Chapter 26
C26 – Spirit Cultivating Pill
Zhou Yuyan approached Lee Tian and gently wrapped her arms around him, cradling him as one would a startled black kitten.
Her brow furrowed with concern.
“To the black ant in her embrace, she softly inquired, “Are you okay? Your injuries are severe; your right hand and feet are broken.”
She found the words too painful to continue.
Lee Tian, however, reveled in her tender care, yearning to assure her, “I’m fine!”
Noticing the black ant’s apparent excitement and vigor, Zhou Yuyan sighed, “Despite such grave injuries, your resilience is astonishing!”
Zhang Shan made his way over as the menace of the Swordtooth Tigers receded.
“Third Miss,” he greeted, joining Zhou Yuyan.
“Uncle Shan, take a look at this ant,” Zhou Yuyan said, presenting the black ant she held.
Zhang Shan’s eyebrows lifted slightly as he remarked, “It’s quite large.”
He then noticed the bite marks on Lee Tian’s rear, gave a couple of playful flicks, and expressed his surprise, “It’s very tough!”
Lee Tian, feeling the indignity of the flicks, glared at the rugged man, his pride wounded, “I have the strength!”
Zhou Yuyan, observing the black ant, shared reflectively, “Earlier, my sword unintentionally saved it, and in gratitude, it joined me in battle! To protect me from the Swordtooth Tigers, it fought desperately against them!”
Zhang Shan let out a slight sigh, “It’s a shame it’s merely a beast.”
Lee Tian bristled at the comment, a surge of anger rising within him. Breaking free from Zhou Yuyan’s hold, he attempted to wield his Scythe against Zhang Shan in retribution!
Quick on his feet, Zhang Shan dodged and quipped, “Could it be that he understands human language?”
Lee Tian’s fury was palpable as he glared at Zhang Shan, his thoughts seething, “I will cut you into eight pieces!”
“Ants can’t understand human speech; it was simply startled by you,” Zhou Yuyan interjected.
She then moved to a plush patch of grass, gently setting Lee Tian down before retrieving a green medicinal pill from her sleeve, urging him to take it for his recovery.
Upon witnessing the scene, Zhang Shan was startled and exclaimed, “Third Miss, that’s your Spirit Cultivating Pill!”
Zhou Yuyan replied, “It’s gravely injured. The Spirit Cultivating Pill might just save it.”
Zhang Shan’s face darkened as he protested, “It’s merely an odd ant. It doesn’t merit the use of such a valuable Spirit Cultivating Pill for its rescue!”
Lee Tian noticed Zhang Shan’s apparent attachment to the green pill and decided to provoke him.
He tilted his head forward, inching closer to the pill in Zhou Yuyan’s hand, and with a sudden bite, he gobbled up the pill she was holding!
Zhang Shan was too slow to intervene. The sight of the rare pill being devoured by an ant struck him as a tremendous waste.
Glaring at Lee Tian, he fumed, “This little creature sure has some nerve. It’s no ordinary ant; it must be a sly fox in disguise!”
As Zhang Shan seethed with anger, a sense of satisfaction washed over Lee Tian.
