Hikari: Rise Of The Weapons Master

Chapter 98 Back At The Temple

Standing outside the golden temple, Zack was reminded of the time he had first come to the temple in his current life.

At that time, his only goal was to get at the top of the rankings and cure his sister. After that goal was completed, he had met Kai.

'Now I am entangled in the middle of a huge mess.' Zack then walked inside the temple while moving directly towards the center where the statue of the goddess and the high priest resided.

There were a total of four temples of the goddess of light in Hikari, out of which three were situated on the eastern, northern, and southern continents.

As for the west, no one knew about that region.

The black-haired boy soon found the head priest Joshua roaming around the statue of the goddess.

The highest position obtainable by a player was Archbishop. Above the archbishop was only a single person called the guider.

Though these positions gave many boosts to a person, Zack was not interested in having them. After all, such things came with a restriction.

"Hello, priest Joshua," Zack said with a bow as he reached the head priest and bowed down to him.

Though Joshua was known as the head priest, he was actually a bishop in the rankings. The guardian of the temple of light in the continent was one of the three archbishops.

'I wonder who will get the fourth archbishop position.'

Priest Joshua noticed Zack bowing down to him as a smile bloomed on the old man's face.

"You are that person who went to the Klonstad town, aren't you?" Joshua asked while extending his hand forward. "What was your name young man?"

"My name is Zack, Joshua. And yes, I am the same person who came here a few months ago."

After shaking the priest's hands, Zack turned towards the statue of the goddess of light and bowed down to it. Joshua was about to comment something before he noticed an odd aura around Zack.

'Is that…' The priest immediately recognized the aura. After all, he had sensed the same aura once in the past and had never forgotten it.

"Zack, did you by any chance, get a sacred artifact like a sword or something?" Joshua asked calmly as Zack nodded.

"Let me show you." The black-haired boy then summoned Eirias in front of him as the sword suddenly started glowing.

[ A new property of Eirias has been unlocked. ]

[ Eirias (Pseudo Legendary): The crystal sword of Light. It is named Eirias which means 'Blazing.' Also called sword of the sunrise.

- In the presence of the Dark, it burns with blue fire.

- ??? ]

'Pseudo-legendary weapons truly are on a whole another weapon…' Zack muttered while looking at Eirias's new property as the blade of the sword seemed to glow golden.

"Zack, here, take this." Priest Joshua waved his hand over the boy as another notification appeared in front of him.

[ The job class: Hero has been gained. ]

[ Hero (Job class): Since ancient times, heroes were the people who fought against evil and won most of the time. Being a true hero is not a job everyone can handle.

- Gives a 20% attack boost while fighting creatures from the dark and neutral side.

- Emits an aura that marks the person as a follower of the goddess of the light.]

[ A new skill: Hero's courage has been unlocked ]

[ Heroes Courage: Gives a 25% percent stats boost when fighting enemies stronger than you. ]

"Remember, with power comes great responsibilities." Joshua's eyes were fixated on the sword as he still couldn't believe that it was the same artifact that had helped the kingdom long ago.

If not for the golden glowing blade, the priest would have declared it as a replica but Joshua knew the special ability of the artifact so he didn't dare to say it.

"Thank you for the job class, Joshua." Zack bowed down with a sincere look on his face even though he was smiling internally.

After all, he had come to the temple with hopes of obtaining the hero job class. And now that he had received it, he could easily go to the Henson family house without facing any problems.

"Before you go back to your place, remember that there is no such thing as unlimited power. Despite how many artifacts, weapons, skills, etc. you will gain, you will still find that you don't have infinite power."

Priest Joshua then looked at the statue of the goddess of light as the tale of the ten heroes resounded in his head.

Many people didn't know that Joshua was actually nine centuries old. Even Zack didn't know that the priest was that old.

After all, 'Night's wrath' war had happened almost a thousand years ago and that's when the Eizenburgh kingdom and the three other kingdoms surrounding it had been formed.

"Now, there is only one thing that you need to do. Go ahead and use those powers for the actions you think are right. Neither I nor any god can tell you what is right and wrong. Every single person views the difference between right and wrong differently."

"As you say, Priest Joshua." Zack understood the meaning behind Joshua's and wondered whether the game developers had a philosopher working with them.

Joshua then waved his hands over the boy's body as light surrounded the latter's body. Moments later, Zack had vanished from his place.

Joshua was still fazed by what he had seen so he decided to consult a certain individual inside the temple.

The certain individual who was even older than him. After all, he was someone who had seen the first owner of the sword in action.
