Chapter 78 - 050 Feng Yin Yang
Chapter 78: Chapter 050 Feng Yin Yang
Saint Son Guyue looked at Yan Chuan in surprise.
"This is simple. I have a bottle of Prulu Nectar, which will heal them instantly!" Saint Son Guyue said with a smile.
As he spoke, he reached into his sleeve and pulled out a small bottle, gently pouring its contents. Under his control, the Prulu Nectar floated in mid-air, and with a light wave of his hand—
"Boom!"
The nectar dispersed and surged into the bodies of the suffering soldiers rolling on the ground. Immediately, their agony was greatly alleviated.
"Tell everyone to sit cross-legged and begin their cultivation," Yan Chuan instructed Huo Guang.
"Understood!" Huo Guang quickly went to relay the orders, and the soldiers of the Jin Yi Army sat down, cross-legged, to meditate and heal.
"Your efficiency is impressive, Saint Son. Yan Chuan is in awe!" Yan Chuan said with a smile.
"I've heard of you," Saint Son Guyue said, glancing at Yan Chuan with a knowing look.
"Oh?"
"They say you're quite astute. My Guyue Hall could use someone like you. Has Mister Wen Ruo already spoken to you about the trip to the Wind Demon Mountains?" Saint Son Guyue smiled knowingly.
Mister Wen Ruo, standing nearby, raised an eyebrow and shot a fiery glance at a robed man across the way. Yan Chuan caught the look and, following Wen Ruo's gaze, saw a rugged man with narrow eyes that gleamed with cold intent whenever they glanced at him.
"And this gentleman is?" Yan Chuan asked curiously.
Saint Son Guyue seemed mildly surprised by Yan Chuan's sharp intuition, impressed that Yan Chuan had quickly identified the person who had reported to him.
"This is Wei Jie, the leader of the Sun and Moon Alliance and a friend I've invited," Saint Son Guyue introduced.
"Leader of the Sun and Moon Alliance, Wei Jie?" Yan Chuan broke into laughter. "Ah, the Sun and Moon Alliance!"
Just a few days ago, Yan Chuan had killed five Qi Realm experts from the Sun and Moon Alliance, and now, here was their leader.
"You know him?" Saint Son Guyue asked, puzzled.
"My father's death involved the Sun and Moon Alliance. If you are allying with them for the Wind Demon Mountain expedition, I'll pass. Besides, as a mere Essence Realm cultivator, I'd only be a burden," Yan Chuan said, shaking his head in refusal.
"Oh?" Saint Son Guyue narrowed his eyes slightly, glancing between Wei Jie and Yan Chuan before smiling faintly. "Very well, I won't insist. I'll remember your assistance today, Yan Chuan. If you ever need help, you can always find me at the Great Zhaos Sacred Land."
"Thank you," Yan Chuan nodded.
"Inform everyone to head for the Wind Demon Mountains immediately!" Saint Son Guyue commanded.
"Yes, sir!" came the immediate response from the crowd.
With that, Saint Son Guyue soared into the sky, a cloud forming beneath his feet. The crowd scattered—some flew back toward the Immortal Palace to gather more cultivators, while others, unable to fly, leaped into the air, following behind as best they could. The procession, numbering in the thousands, left Liangjing nearly empty as most of the city's cultivators departed.
As he watched Saint Son Guyue and the others leave, Yan Chuan fell into deep thought.
"Sun and Moon Alliance leader, Wei Jie?" Yan Chuan narrowed his eyes.
While others were soaking in the healing effects of the Prulu Nectar, Yan Chuan returned to the table where the black-robed man had been sitting. The man had already left, but he had left behind three words, written in wine.
"Feng Yin Yang."
"Feng Yin Yang? Is that your name?" Yan Chuan wondered aloud, staring at the words on the table. With a casual wave of his hand, he wiped away the wine-drawn characters, smiling faintly. At least now, he knew the Feng Shui master's name—Feng Yin Yang.
Stepping out of the Ping Shan Tower, Yan Chuan surveyed Liangjing. The city had been reduced to rubble, and only a few survivors—those with strong life forces—remained, writhing in pain on the ground.
Yan Chuan did not blame Yao Tianshang for the massacre, for from different perspectives, the value of life varies. To humans, human lives are precious; to demons, it's the lives of demons. Destroying a city full of people was no different from slaughtering beasts, just as Yan Chuan had done many times before. It was, in a way, a routine affair.
However, Yao Tianshang was no ordinary figure. A great demon from the North daring to provoke a sacred land in the East? That was something.
"Whoosh!"
"Whoosh!"
One after another, cultivators flew into the ruined city, their eyes wide with shock. What had happened to Liangjing? Was it destroyed?
Yan Chuan paid no mind to the new arrivals, focusing instead on his subordinates who were slowly recovering. The first to stand were Jiu Jian Sheng and the Seven Sword Immortals, all of whom were of higher cultivation and thus recovered faster.
"Phew! That Prulu Nectar is incredible. I'm fully healed!" one of them exclaimed.
"No kidding! That stuff's priceless!" another responded.
Amid the chatter, Jiu Jian Sheng approached Yan Chuan with a strange expression.
"Shishu, you... you're not hurt at all?" he asked, his face complicated.
Yan Chuan smiled slightly but said nothing.
"Shishu, who would have thought that your Jin Yi Army could unleash such powerful sound techniques? Truly remarkable!" the Third Sword Immortal remarked with admiration.
"Indeed! Shishu, something big is bound to happen in the Wind Demon Mountains. Why don't we check it out?" the Fourth Sword Immortal said, his eyes gleaming with excitement.
At his suggestion, everyone turned to Yan Chuan, their eyes filled with hope and anticipation.
"What? You all want to go in?" Yan Chuan chuckled.
"Of course! With so many experts going inside, there must be something huge happening. Even if we don't get anything, it would still be exciting to witness!" the Third Sword Immortal said eagerly.
"Then why haven't you gone?" Yan Chuan asked.
"Ah, we want to! But our master won't let us," the Fourth Sword Immortal sighed.
"However, if you go, Shishu, we can follow," the Third Sword Immortal added with a smile, his tone flattering.
"Oh?"
"Master can't stop you, Shishu! He told us to protect you, so wherever you go, we go. As long as you're going, we can join in," the Third Sword Immortal said cheekily.
"Exactly! Exactly! Shishu, how about we go together?" the others chimed in enthusiastically.
"Enough of that!" Yan Chuan scolded with a laugh. "The Wind Demon Mountains are overrun with fleeing monsters. If we go in, we're only courting death. We'll stay at the outskirts and deal with whatever comes out. That's more than enough."
"Aw, come on, Shishu, just hear me out—"
Before the Fourth Sword Immortal could finish, two sharp cries echoed across the sky.
"Eh?" Everyone looked up.
A streak of azure light shot across the sky, moving incredibly fast. In no time, it had reached the skies above Liangjing.
"Such speed!" Jiu Jian Sheng exclaimed in astonishment.
The azure light paused in mid-air, revealing two enormous birds, each about thirty feet long, radiating a soft blue glow.
"Azure Luan birds?!" the Third Sword Immortal exclaimed, stunned.
The two beautiful Azure Luan birds hovered gracefully in the air, pulling a white carriage behind them. The carriage resembled a grand pavilion, with a wide platform encircling it.
On the platform stood ten men, all with stern, expressionless faces. At the front of the pavilion hung a curtain, which two maidservants slowly drew aside.
"Click, click, click!"
The ten men knelt in unison, their expressions solemn as they awaited the emergence of the person inside. Many onlookers were astonished—who could this be, arriving in such an extraordinary manner?
From within the pavilion, a woman in white slowly emerged. Clad in a flowing white gown, she resembled a pure and holy lotus. In her hand, she held a jade flute as she stepped gracefully onto the platform.
A gentle breeze tousled her long hair, making her appear even more ethereal.
Her complexion was fair and flawless, and though she was not as breathtaking as Meng Rongrong, her elegance and purity gave her an otherworldly charm that made it difficult for anyone to breathe in her presence.
"We're late. Let's continue our journey," she said softly, her lips barely moving.
"Chirp!"
"Chirp!"
The two Azure Luan birds responded with melodic cries, and their blue glow intensified as they pulled the carriage toward the Wind Demon Mountains.
Back at Ping Shan Tower, Jiu Jian Sheng and the Seven Sword Immortals watched in awe, captivated by the woman's beauty and grace.
Only Yan Chuan seemed to react differently. His eyes welled with tears, and his body trembled uncontrollably.
"Rouer? Is it really you?" Yan Chuan murmured in disbelief, staring at the holy figure on the Azure Luan carriage.
Memories flooded back, unbidden:
"What's your name? Mine is Zhen Rou."
"Who asked you to send me flowers? I don't like them... well, maybe I'll keep one."
"Marry me! You said you'd protect me forever!"
...
Yan Chuan's thoughts became a tangled mess as his heart, which had remained calm for so long, began to pound uncontrollably.
"Shishu, are you alright?" Jiu Jian Sheng asked, noticing Yan Chuan's abnormal state.
But Yan Chuan didn't respond. His eyes were locked on the figure in white.
Was it really her? Or just a hallucination?
"Zhen Rou!" Yan Chuan whispered, the name slipping from his lips like a prayer.
Suddenly, a golden dragon appeared in the sky, cutting through Yan Chuan's trance.
"Yan Chuan!"
