Chapter 474: 473, Illusionary Duel Grand Champion_1

Chapter 474: 473, Illusionary Duel Grand Champion_1

At 7 o’clock and 10 o’clock, the two Chinese armies made a brief stop and marching in the east direction. This was towards the rear of the three foreign battalions that were stationed at 2 o’clock, 1 o’clock, and 12 o’clock.

The players in the three foreign armies had heard Su Yu’s coded command earlier, but they had no idea what it meant. They were not aware that the two armies acting at their rear have switched sides.

Meanwhile, in the camp, Su Yu’s second [Winter Mage] was recruited.

The outcome was naturally predictable.

Under the combined pressure of Su Yu’s army, the two Chinese armies, and the two [Winter Mages], the three foreign armies quickly fell into ruin. They were shattered and broken up in the encirclement.

As for the remaining armies stationed at 8 o’clock and 9 o’clock, observing the unfavorable situation, they disregarded everything else and hastily led their armies towards the edge of the grand platform, walking off and down from the edge.

This large platform, blanketed with ice and snow, was finally occupied by three Chinese players.

The bounty for defeating the three battalions all went to Su Yu who amassed 6000 gold coins. He allowed MorningStar to recruit 20 [Tundra Wolf Riders], significantly increasing the overall strength of his troop.

The two Chinese players turned to look at Su Yu after destroying the enemy armies.

Seeing that this highly skilled player was Boss Ke, they were pleasantly surprised.

One of them called out to Su Yu from afar, “Hello, Boss Ke! I am [Windling Crossing], a member of the Mu Yun Guild. I didn’t expect to run into you just after entering the instance!”

“Hello!” Su Yu replied to him with a smile.

The other player also shouted, “Boss Ke, I’m a solo player named Richard. You were terrific earlier, defeating two armies of the same size with only a few casualties; I almost couldn’t believe my eyes!”

While talking, the two players rode their mounts towards Su Yu.

“It’s just a few tricks really. The enemy was just incompetent,” Su Yu modestly replied, “But we can’t get overly confident. The game has just begun, and we need to work even harder!”

Windling Crossing and Richard both nodded in agreement.

Windling Crossing continued, “Since your command capabilities are so advanced Boss Ke, how about I leave my army for you to command?”

Richard also chimed in, “I’ve been thinking the same thing. I’ve never commanded an army before and I wouldn’t know how to. Maybe it’s best if you do it, Boss Ke!”

After considering for a moment, Su Yu responded, “Alright, I’ll do it. I have acceptable commanding skills. Make sure to observe and learn, and while I strengthen my troops, I’ll do my best to strengthen yours too.”

“Thank you, Boss Ke!” Both of them happily replied.

Next, each of them had their armies take over the gold mines.

Su Yu occupied three of the five gold mines, leaving one each to Richard and Windling Crossing – a resource allocation proportional to their contributions in destroying the three foreign armies.

After distributing the gold mines, each of them rode their mounts to the edge of the platform.

Naturally, Su Yu was riding on Dima. Since it advanced to the fifth tier, he hadn’t used this female horse again. Now, in this instance where powers were suppressed to a third tier, it came into service again.

Upon reaching the edge of the platform and looking down, Su Yu, Richard, and Windling Crossing finally understood the nature of the location they were in.

Their large platform was the peak of a mountain; which mountain exactly, needs to be clarified from the illusion map.

This illusion map, accommodating 4110 players and their respective armies, was extremely vast; its borders were not visible at a glance.

In the center of the map, five mountains of equal height stood erect.

The mountains were arranged to form a regular pentagon and looked very grand.

Of these five mountains, Su Yu was on the snow-covered peak at the northernmost side; the peak of the eastern mountain was covered with red molten lava; the western mountain was shrouded with green flora; the two southernmost mountains were shrouded in strong sacred light and shadow respectively.

More than 4000 troops of players were positioned in the five mountains, with a majority positioned on the mountain hills and slopes, and a small portion festooned just like Su Yu on the peaks.

In the center of the five mountains was a large lake of significant size.

That was the specific condition of the illusion map.

….

Looking at the situation below the peaks, Richard could not help but swallow his saliva.

He stayed silent for a moment then turned to Su Yu, “Boss Ke, what should we do now?”

Without even contemplating, Su Yu replied, “What do we do? Well of course, using the peak as our base, we descend the mountain to eradicate the players of the other nations! We follow the agreement, we unite with Chinese players and purge the foreign players. We aim to occupy the most gold mines to expand our army size. It will be a fairly easy operation.”

“Alright, we’ll do as you suggest,” Richard answered.

Over the following period, Su Yu did exactly as he had said. Using the snowy peak as his stronghold, he launched attacks on the players positioned down the slopes and along the mountain waist.

A high-ground army launching a downhill attack on a low-ground army had a tremendous advantage.

Additionally, with Su Yu’s commanding ability, the [Tundra Wolf Riders] with high mobility, the vast amounts of gold mines, and various other advantages, Su Yu marched unbeatably, purging foreign players within the snowy mountain range.

Merely within 30 minutes, Su Yu led his team in routing hundreds of foreign troops, enlisting about 50 to 60 Chinese players.

According to the panel display, the number of players on the entire map was quickly dropping from the initial “4110/4110” to “1150/4110”.

By the time the count plummeted to “975/4110”, there were no more reductions to be made, as these 975 players were all Chinese, and all foreign players had been cleared from the map under the united front.

After winning, the 975 Chinese player armies rejoiced at the edge of the lake.

According to Su Yu’s observations, more than 200 of the 975 players belonged to the army system led by Snow Leopard.

The army system was inherently adept at commanding battles and adapted easily to this sort of command-centric combat, so there are more of them left;

The next largest lot belongs to the elites of various big guilds, also numbering over 200.

The elites genuinely lived up to their name, managing to survive till the end even in a command-based game like this.

The rest were essentially members of smaller guilds or solo players.

After 975 players rejoiced at the lakeside, they dispersed to various locations on the map, beginning to compete for the ultimate championship.

However, the final competition was not fair—the quality and quantity of the troops varied greatly among different players.

Take Su Yu for example, he even recruited two of the ultimate troop types [Frost Dragons] from the Icy Camp at a cost of 20,000 gold coins. With his available funds and commanding abilities, most players simply couldn’t hold a candle against him.

And that was indeed the case.

Time continued to pass, and an hour into the illusion, a decisive battle unfolded between Su Yu’s main forces and Snow Leopard’s army forces.

The two sides had similar forces, yet in the end, Su Yu, using his exceptional command skills, defeated Snow Leopard’s forces, emerging as the final victor of the illusionary battle!
