Hikari: Rise Of The Weapons Master

Chapter 52 Eyes Of The Guardian

"Are those…" The king of Eizenburgh kingdom slowly stood up from his throne as he looked at the two weapons glowing in front of Zack and Emma.

The duo had no idea why the two weapons had suddenly appeared in front of them and were glowing brightly.

Zack and Emma tried to get the sword and bow back inside their inventories but it didn't work. Instead, the sword flew towards the king who had been watching the two swords with a wide gaze.

"Where did you those two weapons.?" He asked with a slightly open jaw as the white-haired boy decided to tell the truth.

"We found them in the guild." He replied as the king's hands went near his throat. He rummaged around with the pendant on his throat before he managed to get it off.

Two gems were hanging down from the pendant and both the gems seemed to resonate with the two stones.

"No wonder both of you gave me that aura…" The king muttered as he started walking towards the two weapons that were floating in the air.

The two gems suddenly broke free from the pendant and flew forward. A blue-colored gem started to float beside Eirias while a silver-colored gem floated beside Khryselakatos.

[ Eyes of the Guardian of the Eizenburgh Kingdom (mythic): The eyes of the guardian who makes sure that peace is maintained in the Eizenburgh kingdom.

- To the two heirs of the heroes of the great war, these gems will give access to a special quest. ]

"What the f…" Emma and Zack were both seeing the same thing and their eyes were wide open when they saw that the two gems were actually eyes.

But before they could say anything about the eyes, Jonathan spoke up.

"Go on and grab them." He said while pointing towards the gems.

But the duo shook their heads. They had no interest in taking the gems and getting access to some weird quest where their lives would be in danger.

If someone asked them, they already had enough weapons with them to be considered the strongest players ever. And alongside that, taking quests by holding the eyes of an unknown guardian was probably not a good idea.

"Don't look at those gems like that. These are the reason that the eastern continent is not ruled by the dark faction." The king said with narrowed eyes as Zack suddenly remembered the past of the Eizenburgh kingdom.

It had been ruled by the dark faction in the past and crimes were as frequent as someone eating food.

That was when a group of ten heroes had freed the entire continent. They had come from various parts of the continent.

Their fates had been intertwined with each other and all of those heroes had battled the force that was ruling the continent.

And to everyone's shock, they had won and had managed to push everyone back. But despite the many years' Zack had played the game for, the heroes had never been mentioned.

It was as though history had swallowed them up.

"Are you talking about the legend of the ten heroes?" Zack slowly asked as the king of the Eizenburgh kingdom nodded.

"These two gems had been passed in the Eizenburgh family since the time of the 'Night's Wrath' war. It had been one of the greatest things that had ever taken place in the history of the Eizenburgh kingdom. But sadly, it was never revealed who the ten heroes were.

Though the king who had received these two gems had been told that one day, history would repeat itself. I am still not sure what that means but regardless, the gems had been said to fly to be connected with a bow and a sword." The king then glanced at the two weapons.

It was clear as day that the two weapons were the bow and sword that Jonathan had mentioned.

"Let's take them." Zack suddenly said as he stepped forward towards the blue gem and grabbed it.

[ A new quest has been generated. ]

[ The quest cannot be declined. ]

'Well, that's a good start.' He thought with a sigh before the details of the quest appeared in front of him again.

[ Tale of Day and Night (Divine): ???

- Quest will be unlocked when a specific condition is met ]

The white-haired boy's eyes popped out when he saw the ranking of the quest.

The divine grade was the final grade in Hikari and there were only three divine grade weapons and their divine grade quests throughout the game.

The last person who had the vibranium token was from the Northern continent which belonged to the neutral side.

He had gotten a divine grade weapon too after some time but he had never explained how he had gotten it.

But now looking at the quest in front of him, Zack could imagine that the guild leader would have received something similar but it would have instead belonged to the past of his continent.

This meant that Zack and Emma getting the two weapons and the token had not happened purely by chance. It had been planned by the game developers to reveal the past of the continents.

The teenager wondered what that guild leader had to do in order to unlock the quest and get the divine-grade weapon.

Too bad that the person had never shared his thoughts.

"Guess I'll accept it too." The pink-haired woman said with a sigh as she walked forward and grabbed the red gem.

After a few seconds, she turned towards Zack with wide eyes.

"Divine? I didn't think that there would be a grade above legendary…" She asked with a confused and surprised expression which was totally valid.

Hikari already had too many grading ranks which were further narrowed down a little. That was when the divine rank was officially introduced to the players even though there were rumors flying about it much earlier.

"Tale of day and night…"

It was now Zack's turn to be surprised when he heard that Emma had gotten the same quest as him.

"Does it say something like 'Quest details will unlock after a specific condition is revealed' or anything like that?"

"Yeah, exactly what you said." The pink-haired woman narrowed her eyes as she realized that Zack had more or less gotten something similar to her.

They then turned to look at the king who gave them a shrug which seemed to say "I already told you everything I know. Now get out and let me live in peace".

Zack and Emma knew that it was pointless to ask the king anything else because he had already told them most of the stuff he knew.

The duo then walked out of the throne room with their weapons and a gem in their hands. The king stared at them walking away as he wondered what the king who had received the gems thoughts of the duo.

'I wonder what the future will hold for all of us.' He thought with a sigh and decided to call it a day.

Emma and Zack on the other hand went back to their guild and exchanged a glance. Both of them could tell that the other was clueless too.

"Do you know about that 'Night's Wrath' war he spoke about?" The pink-haired woman instead asked as Zack nodded.

"I think there is a library in nearby. Want to go there and check about this in detail?" The white-haired boy asked as she nodded.

The duo then started finding the library in hope of knowing more about the quest they had just been handed with.
