'The Holy Golden Dragon? Holy?' An ominous feeling began rising in his stomach.

Hmm...

Even the system did not seem to know what was going on, but the octopus continued:

"You don't recognize me, successor?"

"Not at all. I was only told to come here," Michael steadily replied.

"Huh? He just sent you down here without any prior knowledge?" The octopus tilted its strange-looking head in a creepy manner.

"Yes..." he said before suddenly halting, remembering a certain system message that had popped up the moment he entered this strange ocean world.

"Actually, I was told to find the source of the disruption. Would you happen to know something about that?"

"Disruption? I see," it replied in understanding before suddenly disappearing from his sight.

However, in the very next moment, a giant eyeball appeared before him—the same one from the massive being he had seen before.

It covered his entire field of view, but nonetheless, this time, there was no malice.

"Follow after me, young successor." Its emotionless voice rang out, splitting the surrounding water into two.

A path had been formed, and it seemed to be heading even further down.

Michael took one glance at the eyeball and proceeded to go down. Thankfully, the pressure had disappeared.

Otherwise, he would have probably been crushed by now.

The surroundings he could see from the split-open path were strange structures in the distance.

Their shapes and sizes varied, but it almost looked like houses—or something similar at the very least.

But he had no time to admire that as he continued going down until eventually, he reached a crossing.

Immediately, a little blue light lit up, signaling him to turn right.

Michael followed along; however, the little split-apart tunnel was growing narrower by the second.

At the same time, it displayed something he couldn't believe.

The narrower it got, the more he could see below and beside him—it was as if his vision was growing clearer.

Multiple lights and buildings—even some kind of weird-looking objects—were strewn across the ground.

Most importantly, he saw movement—a lot of it.

Only then was he able to realize that wherever he was heading was actually some sort of underwater city.n/ô/vel/b//jn dot c//om

The being from before wasn't following him either, just leaving him to his own thoughts—or so it seemed.

But he did not have much of a choice, only to follow the ever-narrowing path to the very end.

However, as those thoughts finished, he found himself seemingly being sucked to the side.

And before he could even protest, Michael was absorbed into the water by the side.

He was expecting it to hurt—or just any kind of pain, for that matter. But what was before him made him widen his eyes in surprise.

"Move it, jackass!" a man's voice rang out as he pushed Michael aside.

But the strength of the man was abnormal; with a single push, he was able to shatter Michael's hand.

'...' He watched as it healed nearly instantly and took a good look around.

A city with floating cars driving around, people walking—some in suits, while others dressed casually.

It looked like any ordinary city, except for the fact that instead of a sun, there was a blinking eyeball in the sky—one that moved every few moments or so.

However, now that he had been dropped into here, he was a bit unsure of how to proceed.

Looking around, he spotted a few buildings. He was looking for a library specifically.

With his current rate of learning, skimming through a book would get him most of the knowledge he needed. So if he did that to all the books, he would naturally know what to do.

Sounds like something someone who doesn't know what to do would say. How will a library solve your problems? the system commented.

'Well? Do you have a better idea? You know it won't take me more than 20 minutes to read the books of an entire library. I might find something relating to the investigation.'

Check the map. See if anything stands out, genius.

Michael raised his brow before opening it up, and immediately, he noticed something.

That something was actually nothing—there was absolutely nothing out of the ordinary.

It just seemed like any ordinary city filled to the brim with green dots and close to no red dots.

But as he started paying more attention, a feeling of unease arose.

'There's only three red dots in a city this massive?' he couldn't help but wonder.

Zero yellow dots, thousands upon thousands of green dots, and yet, only three red dots.

Exactly. I bet that's where your little problem lies.

'Hopefully.' He took a few glances around. Most of the people—even civilians—were at the very least Tier 4. He felt like a complete weakling.

And the fact that there were even stronger people among them—such as guards or even policemen—didn't help.

'I definitely don't want to bump into them...' Michael thought as a shiver went down his spine.

But now that he realized the people were a lot stronger than he initially thought, it raised a question.

'How am I supposed to kill whatever those red dots are? Even the weakest here is stronger than me.'

Not everything must be solved through fighting, Michael.

'Are you suggesting I try to convince them to fuck off? Really?'

Yes. With the number of people present, there are a lot of possibilities. But do keep in mind—they might not even be the ones behind the disruption.

Michael thought for a moment before turning into an alleyway and flying upwards onto a building, getting a bird's-eye view of the entire city.

'Perhaps... but how do I even go about it? I wasn't exactly a political genius back then.'

Start with a bang, the system stated, sounding eerily ominous.

'A bang, huh? Doesn't really help me, but I'll see what I can do.' Michael chuckled before landing his eyes on a man far away—one of the three red dots.

His strength alone was much higher than the rest of the people he saw. This really was going to be a hard trial.

But no matter how hard it was, it shouldn't be impossible.

'Probably...'
