"A gold mine? I see," Song Yixu nodded as if it was quite normal however a second later her eyes widened as she looked at Yu Dong and shrieked, " A GOLD MINE?"

How come Yu Dong got her hands on the gold mine? Why did she not get her hands on something this good?

Yu Dong flinched under the harsh pitch of Song Yixu's voice, she blinked her eyes and then rubbed her ears before saying, "There is no need to look so shocked.

I haven't agreed with the offer yet," if she was being honest, she wanted to agree with the offer that Murong Si had made to her but the amount of troubles that might come to her doorstep after she agreed, Yu Dong was not willing to face them.

When Song Yixu heard Yu Dong's response, she wanted to ask whether she had gone crazy to turn down such an offer but then she thought about how Yu Dong would be entangled in a mess after she became the owner of the gold mine and closed her mouth.

Though the offer was indeed great when Song Yixu thought about it, a commoner taking control of the gold mine —— it might bring unprecedented dangers to Yu Dong's house. She pursed her lips and suggested after two seconds, "How about I take it under my name?"

Yu Dong raised her head and looked at Song Yixu who smiled at her and explained, "I might be just a merchant but I am well respected by the officials and my mother and grandmother used to work for the Late Empress and Emperor. We have sent a lot of tributes to the Imperial family including a glowing pearl."

"Because of that, my mother's importance in the eyes of the officials including the court members grew. Even now the imperial court is highly respectable towards my family," Song Yixu understood that with the position Yu Dong was in at the moment, she could not become an official. There was a possibility of buying a title but only a title up to rank fifth could be purchased.

Such a low-rank position wouldn't be able to save Yu Dong and her family because if it could then Yu Dong would have purchased the title long ago.

"I can help you by taking the mine under my name at the same time we can sign another agreement between the two of us," Song Yixu said to Yu Dong. "I will give you sixty per cent of the shares earned by the mine, what do you say?"

Yu Dong's eyes lit up when she heard that, she asked with a smile, "Madam Song, it sounds like you have a better channel for selling the gold?"

Apart from taking the mind legally under her name Yu Dong was also worried about how to operate it but if Song Yixu was willing to help her then Yu Dong knew that most of her worries would be resolved.

"I do," Song Yixu replied. "I have worked with all sorts of merchants before taking over the restaurant. For example, coal, grains and of course gold. My mother wanted me to be skilled enough to take over the restaurant, thus she asked me to learn as much as I could."

"It was during this time that I came in contact with Madam Duan. She is a really good jewellery designer and the shop that she owns at the Imperial Capital is rather big as well, I heard that her shop is now famous with the mer concubines of the imperial harem. If I try to make a channel with her, Madam Duan will certainly agree."

Yu Dong did not understand much about jewellery, it was either pretty or expensive in her eyes. However, from what Song Yixu told her, it seemed this woman surnamed Duan would know what to do with the gold ores that Murong Si handed her this afternoon.

Yu Dong pursed her lips and then pushed the pouch that she had gotten from Murong Si towards Song Yixu. She said to her, "First send these samples to Madam Duan, if she is willing to buy these gold ores then I will start with the purchase of the mine."

Since the two of them were going to join hands, it was only right for Yu Dong to take out a certain sum of money as well.

"Haha, you trust me so much?" Song Yixu was surprised when she saw that Yu Dong was willing to hand over the ores without even asking her for a sum of money in exchange.

Yu Dong arched a brow and then said to Song Yixu, "Is this even a question that you need to ask?" She hadn't forgotten that it was because of Song Yixu's honest business that she was able to earn her first salary in this world. Back then the two of them were not even acquainted and yet Song Yixu had remained nothing but truthful towards her principles so how could she not trust her?

When Song Yixu the solemn expression on Yu Dong's face she was both amused and touched. She pocketed the pouch of gold ores, she seriously comforted Yu Dong, "Then I will have to make sure that I live up to your trust?"

While Song Yixu had Yu Dong's trust, she certainly did not have the trust of the Ying family.

Old Master Ying threw down the rug that he was holding in his hands and turned to look at Old Madam Ying, "Are you really going to continue sleeping like that?"

They have been looking for Ying Nan for a long time and yet they did not even find a strand of his hair. Even the villagers stopped looking for him now, they now believed that Ying Nan was eaten up by a wild animal.
