Chapter 427: Identity Revealed
Shisan would glance at Noah from time to time, curious about his identity. It wasn’t just her; the two young men sitting opposite them were the same.
"Do people in the other sects of the empire also eat like this?" Shisan finally broke the silence, looking at the huge table with a frown.
"Not really." Wuhan was surprised by her question at first, but then he replied with a smile. "But we are not like any other sect, are we? I treat this sect and the people in it like family."
"This is why I want us to eat like this occasionally. Besides that, there are separate eating arrangements in your own rooms." Hearing Wuhan’s heartfelt words, even Shisan was moved a little, let alone Yuan Ming and Tian Heng.
"You fell for that?" Their attention was caught by an amused sound coming from the side. They all turned their heads towards Noah, who was sitting beside Wuhan. Seeing the smirk on his face, they felt something else was going on as well.
Wuhan’s face paled as he coughed a little, trying to stop his friend with a signal. Noah smiled and nodded, which made Wuhan think he backed off. But little did he know, behind that warm smile of his friend was the cold smirk of a sadist.
"He was forced to sit here and eat his food in front of everyone by Xin Yan. He just made up everything he said to save face." Wuhan coughed a mouthful of blood at his friend’s betrayal. "I made this table just a few minutes ago for this occasion. After all, he gets to eat her ’special food!’"

’So you’re still salty about that?!’ Wuhan screamed in his heart as he heard Noah’s words, which made him tremble in anger.
"What else can you expect from a liar." Shisan coldly snorted at Wuhan before her eyes widened. ’Did he just say Xin Yan?’
Before she could say anything, the doors of the room opened once more. Dressed in a beautiful snow-white dress, Xin Yan walked inside the room with a satisfied smile on her face.
Behind her, Wu Ping entered as well, holding a tray full of various dishes in her hands. Besides her nervousness at facing so many cultivators at the same time, she looked at Xin Yan’s back with a bit of fear and admiration.
*Gulp!*
Wuhan gulped down his saliva, smelling the mouth-watering aroma of the food. He stared at the tray in Wu Ping’s hand in a daze. He was so lost looking at the food that he failed to notice the dark smile on Xin Yan’s face.
Wu Ping could only shake her head, knowing what was coming for the pitiful man. She did not know what the sect master had done to deserve such a fate, but she was not to question her madam’s decision.
She could still see the chilling smile on Xin Yan’s face while she was making the ’special dish.’
’How could someone be able to cook something so divine and something so hellish at the same time?’ She wondered as she silently walked towards the table. ’Maybe being able to do something like that is divine in itself.’
"Xin Yan…" Seeing the familiar appearance of the woman, Shisan muttered in disbelief. She finally recalled why she found her familiar all this time. Now that she had calmed down, she could tell who she was.
She stood up from her seat and looked at the woman, surprising the maid. Xin Yan looked at Shisan and smiled in acknowledgment of her words.
Yuan Ming and Tian Heng were tired of getting shocked in such a short time. ’Just what in the world happened while we were away on the mission?’
"You have changed a lot… how did this happen?" Shisan asked in disbelief. She confirmed her suspicions when she sensed the familiar yet different aura from the woman. Nôv(el)B\\jnn
"I did not change at all." Xin Yan replied with a chuckle, seeing the look of astonishment in her eyes.
"What do you mean?" the masked elder asked in confusion.
"I was in disguise when you saw me for the first time." Xin Yan lied through her teeth. Although she was confused at first about what to tell her, Noah gave her a good excuse through thought transmission.
"I used an artifact to alter my real appearance." Xin Yan waved her hand, and a white mask appeared on her face, turning her into her old self. When she took the mask off, her body returned to normal.
Even Wuhan was a little surprised, seeing the workings of the mask.
"I see…" Even though it was difficult to believe, Shisan found it reasonable to hear her explanation.
"Wu Ping, place the food on the table." Seeing the woman lost in her thoughts, Xin Yan turned to her maid and instructed her while walking towards Noah.
"Are we late?" As Wu Ping placed the food on the table, Ming Ye and Ruo’er walked inside the room.
"Just on time, have a seat." Wuhan welcomed them warmly while trying to keep a straight face. From the side, he could feel a gaze on him. The two of them took a seat at the table opposite Shisan before nodding at her with a smile.
Xin Yan stood beside Noah as she whispered something in his ear. Noah simply smiled and nodded in reply.
One by one, Wu Ping served food to everyone except Wuhan. The poor sect master had to watch his friends and disciples being served the aromatic food while he could only drool over it. ’But then again, eating nothing is better than eating something she tampered with.’
"Xin Yan… are you going to punish me with no food?" Wuhan placed his hands on the table, fingers interlocked before his face and looked at each plate on the table seriously. His drool kept dripping on the table, unknown to him, starting to form a puddle.
"My, my~ Do you think I am a demon who could do such a thing?" Xin Yan asked with a pained expression on her face. The rest chuckled, seeing the dark expression on Wuhan’s face as he saw Xin Yan taking out a special bowl from her storage ring just for him.
Looking at the closed lid on the top of the bowl, Wuhan gulped his saliva in fear. Placing the bowl before him, Xin Yan walked towards her own seat beside Noah and sat down.
What do you think?
