Chapter 464 – Complicated Objective [2]

— lolol

— Embarrassing! Breeze is embarrassing!

— Eh? You are embarrassed for acting but you don't get embarrassed when you got roasted by the chat?

— The confidence lol, I could never.

"I want to be buried. Please bury me."n/o/vel/b//in dot c//om

"Sure." A distorted voice replied.

Max looked up and found a white creature standing before him. It looked human, but its limbs were abnormally long.

It wore ragged clothes, and its hair covered half of its face.

Max immediately stood up as he glared at the creature.

"Evil spirit!"

The chat exploded.

— Holy shit!

— Finally, the evil spirit appears!

Find adventures at empire

— This one looks different! And why does he look down on the hole like that as if it want to bury Breeze

— Damn! I jumped off my chair when it appeared.

Max watched the evil spirit silently. It was standing on top, looking down on him. He held his tong and was ready to activate its ability.

"Come... Come..." The evil spirit muttered before retreating.

Sighing, Max lowered his tong and looked up.

"It told me to come, right? Let's get the hell out of this hole and follow it. If it takes me to the objective, then that's great."

— Follow it?

— Evil spirit is suspicious. Don't follow it!

— Are you sure about that?

— For your information, there are also zombie villagers outside. Will you be fine with your... weak tong?

"Weak tong? What do you mean by weak tong?! Tong is power!" He shouted angrily.

They wouldn't understand the greatness of tong.

Anyway, he climbed up the hole and found the fog thickening. Blue fire floated in the air, pointing him which direction he had to go.

Max walked toward that direction.

The evil spirit was waiting there, standing in the middle of the fog. It looked at Max and extended its arm.

"Follow..." It muttered.

Max narrowed as he followed the evil spirit. This objective wasn't as easy as dealing with the evil spirit, it seems. There was a mystery involved in this village.

He couldn't solve it yet, but he would find out soon enough.

As he walked ahead with the evil spirit guiding him, Max found the chat had calmed down. They were curious about the story and waited for it to unfold.

"Follow..." The evil spirit kept muttering as Max followed it.

Soon, they arrived at a barn.

"Wait here..." It said and entered the building.

Max watched the entrance of the barn while wondering what it wanted to do.

Should he kill the evil spirit? Or wait?

Before he decided, the chat reacted.

— Something is coming out!

— WATCH OUT WATCH OUT WATCH OUT!

Max turned around as he wielded the tong. Then, he found Samuel and zombie villagers running toward him. They stood far away from the barn while glaring at him.

"Zuzuzu!"

Max frowned as he pointed his Tarot Card toward them. He was ready to fire an Energy Ball at them and escape at a moment's notice.

However, the zombie villagers suddenly knelt down and bowed their heads. They looked like people who were kneeling to their king's arrival.

"Zuzuzu!"

From inside, the evil spirit exited with a living villager beside it. The villager looked pale and black liquid flowed from his eyes. He was crying blood.

His body was bruised, blue patches could be seen everywhere in his body.

"P-Please... Help me. I am the village chief. H-Help me!" He begged Max who stared at him in confusion.

— Village chief?

— Another NPC?

— So sus. Samuel was lying?

Max frowned as he looked at the zombie villagers and Samuel. The evil spirit dragged the chief toward Max and released him.

Then, it stared at Samuel and the zombie villagers.

"Return..." It said.

The zombie villagers and Samuel stood up immediately as they walked backward.

Soon, they disappeared in the fog.

Max watched everything happen with a frown. What was his objective? Investigate the tunnel?

But it had now evolved into an evil spirit taking a hostage instead.

"What is happening? What is this evil spirit doing?" He asked himself as he looked at the chat.

But they were confused as well.

— This is confusing.

— Samuel lied? Did he ordered zombie villagers to kill his father?

— Nah, he can't command them. Evil spirit controlled them.

— Then what does the evil spirit want to do? Why did it hold the chief?

Max didn't know as well. He looked at the evil spirit and the chief. It stood in front of him with its elongated limb holding the chief.

Max also stood still as he wielded his tong threateningly.

The evil spirit looked at Max and opened its mouth.

"Your quest... Won't end like that... Find me... Bury me... Release him... and...

village."

It muttered creepily, and Max frowned when he listened to it.

"Release who?" He asked.

The evil spirit smiled before lifting the chief up and biting his neck.

"AAAAAAAHHH!!!" The chief screamed.

Max's eyes widened as he dashed forward, trying to save the chief. However, his tong missed as the evil spirit jumped into the fog and ran away.

He chased after it but he couldn't see anything in the thick fog. And when he reached the outskirts of the village, zombies appeared to block him.

[New objective!]

[Objective: Find the Evil Spirit's body and give it a proper burial.]

Max clicked his tongue as he swung his tong. Energy ball exploded, killing the zombies that blocked him.

"Find the body? Is it the one from before?" He wondered as he ran deeper into the fog.

— Zombie villagers are blocking him!

— Samuel is missing too!

— This is starting to get complicated.

Max nodded in agreement.

Indeed, this mission became more complicated. However, all clues had been given to him by the evil spirit. The problem was how he connected the dots together.

Soon, he arrived at the mine.

Max descended the hole quickly and arrived at the cave. He looked for the corpse for a proper burial, but...

"It's gone."

This game was rigged!

"How the heck should I solve this problem?"

It was at that moment he felt a vibration. The earth shook,

He was in danger! He had talked about this with his viewers before, the possibility of the tunnel and the mine was created from an earthquake.

The wall could fall and boulders could bury him alive. He definitely didn't want to die again and restart the game from that carriage again!

"SHIT!"
