Chapter 193: Haikal Emanuel vs Yehu
Yehu leaped to the side, his breath ragged. His sharp eyes scanned the surroundings, but the shadow of the Grim Reaper was always present, like a tireless hunter. It appeared from the side, then vanished behind him, only to strike again from above, then below. Cold sweat drenched his forehead as every movement demanded perfect focus, as if even the slightest misstep could be his last.
Far ahead, a spinning black blade hurtled toward him, spinning with a speed nearly impossible for the eye to follow. The air roared, sliced apart by the sharp spinning blade that struck without mercy.
Yehu didn't waste time thinking. With a single decisive motion, he swung his hand, hurling a glowing blue energy orb into the air. The orb of light shot forward sharply, cutting through the space between them as if dividing the world itself. The spinning black blade launched by Haikal whirred with deadly speed, tearing through the air as the two forces collided in the middle.
A massive explosion echoed, shaking the ground beneath them and destroying everything around.
But before the dust from the explosion could settle, a large shadow floated beside Yehu—the Grim Reaper. Its massive scythe raised high, its hollow eyes staring coldly, as if bringing forth a freezing void. Yehu twisted his body, realizing the threat, and ducked just as the scythe swung down, slicing through the air with a terrifying sound.
Siiiing...
A deadly slash passed just inches from his head. Yehu rolled to the side, his eyes blazing with suppressed rage. In one swift motion, his hand began to glow—a brilliant blue, full of power. With his bare hand, he struck toward the Grim Reaper's neck, a lethal blow charged with energy radiating from his fingertips, ready to tear through anything in its path.
Tang!
The massive scythe met his glowing blue arm, the sound of metal clashing reverberating through the air. Yehu sneered, not expecting his attack to be blocked. But he didn't stop. In a rapid motion, his body spun 360 degrees, slicing through the air and unleashing another strike toward the Grim Reaper. Each spin unleashed sharp blue energy, aiming to tear apart the enemy's defenses.
Yet the Grim Reaper's scythe moved with surprising agility. Block!—its weapon slashed, blocking attacks from the right, then from the left, as if reading Yehu's every move. Its horrifying body moved with eerie grace, spinning, disappearing from sight only to reappear elsewhere in an instant, like an unreachable shadow.
Yehu's eyes flared, his teeth gritted. "Damn it…" he cursed inwardly, frustration creeping into him. All his attacks seemed meaningless.
Far off, Haikal stood still, unmoving, as if lost in his own thoughts. His face remained calm, with no intention of advancing, merely observing the fight with an empty gaze, making Yehu's blood boil even more.
---
Haikal watched Yehu struggle against his Grim Reaper, his face calm, though his eyes began to narrow. He took a step forward, light yet full of certainty. "Enough playing around," he muttered quietly, though his voice echoed through the air like an undeniable command.
In front of Haikal, a black book opened to a page filled with chaotic lines colliding at the center. His old hand moved slowly, touching the surface of the page. "Hell Spear."
The moment those words were spoken, the world around Yehu changed drastically. Time seemed to slow. The earth and sky rumbled with uncontrollable power. Yehu felt his chest tremble violently. Panicking, his hands moved swiftly, tearing through the air to create a portal.
Crah!
A loud crack accompanied the shattering of the portal just as it formed, with the Grim Reaper's scythe destroying it instantly, giving him no chance. Attack after attack flowed, relentlessly pressing down on Yehu. "Damn it! Leave me alone!" he roared in desperation, fear beginning to claw at his heart.
But the greatest threat had yet to arrive. From below, the ground split, and a massive black spear—its length immeasurable—shot up, straight toward Yehu. His eyes widened, his body moved, but it was too slow. In seconds, the spear pierced his heart.
"Ugh!" A pained groan escaped his lips. His hand trembled as he reached for a vial from thin air, quickly gulping it down. Warmth flowed through his body, instantly healing his wound. With the last of his strength, Yehu slashed at the black spear lodged in his body.
Crack! The spear shattered, and Yehu broke free from the deadly strike. But he knew, his time was running out. "I have to escape," he thought quickly, with no other options. He pulled out a talisman from his spatial ring, his hand ready to break it—the only way to flee.
But before the talisman could activate, another spear suddenly fell from the sky, once again aiming directly for his heart.
"Ugh!" Yehu gritted his teeth, his body writhing in pain. Not long after, another spear came from the side, striking with the same deadly speed. Two black spears now impaled him deeply, blood slowly seeping out. Each spear drained his life force, weakening him further.
A cold laugh echoed. From a distance, Haikal began approaching, his steps slow yet sure. "A high race, huh?" His mocking laughter grew louder as he saw Yehu's body, hanging like a roasted pig in the air, trapped between two spears. Yehu's furious eyes could only glare at him with unspeakable hatred.
"You're like a dog on a leash," Haikal said, his voice calm yet cutting sharply. "Daring to bark only when next to your master."
Another swift, merciless strike. A black spear pierced Yehu's thigh with terrifying precision, forcing his body to sag even more. Haikal stepped closer, his eyes full of wisdom as if lecturing a child. "Your barking may sound loud in front of the weak, but where is it when you face someone above you?"
Shortly after those words left his mouth, another black spear appeared, this time piercing Yehu's neck. Blood oozed from his throat, his breaths grew shallow, as the pain began to erase his consciousness.
