Chapter 66 Daddy First, Sibling Later 2
66 Daddy First, Sibling Later 2
He decided to just stay on the sidelines and observe how she would react to her children's displeasure, while he busied himself with a late breakfast, intending to finish it sooner so he could take a rest and sleep a little more on his bed later.
"Does Mommy know what she did wrong this time?" Xiao Bao asked, all serious as he confronted his mother. He was really cute with that serious expression, making it hard for Feng Tianyi to take the boy seriously.
"Yes, Mommy knows she is wrong this time. Mommy will promise that Mommy will never do it again." Tang Moyu felt guilty and horrible at the same time. This was the set of rules she had set, together with her children, and yet she was the one who kept on breaking it.
"What did Mommy do this time?" Little Star chimed in during her brother's interrogation.
Feng Tianyi saw the empress flinch on her seat and started to get uncomfortable. So, Tang Moyu really had a crazy drunk side, huh. He mused.
"Mommy came home too late last night," Tang Moyu confessed to her sins one by one. "Mommy also got drunk, even though your Uncle Ji reminded me not to do so." She glanced at him, hoping that her children wouldn't blame this poor man who might be implicated in this because of her foolishness.
"What else, Mommy?" Xiao Bao continued to probe, his chubby arms still crossed over his chest, as if telling everyone that he was the man of the house, that he was in charge right now.
"Mommy… Mommy got into bed with a man." She winced again at that. "But I swear nothing happened!" She added defensively.
Little Star frowned and turned to her older brother. "Yu Gege, what does Mommy mean by that?"
Hearing her daughter ask that question, Tang Moyu wanted to kick herself right then. Of course, her young, innocent children had no idea where babies came from.
"Silly, Little Star. Where do you think babies come from?" Xiao Bao replied and patted his sister's head, which made Tang Moyu internally scream at whoever was responsible for tainting her son's young mind.
He then turned his head back to confront his mother.
"Does Mommy remember what happened the last time she got drunk and passed out? Didn't Mommy end up having me and Little Star because of that?" He pointed out, leaving Tang Moyu speechless at her son's words.
"So then why did you end up sleeping with Uncle Ji? Were you and Uncle Ji planning to give me and Little Star a new sibling in the future?" Xiao Bao asked her with a straight face.
Feng Tianyi who was an innocent bystander, busy eating his meal, choked, and coughed hard into his hand once he heard what the little boy said to his mother. He didn't understand why Xiao Bao would think that way.
It took him some time before he calmed down from his shock. With teary eyes, he turned to look at the little boy who said those words without batting an eyelid. Damn, this kid was really something else! Feng Tianyi thought.
He started to wonder if Xiao Bao was really just a four-year-old kid with the way he speaks.
"Oh my god, Tang Feiyu! I can't believe you said such words to me, and that too in front of your Uncle Ji!" For the first time and without the influence of the alcohol, Tang Moyu snapped at her son and lost control of her emotions.
"Mommy, Yu Gege and I are just worried about you." Little Star said in defense of her twin brother and the little boy applauded his sister inwardly. They were really partners in crime.
"What if it wasn't Uncle Ji who slept with you last night? What if it was another man? We might be expecting a sibling without knowing about it. Siblings can wait, Mommy." Xiao Bao added. 'But we can't wait anymore for a daddy,' was what he left unsaid. He knew that their Mommy wouldn't be happy with them if she knew what was in his and Little Star's mind.
Was it really a bad thing for them to want a daddy? Daddy Ji, on top of that?
Mommy had no idea how he and Little Star were bullied by their classmates at the previous preschool they attended because they didn't have a daddy. Wasn't this why no matter how hard their Mommy tried to convince them to return to school, they would always decline?
Tang Moyu took a few calming breaths and shut her eyes, trying to reign back her emotions. She shouldn't have snapped at her children because they were just worried about her safety.
"Look. Mommy confesses and admits all of her wrongdoings last night, but you shouldn't… you don't need to worry about Mommy. Didn't I tell you it's Mommy's job to worry about the two of you and not the other way around?" She paused and saw both of her children nodded in agreement.
"Okay," Xiao Bao agreed. "but Mommy needs to make a pinky promise that she would never get drunk again." The boy lifted his right hand and offered his pinky to his mother, which Tang Moyu willingly took and made a promise and mental note not to mess up with alcohol and men at the same time ever again.
