Fallen Fate Online

Chapter 198 Katana

"Aaaaaaaaagh!!!! Please don't kill us!" The two buddies of the Redhead exclaimed pitifully, quickly scurrying away.

They did not forget their mate, and picked up Redhead, quickly leaving the hospital grounds. Zayne didn't chase them, his aim wasn't to beat up as many people as possible, all he wanted was to protect his sister, which meant no one was to enter the hospital that night.

There was silence for a while, Zayne just watched the situation, but nothing changed, on the contrary, the sounds of fighting gradually ceased.

'Hmm? What's going on...? Zayne inwardly muttered, looking at the few silhouettes running away. They weren't scared, but there was an absolute certainty on their faces that they needed to leave the hospital if they didn't want trouble.

Zayne didn't know it, but two videos of him dealing with the intruders had already hit news sites.

The reporter made his bet, he understood that after that many other journalists would be heading to the hospital because Zayne Fellen was a celebrity, especially now. However, he was already here and he had a cunning plan.

'Hah, I'm a real genius! I doubt the others will decide to use helicopters as brazenly as I do, it's too dangerous, so they'll waste a lot of time before they get here, but it's no problem for THEM.' The reporter inwardly muttered as a sly smirk appeared on his face.

"Boss... What's the matter with you?" The aide muttered with a confused expression.

"Nothing serious, don't worry. I'm just waiting for the other Players to show up. By the way, I think we need to find a better place to continue filming, don't you?" The reporter smirked.

The assistant nodded. He was already here, so he had no other option anyway.

They were simple people, and any random attack they weren't prepared for could have been dangerous for them. Especially considering that the Reporter expected certain people to come here.

Whooooooooooooooosh.

A minute later, as the reporter and his assistant went to look for safety, a black sports car stopped not far from the hospital.

"Well, well, it looks like Zayne is doing his job as a sentinel with ease, doesn't it?" Alex smirked as he looked at the ruined roads near the hospital. However, the building itself was not damaged in any way, every patient was safe.

"What are we going to do?" Galahan muttered uncertainly, "This whole situation is too strange. Should we help Zayne or should we just watch?"

Alex didn't answer right away; instead, he looked at Alice.

She crossed her arms over her chest and smirked, simultaneously their eyes sparkled as if they were thinking the same thing.

"Agh...? What's going on...?" Galahan was puzzled. He felt as if Alex and Alice could communicate through the power of thought, and everything passed him by.

"Don't worry. We just made a decision without further ado." Alex shrugged, "It's simple, we'll watch the show Zayne put on, we can't miss that."

Alice continued, "However if something really serious happens, we'll help him right away. Zayne may be the strongest at the moment, but he can't win if he's attacked by a lot of strong Players at once."

Galahan scratched his cheek, then he nodded as if he understood their intent.

Crackle.

Suddenly something fell on the car, it was simultaneously something heavy as the whole car shook, but it was also neat as the car remained unscathed.

"What the hell...!" Alex frowned, quickly becoming angry, but before he could do anything a shadow with long black hair and blue eyes appeared beside him. On his wrist was a bracelet with a silver cross on it.

Alex's corners of his mouth went up, "Well, well, who do I see? Alice, looks like your puppy decided to join us."

"Luke...? What are you doing here?!" Alice exclaimed. She totally didn't expect her partner she'd been working with for a long time to show up at a time and place like this.

Luke didn't answer anything, he just relaxed his legs, put his hands behind his head, and closed his eyes. He looked as if he were on the beach, relaxing in the warm sunlight.

"Agh... I just thought something was interesting going on here. I had to overhear your conversation, so I couldn't hold back any longer. I got to see Zayne Fellen fight with my own eyes." Luke said calmly, without even looking at Alice.

"But... How did you find me...?" Alice muttered in confusion.

Luke grinned, "Don't you think, as your personal security guard, I have any way of knowing where you are? I assure you, even if you run off into the woods completely naked, I'll find you by your footprints, and if there aren't any, by your scent."

Alice blushed, she just looked away, not trying to say anything else.

"Alex... It's been a long time..." Luke said, slightly unsure, his voice different now.

"Yeah, the best students are always both the worst and the most arrogant... I learned that because of you." Alex smiled.

Luke waved his hand as suddenly he pulled out of nowhere a packet of cookies, just the kind Alex liked.

"These are your favorites, right?" Luke smiled weakly, "I've been trying to get a little better lately, though if Alice hadn't made contact with you, there's no way I would have shown up in front of you."

Whoooooooooosh.

Alex grabbed the cookies with a confident grin, opening the packet sharply. He immediately began to enjoy them, though the main show had not yet begun.

"Do we know who the opponent will be yet?" Luke moved closer to the window.

"Nah." Alex shrugged, "We're just waiting. Zayne has almost no enemies among the Players since he's spent most of his time with NPCs, but I think a lot of people will want to fight him."

...

Ring! Ring! Ring!

The old-fashioned telephone rang as the man of middle age with a short gray beard picked it up. He wore an expensive suit, and on his wrist was a watch for the price of an entire house.

"I see... Mistress will be pleased." The man said briefly before hanging up.

The man walked through several rooms, opening wide oriental-style doors. As he did so, a pleasant scent burst forth from the various flowers around the edges of the room.

In the center of the room, there was a snow-white capsule, it was active as strips of light flashed at times around the edges.

The man stepped inside, pressed a button, and took a few steps to the side. After a minute, the top lid opened, emitting streams of steam from beneath it, headed for the ceiling.

A silhouette with long black hair and dark eyes as cold as ice slowly emerged from the capsule. It was a girl with a confident look, wearing a long white mantle.

"Something urgent happened? I was going to go to Dungeon, I hope the reason was worth the trouble?" The girl said seriously, staring intently at the man.

"Sure." The man bowed slightly, "Mrs. Elein, I think you'll be glad to hear that we know where Zayne Fellen is."

"And...? If you know where he lives, it doesn't matter. I'm not an animal, I'm not going to break into his house just to fight him." Elein frowned.

The man shook his head, "He's currently in Hospital #17. Even though he's not technically looking for a fight, it looks like he's trying to protect someone. We've already found out that his sister is being treated there."

Elein nodded, "I see... He'll stop anyone who tries to get in. Well, in that case, he won't be able to refuse me. Good job."

"My pleasure."

Elein stepped forward confidently, but she headed not toward the exit but toward the wall on which her weapon, a long katana with a razor-sharp blade, hung.

Unlike Zayne, who before Fallen Fate could not fight, Elein had spent years training in order to compete and defend her family's honor. However, ironically, it was for competition that she used her skills the least, as her katana was often covered in human blood.

"The helicopter is already waiting for you." The man said calmly, looking at Elein's receding silhouette.

...

Zayne stared boredly at the moon, it had been almost half an hour since anyone had tried to enter the hospital. Moreover, it had become completely silent around him. It seemed that Redhead was the last enemy of the night.

"Well, that's even better, isn't it? It wouldn't be good at all if some lunatic came in here." Zayne yawned, out of boredom. However, sometimes that was exactly what was needed.

After a moment, something blocked the moonlight as Zayne looked up, and his eyes went wide. A helicopter was hovering high above, slowly descending.

"What the hell...? It's a government helicopter, but, there's definitely nowhere to land." The reporter muttered in a confusion.

Whoooooooooooooooosh.

Just as the helicopter descended to maximum altitude, a silhouette jumped out of it. Its long dark hair reflected the glint of the moon, radiating a real menace that Zayne felt on an instinctive level.
