Chapter 159 Arlan’s Helpful Idea

Donnyl forced out an ugly smile. "So you are working for that bast*rd, huh?"

"Watch your words!" A soldier walked towards him and slapped his face hard.

Pa!

Donnyl raised his head and grinned at Fabian. "Do you feel joy seeing me like this?"

Fabian stared at the former police chief with a complicated look. He respected this man before, but after he started working for the president, his personality took an abrupt change.

"You were the most accomplished officer in our station. Everyone respected you and admired your dedication to our job. However, you changed after you met the president..." Fabian sighed while shaking his head.

Donnyl's face stiffened at his words. Memories about the past replayed in his mind. He started questioning the choices he made back then. 'Did I do the right thing? Am I wrong? He is the president... I can't go against him...'

Donnyl's face was full of sweat and dried-up blood. His expression was blank as if Fabian's words awakened him.

Looking at the scene, Arlan whispered to the soldier. "Keep an eye on them." He then went out without saying anything.

More than ten minutes later, a grim-faced Fabian came out from the basement.

"Are you alright?" Arlan asked while looking at him. Donnyl was responsible for Diego's escape which almost cost Fabian's life. Arlan thought that Fabian would display rage after seeing Donnyl, but he was wrong.

Fabian weakly turned his head towards him and replied. "I'm fine. Thank you for letting me speak with him."

Arlan shrugged his shoulders. "You should go to the station now. I'll go back to sleep." Arlan waved his hand and went upstairs without looking back.

Fabian chuckled as he watched his leave.

Arlan took a hot bath and change into a set of comfortable clothes. He then went to eat breakfast together with his subordinates.

After eating his meal, he grabbed his phone and claimed his daily reward.

[Congratulations! You claimed 100 million USD!]

Arlan was no longer excited about getting money from the rewards. According to Winter's deductions, money would quickly lose value if the zombie virus spreads to all countries. Food will be the most important resource and people would use it to barter for other items.

Whenever he claimed money from the daily rewards, he would simply use it for his projects. Other than the construction projects in Catanduanes, he also contracted the Rising Dragon Group to make two food processing factories for him.

As Arlan walked towards Winter's office, a brilliant idea suddenly appeared in his mind. Thinking about this, he pushed the door open and saw Winter inside the room. As usual, she was still sitting behind her desk with a laptop on the table.

"I thought about something really good. What if I loan money from the bank? I can use the Pegasus Hotel as collateral." Arlan spoke as soon as he sat in front of her.

Winter closed her laptop and looked at him. "I didn't think that you could actually come up with a helpful idea..."

Arlan merely smiled at her words.

"Our funds are running low because of the projects we have. If we can loan money from the bank, we can add more projects and speed up our development." Winter expressionlessly said.

"Then that's settled. I'll inform Krizia about this and I will let her handle this matter." Arlan didn't linger in her office for long. He looked for Krizia and found her chatting with the maids in the living room.

"Krizia, follow me to Winter's office. I have something important to tell you." Arlan was a bit excited.

Krizia stared at him in surprise. It was rare for their boss to show such an excited expression. "Alright, Mr. Roa."

"Excuse me, everyone." Krizia said to the maids before she followed Arlan upstairs.

When they entered Winter's office, Arlan immediately said. "So it's like this... I want you to loan money from the bank..."

Krizia was a bit surprised by his words. "How much do you want to loan, Mr. Roa?" She asked.

Arlan pondered for a moment before he casually said. "100 billion dollars."

Krizia almost fell off her chair when she heard this. "100 billion? That's impossible. The banks wouldn't agree to that." She said while shaking her head.

"I know, but what if we use Pegasus Hotel and Mazda as collateral? If that's not enough, we can also add the Rising Dragon Group to the list of collateral." Arlan's words sounded crazy and Krizia almost thought that he was playing with her.

"Wait... is this about the zombie virus that we talked about last time?" Krizia regained her composure. Arlan already told her about the zombie virus, but she still felt that it was unbelievable. If it wasn't real, they would lose everything, including the Pegasus Hotel which she had worked hard to become one of the best hotels in the world.

"That's right... These companies will soon be worth nothing anyway. It would be better if we can get more money from them before they become completely useless." Arlan nodded his head.

Krizia stared at Arlan and sighed in her heart. "Alright, Mr. Roa. I will try my best." She decided to bet her future on this person.

"Good! I'll send Khalon and twenty more bodyguards to protect you. They will keep you safe so you don't have anything to worry about." Arlan smiled as he stood up and patted her shoulder. Krizia was an accomplished manager and she was a better negotiator than him.

"Thank you for your care, Mr. Roa." Krizia smiled gently at him.

Arlan stared at the time on his watch and said. "You should prepare now. I'll go and inform Khalon about this."

"Yes, Mr. Roa!" Krizia nodded her head. She then stood up and bowed to him before she left the room.

This time, only Arlan and Winter were left.

"Do you want to go with her?" Arlan asked tentatively.

"No!" Winter flatly refused.

"As expected..." Arlan shrugged his shoulders before he left.
