Chapter 420 The Zombie Wave ( 3 )
Shane noticed that this time, the Crypt Crawler Zombies seemed to be a lot thinner, though they still had the long limbs and elongated claws that boosted their speed.
Because of that, these zombies seemed smaller but faster!
'There's probably more than three hundred of them…' Shane thought.
Unlike the slower, shambling horde of Miner Zombies, these creatures were far more agile. The rugged terrain was nothing to them as they were able to scale obstacles with ease using those limbs.
"We're having such a problem this early?" Shane couldn't help but shake his head after realizing that they were being sabotaged by two Survivors just less than an hour during the Zombie Wave.
Swiftly, he summoned his two Silver Swords in his inventory and used his Telekinesis to control them…
He wanted to warn the two for a bit, and if they didn't change their direction, he would eliminate them. Although he was confident that they could win against the horde of Crypt Crawler Zombies, he didn't like the idea of them being used by some strangers. Furthermore, they had time to prepare against the Zombie Wave, and there was no way they couldn't survive the first horde.
After all, they had already survived two Zombie Waves and one Boss Raid Event.
However, before he could act, something unexpected happened.
As soon as Lysandra saw the two, she immediately called Shane.
"Wait, Shane, don't kill them!" She shouted out loud.
Shane was obviously shocked as he looked at Lysandra for an explanation.
"I mentioned them before. They wanted to join our clan, but since we haven't met yet, it's not possible to invite them. They've been traveling for a while to meet us."
Shane finally understood… These two were most likely Minerva and Tieria. Lysandra was basically their benefactor after she sold them some customized prosthetics from the Ivory Gear Shelter.
Minerva was the one who had a missing limb, left arm to be exact, and Lysandra's prosthetics helped her a lot.
On the other hand, Tieria's missing right eye was replaced by Lysandra's Hunter Prosthesis Eye, which gives Night Vision and Zombie Detection.
Now that Shane observed the two, he noticed that they indeed had the prosthesis that Lysandra had sold.
"Alright… Change of plans… We need to save them…" Shane muttered.
The two survivors ran with everything they had, darting through the terrain. One of them, a tall man with an injury on his shoulder, was lagging behind. The other, a young woman, kept glancing over her shoulder, urging him to move faster.
They had already seen Shane's camp, and they just needed to run in a few more seconds. Unfortunately, they have already used a lot of their resources. As a matter of fact, they have already killed hundreds of zombies in the process.
Furthermore, they also had subordinates with them previously, and they ran in different directions in order to thin out their numbers. However, it wasn't just enough.
"They're not going to make it in time," Shane muttered, already calculating the odds.
Shane glanced at the elves, who were already readying their bows. Their eyes were focused, tracking the movements of the Crypt Crawlers as they closed in on the fleeing survivors.
"We will be helping them. If you're clear, just shoot at the Zombies to slow them down."
As Shane said this, he also took out several quivers of arrows with him.
With his high Spirit Points, he was able to compensate for his low-grade Telekinesis… Soon, several arrows rained down on the Zombies…
The survivors were now just a few hundred yards away and the Elves also felt confident to shoot without harming the two Survivors.
Shane could see the terror in their eyes, the way they pushed their bodies to the limit in a desperate bid to survive.
'Well… You're fine now…' Shane muttered to himself.
Thud! Thud! Thud!
Soon, dozens of Crypt Crawler Zombies were eliminated in a single volley of their arrows. The dozens of bodies that suddenly collapsed created a blockade impeding the ones behind them…
Crash!
It soon created chaos as the Crypt Crawlers bumped into each other.Nôv(el)B\\jnn
Without another word, Shane sprinted forward. His Exosuit was still active and it gave him the speed and power needed to close the distance quickly.
It was better to carry the two in order to let his Automated Turrets and the ones in the Watchtowers help them with the bombardment. Discover hidden stories at empire
The Tactical Sentinel Combat Exosuit was something that the two had never seen before.
"Ahhh…" Tieria was shocked to see such a humanoid machine charging at them.
"It must be some kind of Talent… It's here to save us." Minerva added.
"Right… I guess the one who can make those amazing prosthetics should be capable of making that as well." Tieria immediately calmed down as used his remaining strength to run forward.
They have actually killed two Spitter Monster Zombies already, but it was a pity that they passed through a defeated Wild Shelter. Because of that, the remaining Zombies there moved to them!
They were a bunch of Crypt Crawler Zombies… At that time, there were still three Crypt Crawler Leaders, and they were able to eliminate those three with the help of their subordinates. However, they were already injured and didn't have enough Spirit Points to kill the remaining horde.
Furthermore, there were also cooldowns in their skills, so they really needed a respite.
Soon, the Crypt Crawlers also noticed Shane in his Exosuit rushing toward them.
Some of them veered off, attempting to intercept him, while others continued to pursue the two survivors.
This time, however, Shane activated his suit's Energy Gauntlet. The familiar hum of energy could be heard as he charged it up.
"Clear the path!" Shane shouted at the two…
Minerva and Tieria didn't hesitate after hearing the instruction…
With a single, devastating punch, he struck the ground!
The closes Crypt Crawler Zombie also took the remaining force from that strike, and its body was crumpled under the force of the blow!
This move also blasted the nearby Zombies.
That was enough… Immediately, Shane reached the wounded man first, grabbing him by the arm. "Hold on!" he yelled…
The man gasped, barely able to keep his feet beneath him, but Shane dragged him forward, his exosuit's strength was more than enough to carry the extra weight. The woman, seeing Shane's intervention, pushed herself even harder… Thankfully, the Spirit Recovery Pill, which gives her 5 Spirit Points per minute, had finally accumulated, and she was able to use one of her Movement Skills..
Now that Shane and the other two gained more distance, it was time for their allies to bombard the Crypt Crawlers.
The elves, together with Ibrahim and the others, let loose a volley of arrows from the watchtowers… Furthermore, the Automated Turrets, although not fully cooled yet, have been activated!
Thud! Thud! Thud!
The Crypt Crawlers were tough, but in the end, their territory should be in the caves and not in the wilds. One by one, they collapsed as arrows pierced their skulls.
But there were still too many of them, so Shane wasn't worried that he wouldn't be able to capture the Crypt Crawlers that he needed…
Anyway, with one final burst of speed, they made it past the outer defenses.
"Close the gates!" Diana ordered.
Bam!
The heavy wooden gates slammed shut, reinforced by metal bars, just as a couple of Crypt Crawlers slammed against it.
Then, the battle against the Zombies continued.
"Kaelen, remember that we need to capture 12 Crypt Crawlers. The Turret will not be activated for long, so once it stops shooting, find your targets." Shane reminded as he dropped Tieria off.
"Got it… Twelve Crypt Crawlers…" Kaelen replied as he signaled to all the other elves.

Meanwhile, as everyone was busy dealing with the remaining Crypt Crawlers, Shane helped the injured man to his feet…
They don't have a medic right now, but Shane had a Healing Token with him…
"Use this… You just need 2 Spirit Points to activate it." Shane said as he handed over one of his Crimsonheard Healing Tokens. He also did the same to the woman, although she only had some scratches and bruises that could have easily healed.
Of course, their eyes lit up after seeing the description of the healing token. They didn't even know that such a thing could exist.
"Thank you!" The two of them said in unison.
Without hesitation, they activated the healing token, and just like its description, it recovered 30% of their vitality in an instant! Although it could only be used 20 times, this was still an incredible item!
They couldn't help but wonder how Shane was able to obtain such a precious item.
If possible, they wanted to buy more of these. However, they knew that it wasn't appropriate for that just yet, so they simply showed their gratitude and allowed their bodies to recover.
"I'm sorry for bringing this horde to your shelter. We'll definitely assist you once we recover… We're both quite strong… We'll show you later." Tieria said with confidence…
Minerva also nodded eagerly.
Shane smiled as he could believe the two…
Then, Lysandra, their guarantor, finally arrived in a hurry…
What do you think?
