Divine Monster Pet Evolution System

Chapter 2

C2 – The First Demonic Pet!

Chen Wu, a character who had crossed into another world, had been living as an Everyman for over a decade. Frustration was written all over his face!

But now that he was here, it seemed his life was about to take a turn for the extraordinary!

“System, what functions do you offer?”

“Is there a cultivation method that levels up just by walking? How about a Divine Weapon that can cleave mountains and rivers in one stroke? Or, at the very least, something that can turn me into The Supreme Almighty in a second?”

Chen Wu’s head was spinning with excitement as he bombarded the system with questions.

As a 21st-century homebody, Chen Wu had deeply studied the systems used by other transmigrated heroes. If his Golden Finger included all those features, he’d become a top-tier powerhouse in no time!

The System responded, “No.”

“Host, please refrain from unrealistic daydreams. I am the Super God Evolution System, summoned here by your accidental transmigration!”

“Given your current state of extreme weakness, with no cultivation level or Demonic Pet, none of the system’s functions are available. Please acquire your first Demonic Pet.”

“As this is your first time using the system, the Newbie Sign-In feature will be temporarily activated for seven days. Today’s sign-in reward: one Low Level Demonic Spirit Pill!”

Low Level Demonic Spirit Pill: Capable of raising a Bronze Level Demonic Beast by one Small Stage, with no usage limit.

“The system has now activated the following functions: Seven-Day Sign-In and Demonic Pet Information Recognition.”

“The term ‘Super God’ refers to achieving seven consecutive victories. Defeating a Beast Pet will earn ‘Exchange Points,’ which can be used to redeem items from the System Trading Store. Achieving Super God status grants a ‘Super God Point,’ redeemable for limited items in the system. The redemption feature will be unlocked later.”

[First Mission: Capture your first Demonic Pet.]

[Reward: One Low-Level Soul Sense Stone (contains a spirit cultivation method).]

……

The electronic voice delivered the instructions in a cold, official tone.

Chen Wu had an epiphany; the system’s rules were indeed straightforward.

Regaining his composure, he hesitated before saying, “System, even if I wanted to bind a Beast Pet, I’m at a loss. My Contract Spiritual Talisman has been stolen.”

“Ding! Once you’ve chosen a Demonic Beast, just inform the system (this is a one-time offer; activating the Demonic Pet slot means future captures will require an available slot).”

The system’s voice was icy.

“I see…”

A surge of happiness filled Chen Wu. The system truly was remarkable, and having a Golden Finger really made a difference.

“But system, considering my current battered state, where am I supposed to find a Demonic Beast?”

Chen Wu’s back was a bloody mess, his clothes shredded to tatters, revealing a deep, horrifying claw mark that had already scabbed over. Despite the intense pain that felt like tearing with every slight movement, Chen Wu’s unwavering determination kept him from even groaning.

“Figure it out on your own.”

The system remained detached.

Chen Wu sighed to himself.

Well, having a Golden Finger was a boon in itself, even if the system seemed a bit too serious.

In his current predicament, he gazed longingly at the turbulent Gold-sand River outside the mountain, hoping to spot a couple of formidable Water-type Demonic Beasts.

The system had offered to help him acquire a Demonic Pet for free, an opportunity he couldn’t afford to squander.

Moreover, there tended to be a greater number of Demonic Beasts in the water, which also meant greater danger. This was particularly true for the Gold-sand River, the notorious territory of the Armour Crocodile!

With no other options, Chen Wu could only hope to tame an Armour Crocodile to serve as his Beast Pet, which might also carry him to safety.

Yet, the Armour Crocodile’s dominance was confined to the water; its combat effectiveness and threat level on land were significantly diminished, even less than that of a Blood Wolf.

As dusk approached, the Armour Crocodile would typically surface to find a suitable resting spot for the night.

Patience pays off, and just as Chen Wu was grappling with pain and hunger, several logs drifted silently downstream in the Gold-sand River.

But upon closer inspection, one would realize that these were not logs at all. They were enormous crocodiles, their massive bodies submerged, with only their backs exposed, casting shadows at least three meters long!

Behold the Bronze Level Demonic Beast, the Armour Crocodile!

Despite being a Bronze Level creature, a Demonic Beast is still formidable. Having awakened its innate abilities and undergone enhancements, it can absorb the essence of Heaven and Earth, making its combat prowess astonishingly powerful.

The Armour Crocodile’s special talent is its “armor.” Its hide becomes as impenetrable as iron, impervious to the slashes of ordinary swords!

“If all else fails, I may have to subdue an Armour Crocodile.”

It’s not that the Armour Crocodile lacks strength, but given the choice, Chen Wu would prefer not to opt for one.

Even though it’s an amphibian with attack and defense capabilities that stand out among Bronze Level Demonic Beasts, its massive size also makes it cumbersome and an easy target.

Chen Wu favors demonic beasts that are more moderately sized and nimble.

So, as he watched seven or eight of them drift downstream, passing beneath the cliff where he stood, Chen Wu found himself in a quandary.

Suddenly.

“Screech!”

A piercing cry echoed through the dimly lit canyon, as a black eagle swooped in from a distance, stirring the air and causing the Armour Crocodiles to cautiously peer out from beneath the water with watchful eyes.

The eagle, with a wingspan stretching over a meter, exuded an extraordinary presence. Its speed was unmatched, and its feathers, as tough as black iron, shimmered with a metallic sheen. From high above, its piercing gaze swept over the landscape below, radiating a chilling green light.

“This is… the Iron-feather Eagle!”

Chen Wu had seen enough to recognize the creature. Although Demonic Pet Masters were a rare sight in this remote town, they weren’t entirely absent. Chen Wu had observed several hunting for demonic beasts while he was gathering herbs, and among them, he had seen masters with Iron-feather Eagles.

The Iron-feather Eagle is a prevalent Flight-type Demonic Pet, known for its aggressive nature and being notoriously difficult to capture.

The Iron-feather Eagle is fiercely independent. The one Chen Wu had previously encountered with a Demonic Pet Master had an aura that was profoundly intimidating, far more powerful than this one. Even from a distance, its mere gaze had instilled fear in Chen Wu.

Chen Wu was tingling with excitement. “A Flight-type Demonic Beast! System, can I tame it? I choose this one!”

“Ding! Flight-type Demonic Pet detected. Scanning in progress…”

[Creature]: Iron-feather Eagle

[Skills]: The Hawk Strike Force, Iron Claw, Feather Arrow

[Potential]: High-grade Bronze

[Level]: Bronze Grade 1

As the system announced its findings, a wealth of detailed information unfolded in Chen Wu’s mind, leaving him astounded. “System, you can scan the Iron-feather Eagle’s attributes? This is just like a game interface!”

“The system’s scanning feature is now active. It can scan any Demonic Pet and display its information for the host’s convenience in analysis.”

“Host, have you confirmed this Demonic Beast to be a Beast Pet? Once bound, the current Beast Pet slot will be unavailable unless the Beast Pet perishes.”

One becomes a true Demonic Pet Master by signing a Soul Contract with a Demonic Beast, establishing a profound connection with their Beast Pet. Without a Contract Spiritual Talisman, Chen Wu’s only option was to use the system’s complimentary one-time binding.

Chen Wu declared confidently, “I’m sure!”

His gaze was resolute and expectant as he watched the Iron-feather Eagle soaring high above.

“Ding! Binding in progress…”

“Binding successful!”

In a mere moment, Chen Wu felt a mysterious surge of energy from deep within his soul, followed by an extraordinary connection that seemed to tether his heart to the creature.

Simultaneously, the Iron-feather Eagle’s gaze shifted, locking onto Chen Wu hidden in the dark crevice beneath the cliff. He could sense the eagle’s initial bewilderment transform into instant warmth.

It was a success!

“I’ve actually become a Demonic Pet Master. This is my very first Demonic Pet…”

Overwhelmed with emotion, Chen Wu found himself at a loss for words. The complete fusion with the Iron-feather Eagle allowed him to share a heartfelt communion with the creature.

“Descend!”

At his command, the black eagle from the skies above swiftly swooped down, heading straight for Chen Wu at the base of the cliff.
