Demonic Dragon: Harem System

Chapter 296 [Meet Elizabeth Tepes]

On the way to Scarlet's mansion.

Cassandra didn't take her eyes off Strax. Unlike other vampires, she wasn't foolish. It was obvious that something unusual happened whenever Strax interacted with the world around them.

After all, he had just put a large part of an extremely dangerous city under pressure like it was nothing. Of course, she was still his wife, but she was also the most grounded, the one more tied to reality. Even though she knew a bit about the System, she was still extremely nervous and anxious about what might happen, which led her to be extremely cautious.

Strax, for his part, noticed Cassandra's vigilant gaze and understood exactly what she was trying to figure out. However, he didn't care, nor was he willing to explain what he had done; who cared? But actually...

'What a cool ability... so I can fuse abilities by merging them in the same place... Fufufu!' He was still thinking about his new ability, [Absolute Domain].Nôv(el)B\\jnn

A control ability that surpassed anything he had, even the ability "King of Lust Asmodeus" wasn't as strong as Absolute Domain, something that truly felt like a recently acquired blessing. An ability that imposed his will on the weaker, something Strax really needed to deal with the idiotic weaklings effortlessly. Something that, honestly, had been appearing a lot recently, especially the pathetic bandits in the forest, but it was tiring to deal with.

"Cassandra, why are you watching us like that?" Daniela asked, frowning slightly.

"Now that Daniela mentioned it... Hey, Bitch, why are you looking at us like that? It's creepy!!" Belatrix exclaimed.

"..." Eleonor completely ignored Daniela and Belatrix, remaining silent for a few seconds before responding with a cold calmness.

"This guy, he's too strange." She cast a glance at Scarlet, who was walking casually beside her daughters. "But no one seems to care that he just instilled fear in half of an extremely dangerous city."

Daniela and Belatrix exchanged knowing looks before nodding at Cassandra's explanation.

However, Daniela's attention soon shifted, as always happened when something crossed her mind. "Hey, we need to buy some books about the human world. We'd better understand those four before we end up accidentally killing them," she said casually, without worrying about the weight of her words.

"By books, you mean novels?" Belatrix asked, flashing a mischievous smile that already betrayed her true intentions.

Daniela gave Belatrix a tired look. "Yes, novels... Or anything that keeps me from accidentally committing murder. Satisfied?"

Before Belatrix could respond with more teasing, Cassandra furrowed her brow and looked to the side. Something was wrong.

"Dear?" she called, blinking a few times, almost as if her eyes were playing tricks on her. Then her face hardened. She had lost sight of him for mere seconds, but that was enough.

"He's gone..." Cassandra murmured, incredulous.

"Wait... He disappeared!" Daniela exclaimed, looking around frantically.

"Husband?" Belatrix joined the impromptu search, scanning every corner as if he would simply reappear out of nowhere.

"Don't tell me he got lost," Cassandra sighed, rubbing her temples, her patience already tested.

"Maybe he was kidnapped," Daniela suggested, her expression now filled with exaggerated seriousness, as if already crafting elaborate theories.

"Impossible," Cassandra rebutted, crossing her arms. "With my mother's current attention on him, that wouldn't happen." Despite her confident tone, a slight hint of jealousy laced her voice, and both Daniela and Belatrix noticed.

Belatrix, however, couldn't resist the opportunity to tease. "Cassandra, could it be that you were the one who let him slip away while you were thinking about those books?"

Cassandra glared at her coldly. "Don't project your distraction onto me, Belatrix. If he's gone, the fault is clearly your chaotic influence."

Daniela simply sighed, placing her hands on her hips. "The only thing we know for sure is that he's gone. The question now is: do we go after him... or stick to the plan and wait for him to come back on his own?"

"Based on his history, I bet he wandered into some random shop because something caught his attention," Cassandra concluded, more exasperated than worried.

Belatrix shrugged, a playful smile on her lips. "Or he's recruiting someone for the harem. Again."

Daniela laughed, shaking her head. "At this rate, we'll need a map to catalog all his conquests."

Meanwhile...

"Hello, what the hell is this?" Strax asked with an irreverent grin, looking at a blood candy stall with a curious, yet uninterested expression.

"Huh? Oh, a newborn around here?" The vendor, a youthful-looking vampire, raised an eyebrow at Strax. "These are Crystalized Blood Candies, a popular treat among younger vampires. It's a blend of high-quality blood and a touch of magical sugar that creates crystals with a unique taste. Want to try?"

Strax glanced at the candies with calculated interest but quickly moved away with a crooked smile. "Crystalized blood? What a waste... I prefer something more... substantial." He shrugged, continuing on his way without further words.

Strax walked through the market, observing the stalls with curiosity, while the smell of fresh blood hung in the air, mixed with exotic spices. The various delicacies on display seemed like a true feast for the vampires' senses: exotic dishes, coagulated blood plates, blood soups, and even blood-based desserts, like jellies and cakes.

He stopped in front of a stall with a sign that caught his attention: Blood Burger, written in golden letters. The aroma was unmistakable, a mix of grilled meat and fresh blood, but with a peculiar touch of something exotic. Strax leaned in a bit closer to observe.

As he pondered whether to try it, a woman beside him approached the stall and casually ordered, "Two blood burgers, please."

The vendor, a nervous-looking vampire, glanced quickly at the woman, visibly uncomfortable. He was sweating cold, his eyes darting between her and Strax. It was obvious something was wrong. The vendor quickly began packing the burgers, but his hand trembled.

Strax didn't fully understand, but his gaze shifted to the woman, and in an instant, he felt a heavy, imposing aura around her. A pressure in the air, as if time had stopped.

'Cultivation at the Emperor Stage... she is...' Strax thought, not hiding his surprise. He could feel the strength of that powerful aura, something far beyond any common vampire.

The woman, seemingly aware of the impact she had on the environment, glanced sideways at Strax and smiled with an unsettling lightness. Before he could react, she spoke in an almost casual manner, but with a veiled threat in her voice:

"Staring at a Princess like this is considered a crime, you know?"

Strax raised his head, his eyes locking with hers with a calculated gleam and an unsettling calm. He could feel the tension in the air, as if everyone around them was eagerly awaiting his reaction. But instead of being intimidated, he let out a low chuckle, a mischievous smile forming on his lips.

"A Princess, huh?" He murmured with curiosity. "Good to know... I don't remember committing any crimes... yet." He took a step forward, keeping his eyes fixed on hers, as if challenging her authority. "Although I'm relatively new to this territory, I've heard of you... Elizabeth Tepes."

The woman raised an eyebrow, unfazed by the provocation. She looked at Strax with a mysterious smile before answering, unhurried, as she watched the vendor prepare her order.

"Ah, yes, I've heard of you too," she said with a carefree tone, as if the conversation were the most trivial thing in the world. "A man who came with Scarlet, and recently, you released an aura so devastating that even I felt it." She paused, as if considering her words, then continued, "Impressive, for someone 'new' around here."

Strax observed her calmness with interest. Despite the imposing aura she radiated, Elizabeth Tepes didn't seem fazed; on the contrary, she seemed entertained by the mental game. She was a princess, that much he knew, and her imperial aura made her an undeniable presence. But the way she spoke to him, almost teasingly, indicated that she wasn't someone easily intimidated.

"I'm not one to let a good conversation slip by without exploring it a bit further," Strax said with an enigmatic smile, taking a step closer. "But tell me, Elizabeth Tepes... Do you always treat others with such courtesy, or is this just for me?" He crossed his arms, his expression serious, but the tension in the air was still thick with anticipation.

Elizabeth didn't respond immediately. Instead, she glanced at the trembling attendant who was preparing her blood burgers. She seemed to have complete control of the situation, as if she were playing a silent game, testing Strax's limits.

"Maybe I have a little... respect for those who, like you, have something interesting to offer," Elizabeth finally said, never taking her eyes off Strax. "But, like any good princess, I like to keep things interesting." She took the burgers when the attendant handed them over, her voice becoming softer but still laced with subtle power. "Don't worry, you won't be considered a criminal... of course, if you don't join me for a meal, perhaps I'll put a price on your head." She flashed a predatory smile...
