I Am Doing Daily Tasks in the Wizarding World

Chapter 141

Chapter 141

“It looks a bit scary.”

The grotesque, enormous beehive loomed over the plains, drawing the attention of numerous demons. They flocked towards the wizard tower, continuously entering through the various holes in the beehive.

However, while demons were seen entering, none ever emerged.

This wizard tower, resembling a blood-flesh nest, seemed to act as a bottomless pit of flesh and blood, devouring every demon that ventured inside.

Around the plains, many demons appeared irresistibly drawn to the beehive, relentlessly making their way into its depths.

“What is going on?”

“How could Korsky’s wizard tower look like this?”

“I’ve heard about such things before,” another voice chimed in. “It seems this might be a biological wizard tower, constructed from the corpses or even living bodies of creatures.”

“That’s absolutely terrifying.”

“I remember seeing something like this in an old compendium,” someone else recalled. “Some past wizards also used biological wizard towers, but—”

Their words trailed off, but the meaning was clear to everyone around.

The appearance of this wizard tower was undeniably grotesque.

Although wizards were generally known for their unconventional tastes, this structure seemed to defy common aesthetic sense and diverged significantly from the mainstream design of wizard towers.

“I actually find it rather elegant,” Jado said, breaking the uneasy silence. “I believe that by sacrificing certain elements, one can gain others. Korsky’s wizard tower must have formidable combat capabilities.”

As time passed, the blood-soaked nest continued to swell, its surface bulging with thick, visible veins.

A crack formed on the surface of the nest, and a stream of crimson blood surged out from the fissure.

The ground beneath trembled, as rocks and dust were blasted into the air, creating a large cloud of debris.

Lynn’s sharp eyes caught the occasional flicker of rune light in some inconspicuous corners of the blood-flesh nest! This subtle detail confirmed that the blood-flesh nest was indeed a wizard tower and not merely a grotesque creation of flesh.

The blood-flesh nest, originally shaped like a beehive, continued to rise, its form expanding upward. Simultaneously, it emitted a terrifying aura.

Not only did the surrounding demons react to this ominous presence, but Lynn also felt a strange, subtle yearning deep within him. It was as though something within the blood-flesh nest was calling to him, a magnetic pull he couldn’t quite ignore.

On the distant plains, a tide of demons gathered, a massive swarm pressing in from afar.

“No wonder we didn’t see many demons on our way here,” Xiao Yu murmured. “They must have all been drawn to this demon nest.”

“But I wonder what price Korsky paid to amass such a large-scale slaughter of demons.”

“Normally, we need to fill out material requests just to capture a few demons for experimentation. Korsky can’t possibly be an illegitimate child of a senior member of the demon wizard academy, can he?” one of the apprentices joked.

Shh, be careful with your words. I’ve heard that Korsky’s family has no connections with the demon wizard academy. However, there are rumors that he might be linked to Mechanist City.”

On the plains ahead, the colossal blood-flesh nest continued to rise, resembling a resurrected giant of flesh from a rotting carcass. The dark red tower surface was dotted with hollow, circular openings that, from a distance, resembled countless eyes.

Extending from the hive, thick, fleshy tendrils reached out, sweeping across the area. With each sweep, a multitude of demons was effortlessly crushed and torn apart. Their shattered limbs and spilt blood spread out across the ground, seeping into the earth.

Lynn observed that the blood on the ground seeped downward at an unnatural rate, hinting at the possibility of even more terrifying entities lurking beneath the surface.

This wizard tower. Lynn narrowed his eyes.

The power of the tower before him had already exceeded his understanding.

Unlike the wizard towers Lynn had studied, this blood-flesh wizard tower resembled a biological weapon.

In the depths of the Abyss Crossing Great Rift Valley, more powerful demons were drawn to the site, including some of the third and even fourth levels.

Despite the overwhelming tide of demons, the blood-flesh tower continued to slaughter them with a ruthless and formidable strength. Vast quantities of flesh and blood were absorbed into the earth, nourishing the tower.

At the very top of the blood-flesh tower, amidst tendrils that resembled the filaments of a flower, Korsky stood with his eyes closed and head bowed, as if trapped in a deep slumber.

Lynn had an unsettling feeling that they were partaking in some sort of special ritual.

In this ritual, Korsky and his wizard tower were undergoing a profound transformation, shrouded in mystery.

Lynn was amazed.

This trip was really not in vain; the cold, lifeless data on paper could never compare to the vivid reality of the experiment unfolding before him.

It turned out that a wizard tower could undergo such a transformation.

This was likely the direction he had read about—the biological wizard tower. He wondered what the scene would be like if Lady Maybetessa’s Elven Mother Tree wizard tower unleashed its full power?

The Elven Mother Tree was said to be one of the greatest treasures of the elf clan. The elves were born from the Elven Mother Tree itself.n/o/vel/b//in dot c//om

As the crowd observed, Korsky, who was sleeping at the top of the blood-flesh nest, reached the most critical moment of the ritual. Every piece of flesh on his body trembled; beneath his wide wizard robe, his skin undulated like the tide.

Korsky’s face twitched uncontrollably, and suddenly—bam!—a burst of blood erupted from him.

Then came the second, third, and fourth bursts. Korsky’s body seemed to collapse like a malfunctioning machine, disintegrating into a mass of bloody flesh left behind.

“Machinery never errs,” a somewhat blurred image surfaced in Korsky’s mind.

“Your mother contracted the divine calamity. If we had discovered it earlier, there might have been hope, but it’s too late now.”

“Dad, don’t kill Mom,” the young boy pleaded desperately, clinging to his father’s leg. When he was little and wanted something, he would charm his parents this way, and they would always grant his wishes.

“This is the data computed by the mechanical brain, using the most refined algorithms to determine the best outcome. If your mother’s level is completely transformed into a divine calamity, it would cause significant damage to Mechanist City. I can promise you other things, but not this one. And your mother agreed to this decision.”

“No, I don’t believe it. It must be a mistake. Mom will be fine.”

“Feelings may err, but numbers never lie.” His father’s voice was cold as his mechanical hand gently stroked the boy’s soft golden hair.

“You’re lying to me! Mom would never agree! I hate cold, mechanical numbers!”

But amidst the countless chunks of rotten flesh, ghostly blue lights suddenly began to shine, resembling both hope and torches.

These light points were composed of countless tiny particles, as small as dust, with a single extremely tiny metal grain at their center that was even imperceptible to the naked eye. They began to float.

“Blood-flesh are weak, machinery ascends—”

A series of cold, mechanical voices began to chant softly. These voices emerged from the metallic particles, intertwining as they did. The blue glow began to faintly outline the silhouette of a seated figure. It was none other than Korsky, who had been perched at the top of the wizard tower just moments before.

The metallic particles were replicating at an indescribable speed. Over time, a vague human form began to take shape in the space where the flesh had once been.

Below, the surface of the blood-flesh wizard tower began to shimmer with metallic luster. This mighty force was distorting and altering the very essence of the blood-flesh wizard tower.

Yet, this distortion seemed to provoke the blood-flesh wizard tower. A tremendous force retaliated against the invading mechanical power.

‘Blood-flesh are weak, machinery ascends; blood-flesh are weak, machinery ascends; blood-flesh are weak, machinery ascends—blood-flesh, blood-flesh.’

The chanting, once rhythmic and mechanical, suddenly faltered. The cold, robotic voices grew hoarse and deep.

The metallic gleam on the surface of the blood-flesh wizard tower twisted grotesquely, at times decaying, at other times appearing pristine. Even from their vantage point, Lynn and the others could see that two opposing forces were battling for dominance.

Lynn began to discern some patterns. It seemed that Korsky possessed a formidable mechanical power, and the other was the power of the blood-flesh side.

The power of the mechanical side was easy to guess. His father was the boss of Mechanist City, so it was not too much to give him some trump cards.

However, the blood-flesh power was particularly intriguing to Lynn. To be able to stand against the trump cards provided by a powerful wizard from the Mechanist City suggested a level of strength that was incredibly high.

This level of power likely wasn’t inherent to Korsky himself but was being drawn from some external source.

Lynn’s gaze returned to the blood-flesh wizard tower below.

Rumor had it that biological wizard towers were modeled after some powerful creature, modified to serve as formidable fortresses. The blood-flesh wizard tower that had evolved from the indistinguishable, blood-flesh nest beneath him might well be the creation of a being with an extraordinarily high level of blood-flesh mastery.

On the plain, the never-ending tide of demons, though not numerous, had become the fuel for the blood-flesh wizard tower. Each demon that fell to the tower was like the proverbial last straw that broke the camel’s back.

The metallic shards that adorned the tower decayed at a visibly rapid rate, turning to ash in their final moments. The once-clear image of countless metallic particles at the tower’s peak became blurred, as if disrupted by some invisible force, and then they all vanished, as though they had exhausted their energy.

In the meantime, the mass of rotting flesh below was rapidly reconstituting. Bright red tendrils of flesh extended and intertwined, forming a formless, faceless entity composed entirely of sinewy muscle. The grotesque visage of this creation suddenly sprouted a layer of pale skin, spreading outward from the center of its forehead.

Even the apprentices who had witnessed the grotesque transformation couldn’t help but shudder at the sight of the face now forming. Though they knew the face belonged to Korsky, the thought of what might lie hidden beneath was deeply unsettling. His essence had long since transcended that of a human or any known creature; he had become a mere aggregation of flesh and blood.

The reborn Korsky raised his head and gazed skyward, his arms slowly stretching outwards.

Below him, the earth trembled incessantly. Massive fissures spread outward like a spider’s web, as if something terrifying was about to emerge from the depths of the ground.

Lynn and the others, watching from a safe distance, retreated hastily. The demons, once drawn to the wizard tower by an irresistible allure, now regained their senses. The tantalizing scent had vanished, and they halted in their tracks, gazing with trepidation at the colossal figure slowly rising from the earth.

It was like a towering small hill, with bright red flames burning on the dark red, mottled flesh. Eight thick legs, as robust as crab legs, emerged from the ground, each covered in blood-red palms. From a distance, they looked like the hairs on the legs.

At the center of the giant creature’s back was a structure that resembled a blood-flesh tower but had a more pronounced, spiky appearance. At its apex stood Korsky.

The red flames on the giant creature’s back suddenly extinguished, only to flare back up moments later. The muscles of the giant creature’s back twisted and contorted, leaving behind blackened holes.

From these holes emanated a creepy, echoing chant, “Machinery decay, soul is weak, blood-flesh eternal!”

“Blood-Flesh eternal!!!”

“Blood-Flesh eternal!!!”
