick last week.

And a bit of explanation for why things are going so fast. It's simply because all of this is the origin story. I had planned for things to reach chapter 50 or so before the real story began. But while I was sick, my energy to continue this almost died out, so in about 2 to 4 more chapters, the true story will start.}

"So, shouldn't we just go after them?" I asked, watching as Batman continued tapping away on his computer, his focus unwavering.

He didn't look up, his tone calm and measured. "Rushing in without understanding the situation would be reckless. Evil Batmen are already moving through the multiverse, but the question remains, what would they want with a weaker version of our Superman?"

"Maybe they're just trying to add more diversity to the Batman fan club," I said with a smirk. "Who knows? They might be trying to avoid getting canceled."

Batman stopped typing, his head turning slowly to fix me with one of his signature glares. It was the kind of glare that could silence most people.

"Get serious. We need to figure out their plans," Rogue said, her tone sharp with impatience.

I rolled my eyes, these heroes were always so serious, always sticking to the rules. No wonder they were so boring.

"By the way," Rogue continued, her eyes narrowing slightly, "where are the Fates? Those three sisters could be useful right now."

I scratched my head, frowning as I realized I hadn't seen them in a while.

"Odd," I muttered, my frown deepening. "Maybe I didn't get lost because of a poor sense of direction after all..."

The thought gnawed at me, the realization settling like a weight in my chest. Someone was manipulating me-pulling strings from behind the scenes. The idea didn't sit well with me.

Not one bit.

"Something seems off..." Zeus muttered, his gaze fixed on the glass tub that imprisoned the three sisters—the Fates. His brow furrowed as he turned to face Doctor Doom, suspicion flashing in his eyes.

"Yes," Doom replied calmly, his tone almost detached. "Things are going too smoothly... wouldn't you agree?"

Before Zeus could react, Doom pressed a hidden button on the control panel in front of him. In an instant, Zeus staggered, a sharp gasp escaping his lips as he felt his divine power being ripped away.

"No... what is this?!" Zeus roared, his voice trembling with both fury and disbelief. Tendrils of energy surged from his body, siphoning into Doom's outstretched hand.

"You backstabbing bastard! We had an agreement!" Zeus roared, lightning crackling around him in a furious storm. But his strength, rapidly draining, was no match for Doom's ever- growing power.

Doctor Doom stood tall, his presence radiating absolute authority. "Doom does not work with fools," he said coldly, his voice like the edge of a blade. "A weapon that has lost its use... well, it isn't much of a weapon at all, is it?"

Before Zeus could muster another word, he found himself confined in a glass tub, identical to the one holding the Fates. His heart pounded as he realized the depth of his mistake. Doom had preyed on his fear, using it to manipulate him—and now, that fear had led him to this. Zeus's once-mighty presence was reduced to trembling silence as Doom turned away, already planning his next move.

"The power of the Source," Doom muttered, staring at his palms as arcs of lightning danced across them. His voice carried a mix of fascination and triumph. "Such... interesting power."

He turned slowly, his gaze shifting to the shadows. From the darkness, the Batman Who Laughs stepped forward, his sinister grin stretching wide beneath his spiked cowl.

"Get everything ready," Doom commanded, his voice cold and absolute. "First, I will rule this verse. Then... the rest of the Omniverse."

The Batman Who Laughs gave a low chuckle, his eerie laughter echoing as he began tapping away at a nearby computer. In that instant, the Fates, still imprisoned in their glass tub, let out a collective cry as their power was forcibly drawn forth.

Simultaneously, across key points in the Metaverse, brilliant researchers-some unknowingly manipulated-began replicating the steps that had once created Doctor Manhattan. Their experiments, their breakthroughs, and their unwitting ambitions were all converging toward one singular point.

All of it would lead back to one man.

Doctor Doom.

"Found them!" Batman cried out, his voice sharp with urgency as his eyes locked onto the computer screen. The device pinpointed one universe... then another... and another.

The display kept expanding, more and more universes lighting up across the map in rapid succession. Batman's jaw tightened as the sheer scale of it became clear. He took a step back, his gaze scanning the countless universes now illuminated before him.

"What... what is this?" he muttered under his breath, his usually steady voice tinged with unease. The pattern wasn't random-it was calculated, deliberate. Every highlighted universe seemed connected, but to what end, he couldn't yet say.

The others stepped closer, their own expressions shifting from curiosity to dread as the enormity of the multiversal web unfolded on the screen.

"They're not just random," Wanda-the Scarlet Witch-muttered, her voice low and filled with unease. Her crimson aura flickered faintly as her eyes glazed over, a vision of the future unfolding before her.

"No," she continued, her tone sharpening. "Doom... he's created a power source in all of these universes. Every one of them is connected, feeding into him, all to fuel his transformation into something like that blue humanoid-Doctor Manhattan."

Her words sent a chill through the room. The revelation was staggering, and the weight of it settled heavily on everyone.

"We need to move, now," Flash said, his voice tinged with panic. He wasn't alone-most of the group shared his unease, their fear amplified by the memory of how easily I'd been one-

shotted earlier.

But I waved them off with a sigh. "Naw, I'll handle it myself."

Before they could argue, I shifted forms, transforming into a 5th-dimensional imp. The world around me shimmered and bent as I prepared to locate the root of the chaos spreading across the multiverse.

Then I froze.

My eyes widened in disbelief as I realized something was wrong. Terribly wrong. I couldn't access my power-not even a fraction of it. It wasn't just me. The entire 5th dimension had gone dark, its infinite energy snuffed out.

The reason hit me like a thunderbolt: the concept of imagination, the very foundation of the 5th dimension's existence, was gone. Without it, the dimension was powerless.

I flashed, returning to my base form for a brief moment. Then, with a sharp slap to my chest, a surge of green light erupted around me. The energy twisted and expanded, reshaping me into the ultimate version of myself.

Standing over ten feet tall, my body was covered in golden-red fur reminiscent of Sun Wukong, leaving only my face and chest bare. Jagged bone spikes jutted out from my shoulders, elbows, and knees, each one gleaming with an otherworldly sheen.

I looked myself over, a grin spreading across my face. "Damn," I said with a laugh, flexing slightly. "I look evil as hell. Imagine waking up and seeing this at the foot of your bed." "Broly, really?" Rogue asked, her tone laced with disbelief. Clearly, she didn't think this was the time for such theatrics.

I laughed awkwardly, scratching the back of my head, thanks to this form, I realized that I might have accidentally adapted myself into having supercharged ADHD. The inability to

focus was almost unbearable.

"Alright, let's fix that," I muttered, quickly undoing the unintended adaptation.

Closing my eyes, I activated my Fiery Golden Eyes, a power that rendered me nearly omniscient. Everything below the Sphere of the Gods was laid bare before me, every secret, every hidden corner of existence illuminated in my sight.

I scanned across countless realms, my gaze darting between fragments of chaos, until I found it: the Lord of Dreams. He was trapped, imprisoned in a secret underground basement, known only to Doom. The room radiated ominous energy as Doom meticulously studied the Lord of Dreams' power, no doubt planning how to twist it to fuel his ambitions.

"...I'm too overpowered," I said with a sigh, shaking my head. With a casual wave of my palms, a flash of energy erupted across countless universes. The many labs poised to create beings with Doctor Manhattan's powers were obliterated in an instant, their structures crumbling into nothingness.

Simultaneously, the glass jar imprisoning the Lord of Dreams shattered, unleashing his pent- up fury. The room where Doom stood erupted in chaos as the Lord of Dreams turned his wrath upon the stunned and completely unprepared villain.

"Well, that's handled," I said, dusting my hands off. "Now, time to deal with the gods.

Ultimate Broly out."

In the blink of an eye, I disappeared, reappearing before the imprisoned Zeus. I smirked at

him, enjoying his look of disbelief for a moment, but the amusement quickly faded as my

gaze shifted to the side.

Standing there, calm and unbothered, was Doctor Manhattan.

"Time's up," Doctor Manhattan said, his voice calm and absolute, leaving me momentarilyn/ô/vel/b//in dot c//om

speechless.

"One day didn't even pass since we met," I muttered, genuinely baffled. But Manhattan paid no attention to my words, his gaze fixed on the sky above.

I followed his line of sight, and my own eyes widened as I saw it—a massive crack splitting through the fabric of space itself. The tear shimmered with an unsettling glow, a gateway leading outside the DC multiverse, to something far beyond its borders.
