Chapter 2401 The Solution
Chapter 2401 The Solution
Fang Heng lowered his head in thought upon hearing this.
So that was it.
He finally understood.
Ultimately, it was the demon bloodline that was causing the trouble.
It was likely due to absorbing a large amount of chaotic power, which elevated his demon bloodline to a commander-level, leading to a conflict with the sacred study level that couldn't keep up.
There had already been a significant gap between the two, and with the dimensional energy enhancing his attributes by three to four times, this gap had been amplified exponentially in a short time, resulting in chaos within the sea of consciousness.
"There are roughly three ways to resolve this."
Teacher Gu Luo paused to look at Fang Heng and then continued, "The first is to release or forget the conflicting academic disciplines or bloodlines within you. However, I suspect you wouldn't be willing to do that."
"The second is to find relevant fusion skills to learn or to enhance your existing fusion skills."
"As for the third, you can strengthen the weaker of your conflicting skills, bringing the powers within you back to a balanced state. Alternatively, you could choose to elevate the level of other attribute-less skills; this could also mitigate the backlash."
"Those are the three conventional solutions I can think of at the moment."
Fang Heng couldn't help but scratch his head as he listened.
The first option was a definite no.
Could he really give up the academic skills he had worked so hard to obtain?
That was obviously not an option.
As for the second option, the academic integration skill was a hidden reward obtained from a special mission in the game. When he first learned it, it was still at the elementary stage, and he hadn't encountered any opportunities to upgrade it since then.
It might be worth asking around to see if there were other ways to level it up.
The third option was to enhance other skills.
Fang Heng suspected that the conflict likely stemmed from the demon bloodline and the sacred study clashing against each other.
So...
The fastest way to resolve the issue was to find a way to quickly enhance his sacred study.
But given his relationship with the Holy Court?
That would be even more difficult...
Instead, it made more sense to choose a more feasible path: finding a way to continue enhancing other non-conflicting attribute-less academic disciplines to serve as a buffer.
Fang Heng quickly clarified his thoughts.
The good news was that he had identified the cause of the issue in his sea of consciousness.
It wasn't an incurable problem; with some time and gradual adjustments, it could be resolved.
At present, it was merely that his mental strength couldn't operate at full capacity, which didn't significantly reduce his combat strength.
Well then.
Fang Heng let out a quiet sigh in his heart.
Thinking back, he had been running around the World of Forests tirelessly for quite some time without a proper break.
After things settled down, he decided it would be a good idea to take some time to rest, to allow his body to fully adapt to the attribute enhancements while also gradually leveling up his other academic skills.
There were less than two days left until the Soul tribe's loyalty deadline.
With that in mind, Fang Heng resolved not to stir up any trouble outside and to focus on completing the hidden main storyline rewards. He would also thoroughly review all the information he had obtained from the Soul tribe, hoping to find more clues related to the White Abyss.
"Thank you for clarifying my doubts, Teacher."
After addressing Fang Heng's confusion, Teacher Gu Luo sat back down at his desk, pondering for a moment, "Fang Heng, the undead faction is planning a relatively large operation soon. With your current abilities, you've reached the eligibility threshold. Although you've only been with our undead faction for a short time, your achievements are recognized by everyone."
Fang Heng raised an eyebrow at this.
A major operation?
"Is it aimed at the Holy Court?"
"It's not that. We need to keep it confidential until you're involved. All I can say is that it will help you understand necromancy better. I'm not your teacher, so I can't make any recommendations. If you're willing to participate, you'll need to go find your teacher, Dickey."
Teacher Gu Luo nodded and added, "I recommend you participate if you have the time."
"Is it very time-consuming?"
"Yeah, you'll need to act quickly to report to Dickey, and then at least a month will be required for preparation."
"Sorry, Teacher, but I have other matters to attend to at the moment."
"Don't be too quick to refuse. If you decide to think it over, you can always find Dickey later."
"Understood."
After bidding farewell to his teacher, Fang Heng immediately logged off to rest.
At the moment, he wasn't particularly interested in the necromancy cultivation mission proposed by Teacher Gu Luo.
While necromancy was indeed useful, its utility was limited.
Fang Heng felt that even if he participated, he wouldn't be able to directly upgrade his necromancy by a tier.
Moreover, taking on the mission meant he would have to approach Teacher Dickey personally, which meant risking leaving the Library of the Myriad Worlds.
This could potentially bring trouble to the Necromancer Association.
He had other pressing matters to deal with anyway.
Once back in the guest room of the Library of the Myriad Worlds, Fang Heng threw himself onto the bed, and a wave of exhaustion washed over him.
But it wasn't quite time to sleep yet.
He reached for his phone on the nightstand and checked it, only to let out a soft gasp.
During his offline period, several unknown calls had come in.
It was Old Black.
Fang Heng was almost certain that the caller was Old Black.
Old Black always used strange unknown numbers to call.
Before he could think more about it, the phone rang again.
"Hey, Fang Heng! Long time no see! I heard you've been asking around about the White Abyss?"
Fang Heng's heart skipped a beat as he replied, "So you have news?"
"Of course! Do you remember that message you left on the website last time? Take a wild guess at who posted it?"
Before Fang Heng could respond, Old Black continued, "You're in luck! That guy from your hometown is one of the founders of the site, and he wants to meet you to discuss things in person. What do you say?"
Fang Heng felt a wave of reluctance. "You know my situation isn't exactly suitable for going out."
"No worries! If you're willing, just say the word, and I'll handle everything else."
Fang Heng's instincts kicked in, and he asked cautiously, "You know where I am?"
"Of course! Hahaha! You can rest easy. I won't leak your whereabouts. So, are you willing to meet?"
"Fine."
"Okay, okay! I'll keep you updated."
After hanging up, Fang Heng stared at the white ceiling, murmuring to himself, "The White Abyss..."
A wave of fatigue washed over him, and he quickly fell into a deep sleep. n/o/vel/b//in dot c//om
...
The Soul tribe's habitat was shrouded in an air of tension as the Great Elder, Jeno, sat high above, contemplating the report given by Tippy.
"Tippy," he had begun, "Can you confirm that Shaluba has indeed been completely sealed by Fang Heng?"
"After entering the Inner World, we could no longer perceive the aura of the Root tribe's Great Elder," Tippy replied. "Furthermore, we had coordinated with the vampires to thoroughly search the entire habitat of the Root tribe, but we found no trace of Shaluba."
Tippy paused for a moment, then continued, "Given Shaluba's abilities, if he were still alive, he certainly would not allow us to eliminate the Root tribe's encampment without putting up a fight."
"Indeed... your reasoning is sound."
