I Became the Henchman of a Novel’s Villain

Chapter 36 - I See the Shadow of Your Youth!

Chapter 36: I See the Shadow of Your Youth!

They got in the car. Ye Qiantong opened the front passenger seat door and sat down by herself. Without hesitation, she placed her two long legs on Bai Zhou’s lap, who was sitting in the driver’s seat.

Sigh—

Bai Zhou let out a long sigh.

It was an automatic transmission car. After shifting into drive, Bai Zhou naturally rested his hand on her legs. Only a fool wouldn’t take advantage of such an opportunity.  And Bai Zhou was no fool.

When someone offers you an advantage, just take it without hesitation.

Although there were many surveillance cameras along the road, Bai Zhou knew that all the surveillance footage of vehicles with LT plates would be deleted, except in the core areas of Li Tai’s influence.

As for how Li Tai would locate his car, besides the car’s GPS, he would rely on his underlings.

This might seem foolish. But in fact, it was a form of self-protection.

Today, one of his underlings had tracked Bai Zhou’s car and saw the two being taken away, immediately reporting it. When they arrived back at the Li family villa, Ye Qiantong had already moved to the back seat.

She opened the door, got out of the car, and leaned against the front passenger window, saying: “Come to my house early tomorrow morning.”

“Huh?” Bai Zhou’s pupils widened slightly.

To her house?! Damn, how long has it been? Is Ye Qiantong becoming more and more audacious? Daring to do this at home??

Ye Qiantong clearly knew what Bai Zhou was thinking.

With a trace of amusement in her eyes, she said: “Your boss has something to tell you.”

So, it was Li Tai who wanted to see him!

Bai Zhou let out a sigh of relief.

Without saying anything, he started the car and drove away. This woman was genuinely dangerous. Not because of her strength or intelligence posing a threat to Bai Zhou. But because of her actions. She kept playing with fire!

The whole day had left Bai Zhou feeling restless, leaving him wanting to find some way to resolve it.

He returned to his rented apartment, took a cold shower to calm himself down, and collapsed onto the bed. Today was indeed exhausting. Mainly because he had slapped someone across the face, knocking them unconscious in the process.

That kind of thing really took a lot of energy.

As for the person Bai Zhou had dealt with today, Bai Zhou tried hard not to think about him. After all, everyone had their first time.

Luckily, Bai Zhou had prepared well enough and couldn’t recall the man’s face, nor did he see the result after he fired the shot. So, even if he had nightmares, they wouldn’t be about this incident.

Bai Zhou fell into a deep sleep.

Meanwhile, on the streets of Magic City, a convoy was speeding toward the east.

Li Tai wasn’t sitting in his underling’s car but had chosen to ride in Zhou Yuntian’s vehicle.

Two bosses sat in the back seat, while Zhou Siyun, Zhou Yuntian’s daughter, was sitting in the front passenger seat. The driver was one of Zhou Yuntian’s most trusted subordinates.

Li Tai had his reasons for choosing Zhou Yuntian’s car.

With a trace of apology, he said: “I’m sorry for scaring you today, Xiaoyun. Uncle apologizes.”

“No! Not at all!” Zhou Siyun turned halfway around, dimples appearing in her charming smile as she waved her hand and said: “Uncle Li, you don’t need to apologize. Things like this are unavoidable.”

After saying that, Zhou Siyun, being quite sensible, turned back around. She knew that after Li Tai finished with the pleasantries, he would surely have something important to discuss with her father.

As expected, Li Tai stared ahead and, with a deep voice, said slowly: “Old Zhou, what do you think—”

Before Li Tai could finish, Zhou Yuntian interrupted: “Are you talking about Bai Zhou?”

“Hm?” Li Tai raised his eyebrows slightly: “You noticed as well?”

Zhou Yuntian smiled faintly, neither confirming nor denying.

But Li Tai still asked seriously: “What do you think of him?”

The car fell into silence. Zhou Yuntian didn’t speak, and neither did Li Tai. But sitting in the front passenger seat, Zhou Siyun had her ears perked up the whole time, eagerly waiting for her father’s evaluation.

She hadn’t told anyone about what happened between Ye Qiantong and Bai Zhou. Although she was the daughter of the richest man, Zhou Yuntian, and had an older brother who was destined to inherit the family fortune, this didn’t mean that Zhou Siyun didn’t have her own thoughts.

Once her curiosity about Bai Zhou was piqued, it was hard to stop. But after waiting the entire ride, even as Li Tai’s villa came into view, Zhou Yuntian and Li Tai still hadn’t said anything.

Just when Zhou Siyun was feeling disappointed, Zhou Yuntian finally spoke: “I don’t know about other things, but from today’s events, I saw …”At this point, Zhou Yuntian turned to look at Li Tai: “I saw the shadow of your younger self!”

“Zss—” Zhou Siyun lightly sucked in a breath upon hearing her father’s words.

She didn’t dare to move too much, afraid that the two sharp-minded bosses in the back might notice.

What did he mean by having the shadow of Li Tai’s youth?

Zhou Siyun didn’t know what Li Tai was like in his youth, but she knew all too well what he was like now! Even her father was willing to use her as a bargaining chip to ally with the Li family!

Didn’t that mean … Bai Zhou might be the future Li Tai?! Zhou Siyun was startled by her own thought.

If she could think that Bai Zhou might become the future Li Tai, then surely both Li Tai and Zhou Yuntian had thought of it too!

Wouldn’t that mean … Li Tai would definitely kill Bai Zhou?!

Because Bai Zhou didn’t bear the surname Li!!

Tsk, tsk …

However, Zhou Siyun also pouted slightly and thought to herself: “Even if he doesn’t kill him now, if Auntie Ye’s affair with Bai Zhou gets exposed, Bai Zhou will still die!”
