Chapter 84 Questions Part 1
Surrounding Xavier and creating some distance between him and themselves, already knowing and seeing for themselves what he was capable of, the ten or so fighters left were on guard and prepared.
Stopping in place, Xavier continually turned around to observe his surroundings and keep an eye on all of his opponents, and was impressed by how quickly they were able to sync their movements.
But that was to be expected from skilled fighters that had all realised that taking him down in a one-on-one fight would be impossible.
All starting to close in on Xavier, he struggled to find an opening or a weak link in the group of fighters that surrounded him.
As soon as he made a move, they would all pounce on him and he would be attacked from all directions, but the longer he waited, the less space he had to move and the easier it would be for his opponents to overwhelm him with their numbers.
It had become a waiting game, but the longer the game went on for, the bigger the disadvantage Xavier would be at.
And knowing that, he faked running in one direction, alerting the fighters in that part of the enclosure they had formed around him before turning in the opposite direction.
However, he feinted once again, and continued to fake moving in different directions, causing them to back off slightly, and become less synchronised.
But it didn't take them long to regain composure and start to close in on him again, thinking that he would just continue bluffing and that he had no way out.
Sadly, they were mistaken.
-
Not only had they underestimated how reckless and wild Xavier's fighting style was, but they also hadn't realised just how fast and explosive he could be.
And unlike what they were expecting, he suddenly burst towards one of the fighters at full speed and closed the gap between them in a matter of seconds.
The others were able to react and prepare themselves, but it was to no avail, even with the two fighters on either side of Xavier's target seeking to help defend against him.
With three attacks coming his way, one from in front and one from either side, it seemed as though even though Xavier's rapid movement had caught them off guard, they would still be able to take him down.
But from Xavier's perspective, despite their attacks being fast and powerful, they were almost moving in slow motion and his mind that was racing had already thought of multiple ways to deal with them.
Although at his current level there wasn't a way to do so unscathed, it was still impressive as he continued forth and sustained two blows while taking one of them down.
And immediately after, he swiftly avoided the other two fighters' follow-up attacks and took them down, seemingly with ease.
-
The other fighters watching couldn't even understand what had happened and after a few strikes, three people were on the floor and Xavier was still standing there as he turned to face them.
Albeit, in the process, he had sustained a kick to the ribs and a punch to the jaw.
It was inevitable to get hit when exchanging blows with three skilled fighters at once, but the two strikes he had sustained didn't seem to faze him much and had allowed him to land knock-out blows on the three of them.
And it wasn't long before the rest of the fighters suffered a similar fate to the five fighters that Xavier had already taken down.
However, in all his exchanges, Xavier made sure to hold back his power, not wanting to damage or harm any of them severely, and it wasn't like he had taken them down without suffering any hits.
He was panting heavily after taking them all on, and his body was sore all over after the blows he had sustained.
-
Sitting down on the ground as he caught his breath, Xavier was no longer as dizzy after all the few blows he had taken to the head and was pretty sure he would be fine after a good night's sleep.
He was also positive that it would be the same for the rest of the fighters, since he had held back, and it wasn't long before a few of the fighters started to get up.
Expecting as much, since they all had sturdy physiques and he hadn't dealt them fatal blows, Xavier called them over and they awkwardly began to approach and sat around him.
Apologising for attacking them so suddenly, they didn't seem to mind and instead were amazed by the masked figure sitting before them and began asking him about their weaknesses.
For him to have been able to take them all down without suffering any major injuries, his ability to find holes in his opponent's defence and have the speed and courage to exploit them was just incredible.
And it wasn't long before all of them had regained consciousness and gathered around Xavier as they bombarded him with all sorts of questions.
They couldn't help but be intrigued as to how someone becomes so skilled and capable, and what kind of training he did.
But hearing all his answers that seemed pretty mundane, it was hard to believe that he was actually telling the truth, and before they knew it, the sun was starting to come up.
-
The night flew by without them realising.
They had been chattering all night and trying to implement and understand all the tips Xavier gave them, and despite wanting to talk for longer, they needed to get some sleep.
Throughout the night, Xavier found their company quite enjoyable and got comfortable around them, to the point that he had even taken off his mask.
He also learnt a lot about them and himself after speaking to them for hours before getting up to leave and putting his hood back on.
"I'll send you all the location of the dojo that I mentioned and we'll probably have to open a second one to train in as well, so prepare yourselves. But just to reiterate, once you join, it won't be all fun and games. And soon the Outlaw Gang will make its first move," he said to all of them as they all prepared to depart.
They all nodded their heads and Xavier saw a fire in their eyes that he liked, and it was that desire to do well for themselves and those they cared about that would push them to excel.
And with that, they all went their separate ways.
