Chapter 21: Armor Shopping
Chapter 21: Armor Shopping
Shye immediately slept last night after eating dinner with his little sister because he needed to get up early to buy armor.
Fortunately, he was able to wake up early this time. He groggily got out of bed and took a quick bath.
Then, before leaving, he checked on Maia and after seeing that she was still sleeping peacefully, Shye silently left the dormitory.
*YAWN*
"Ughh...I still want to sleep..." Shye muttered to himself while walking towards the academy's armor shop.
He really needed to buy a decent set of armor now because not only would it potentially save his life while doing daily quests, but he would also need armor to compete with the best students in their year level.
5 months from now, the first-year students' tournament which will decide the class budget until they graduate will happen.
After asking his classmates, he knew that he needed to perform well there because the fourth-year students would be watching.
Some of these fourth-year students are either scouts, vice presidents, or the presidents themselves of Adventurer Academy Societies.
A student won't be able to graduate from the academy without being a part of a society and of course, there are also Academy Society rankings for Colzen Adventurer Academy.
The higher-ranked societies will obviously have their eyes on the top 20 students of each year so he needed to perform well in the tournament to be recruited by the top societies.
Naturally, the higher-ranked societies will have better benefits than the average or bottom-feeders so joining a top-tier society is the goal of every student.
This included Shye so he plans to farm points and upgrade his attributes as much as possible for the next five months.
Of course, if he didn't even have a proper set of armor, he wouldn't stand a chance against the fully equipped and strong high rankers in his year level.
Finally, after half an hour of walking, he arrived at the academy's armor shop.
Shye slowly opened the door and upon seeing that there were only a few customers early in the morning, he was quite happy.
"Welcome to Colzen Adventurer Academy's Armor Shop!"
The shopkeeper said in a loud voice from behind the counter.
Shye gave a slight bow to the shopkeeper before entering and checking out the armor pieces.
"Ohh...So there are three different types of armor huh? Cloth armor which seems to be for mages, leather armor for scouts and archers, and heavy armor for warriors..."
He then walked towards the heavy armor section and looked at the prices of the most basic iron armor.
"Ughh...Looks like I will be broke again after this..." Shye dejectedly muttered to himself.
However, he needs to buy armor anyway so he can try and hunt the apex creatures inside the beginner adventurer zone.
Shye knew that he would be able to quickly earn his money back once he went back to hunting and having armor would make hunting creatures slightly safer and easier.
He checked the most expensive iron armor and saw that it was made by a famous blacksmith.
"Ohhh! So this one is made most likely by Doran's qualified apprentices huh? Not only does it look nice, it also looks durable!"
Shye was hooked. He started having fun looking at every armor piece.
"Kuuuhh...I really want to buy a Doran brand armor..."
Unfortunately, Shye knew that he wouldn't be able to purchase an entire set of Doran brand iron armor right now so he temporarily settled for the iron armor set with an unknown brand.
"Hello, shopkeeper! I would like to purchase the Meido brand iron armor set please..."
"Oh? You've got good eyes! The Meido brand is indeed unknown right now since the blacksmith, Meido Chan, is still a rookie but she's a promising one!"
"The entire Meido iron armor set costs 430 silver coins."
The shopkeeper said
Shye felt a little better after hearing the shopkeeper's assessment of the Meido brand so he immediately paid the 430 silver coins and excitedly wore the Meido iron armor set.
"Thank you for your purchase!"
He slightly bowed to the shopkeeper before leaving the armor shop in great spirits.
Fortunately, he still had 10 silver coins left this time so he would at least be able to purchase food for Maia while he hunts creatures to earn more money.
After purchasing his armor Shye was running a little late for class so he picked up the pace because their instructor for the day was the bald Instructor Per.
Although Instructor Per ends his class early most of the time, he really hates it when a student is late.
Fortunately, he made it to class on time and just a few minutes after he arrived, Instructor Per entered the classroom.
"Everyone sit down! Let's start the class so we can all go home early."
