Chapter 20 - Chen Xiaoyi's Treatment
Chapter 20: Chen Xiaoyi’s Treatment
Lu Li certainly didn’t expect anything to happen with Chen Xiaoyi right away. He knew that one has to eat one bite at a time, so he found an excuse to prepare some tools and left the room.
He took out his silver needles from the room, tools that had just gathered dust in a drawer in his previous life.
Despite knowing everything, he couldn’t do anything, a feeling Lu Li never wanted to experience again.
Returning to the room, Chen Xiaoyi was ready, her lower body hidden under the blanket, leaving only her smooth, jade-like feet exposed, restlessly moving about.
She even covered her head with a pillow.
What a scene of hiding one’s ears while stealing a bell!
Her adorable appearance genuinely made Lu Li laugh.
“Don’t be nervous; it won’t hurt.” Patting Chen Xiaoyi’s buttocks, Lu Li wore a mischievous smile on his face, skillfully sanitized the silver needles, and gently touched Chen Xiaoyi’s back.
Somewhat frail, though not to the extent of skin and bones, but close enough. This was the result of Chen Xiaoyi’s years of poor nutrition and excessive physical strain.
Yet her skin remained so tender and flawless, like the finest warm jade, strikingly pale.
The moment Lu Li’s hand touched Chen Xiaoyi’s back, she couldn’t help but stiffen her legs, her delicate toes clenching, biting her lip.
She felt like she was going crazy, coming to the home of a man she had only met a day ago. Although it was for treatment, she should have been more skeptical!
Chen Xiaoyi didn’t even know why she ended up here, maybe because Lu Li accurately described her illness back in the milk tea shop, she subconsciously wanted to trust him.
And knowing about her tragic past also made Chen Xiaoyi unconsciously develop a bit of dependency on him.
Or maybe it was his willingness to cover her debts and arrange a job for her that made Chen Xiaoyi unable to help but tell herself that this man was trustworthy.
But soon, a warm feeling spread across her back, like a cozy little heater shining on her, making her flushed face under the pillow even redder.
This comfortable sensation made her want to cry out.
Quietly lifting the blanket that hid her ears from the truth, looking towards Lu Li, Chen Xiaoyi was somewhat stunned for a moment. They say a man is handsome when he’s focused. Now she was starting to understand.
Watching the man seriously performing acupuncture on her, her eyes flickered with something different.
“Don’t look at me like that; be careful, you might fall for me.” Noticing Chen Xiaoyi’s gaze, Lu Li teased with a smirk.
“Pfft… conceited, who would fall for you!” Caught peeping, Chen Xiaoyi’s face flushed with embarrassment, loudly retorting.
“Chen Xiaoyi, what’s wrong with you, you just met him today, and you’re already having such thoughts.” Chen Xiaoyi internally cursed her own weakness.
But gradually, Chen Xiaoyi sensed something was amiss, a foul smell wafted through, making her frown.
This wasn’t the scent of Lu Li; she hadn’t smelled anything when they were in the car together. What was this smell?
Could it be that Lu Li farted?
So, even such a handsome guy farts.
She couldn’t help but smile a bit smugly, feeling like a little mouse who had stolen seeds, the distance between her and Lu Li seemed to disappear.
“Alright, go take a shower; you’re going to stink me to death.” After finishing, Lu Li couldn’t help but cover his nose, waving his hand dismissively at Chen Xiaoyi.
Although he knew his treatment would be like this, watching the black dirt emerge on Chen Xiaoyi’s body, along with that foul smell, still made Lu Li frown.
“What, you’re blaming me for farting, but it was actually you. I didn’t expect you to be such a face-saving man.” Chen Xiaoyi thought silently, touching her back which had been warm all this while. Now that the treatment was over, she wanted to touch it.
But what she wiped off her back was a clump of black muck.
“Ah—what did you put on me!” Chen Xiaoyi couldn’t accept it, finally understanding why she felt the smell earlier.
“Talking nonsense, these things have all been brewing inside you for years. You’ve been frowning and not taking care of your body every day; your body will accumulate all these negative elements, and this is it.” Lu Li smirked, watching Chen Xiaoyi’s flustered appearance with amusement.
(Nonsense, don’t take it seriously)
“…you’re saying, all these things came out of my body?” Chen Xiaoyi asked incredulously, half-believing, half-doubting Lu Li.
“What else?” Lu Li shrugged, waving his hand in front of his nose, “Hurry up and shower; do you really want to stink me to death?”
“Ah—” Chen Xiaoyi seemed to turn into a steam engine, her head almost smoking, her face blushing, she sprang up.
Rushing into the bathroom, the sound of water soon came from inside.
“Shame on me, I thought it was Lu Li farting, but it was actually me…” Chen Xiaoyi wanted to cover her face in shame.
Lu Li chuckled lightly, freed from the system’s manipulation, his life had become much more interesting!
Even having physical contact with the heroine.
Lu Li knew the plot well; before meeting the protagonist, the heroines hardly had any man touch even their fingertips.
He called the butler to buy some women’s clothes.
“Master, if it’s urgent, we can take Miss Lu Ya’s clothes for the lady to wear,” the butler suggested.
“Shut up, I don’t want to hear the name Lu Ya in this house ever again.” Lu Li’s face instantly turned cold, as if the previous smile was just an illusion.
“I’m sorry, master,” the butler instantly became fearful.
“Go clean up Lu Ya’s room, burn anything related to her, and if I catch any of you hoarding her stuff, consider the consequences.”
With that cold remark, Lu Li made it clear, Lu Ya wouldn’t appear in his life ever again.
“Yes!” The butler realized his mistake. With the young master’s dislike for Lu Ya, how could he bear to hear her mentioned?
Even the lord and lady hadn’t mentioned Lu Ya these days, as if the Lu family never had such a person.
Truly, out of sight, out of mind!
It’s Lu Ya’s fault, why did she harbor such ambition? As an adopted daughter, living a good life wasn’t a problem.
What a pity!
