Chapter 370: Chapter370-Power of God

He silently observed the approaching human woman, Scarlett, who didn't particularly disturb Him, except for the essence within her—another irksome spirit's presence.

As Scarlett moved closer, she increasingly felt the oppressive force of the black mist.

Strangely, although she harbored the essence of the Dawn Goddess within her, providing some resistance, she still felt suffocated when directly facing the dark mist.

Scarlett was immensely grateful she had come.

Had she not, John might well have perished here.

Reaching John's side, she sighed in relief upon seeing him still alive, albeit with a pallid complexion and burn marks on his body.

At least he was still breathing, still savable, and there was still a chance to remedy the situation.

She was determined to protect John, whatever the cost; his survival now was all that mattered, future consequences notwithstanding.

"Truly intriguing," she mused.

This world was indeed chosen by many gods, filled with their spokespeople.

Though merely another annoyance, it certainly added an element of interest.

As He spoke, Scarlett distinctly felt an overwhelming pressure, nearly causing her to spit blood, but she fiercely held it back.

Simultaneously, she felt the power of the Goddess within her intensifying—this was a sign that the Dawn Goddess was nearing awakening!

With the growing strength of the divine force inside her, Scarlett found a bit of relief.

No matter what, the awakening of the Goddess meant an increase in their capacity to resist.

Even if Scarlett was reluctant to resort to rescuing others, it would be necessary unless the Goddess demanded her death—or sought a new successor.

Essentially, Scarlett was gambling with her life, betting that the Dawn Goddess hadn't bestowed her power on another.

As the Dawn Goddess gradually awoke within Scarlett, initially expecting to reconnect with old allies, she quickly sensed something was amiss.

The nauseating power she felt was unmistakably that of an outer god.

The Dawn Goddess stirred within Scarlett, not yet having time to articulate anything before sensing the external forces growing stronger.

Furthermore, her current successor appeared to be on the brink of collapse.

"What are you doing?" The Dawn Goddess was furious.

She had high hopes for this girl, who possessed a rare luminous constitution—a key reason she had chosen her.

Yet, here she was, falling for a despicable man and now confronting the powers of outer gods.

Scarlett tried to speak but found herself unable to articulate words; she resorted to communicating through the psychic connection with the Dawn Goddess.

"Cut the chatter. If you don't want to see me die, help me!"

The tone of Scarlett's demand almost made the Dawn Goddess laugh in exasperation.

"What do you mean? Are you threatening me?"

Scarlett remained silent, devoid of any other options and utterly drained of power.

For the first time, the Dawn Goddess felt the sting of being threatened, a situation she realized was of her own making.

She took a deep breath, trying to control her emotions, but her thoughts quickly cleared as the energy around her intensified, demanding immediate attention.

The Dawn Goddess was acutely aware that there was no reasoning with outer gods.

Despite her fury, she forcibly contained it, knowing any waste of time here might lead to the death of this human.

Her energy was limited, and squandering it would play right into the hands of these outer gods.

As she contemplated this, she gritted her teeth in hatred but ultimately restrained herself, observing the woman before her.

This human woman carried an irritating essence, distinctly different from that of the man.

While the man's presence was merely annoying, the woman's essence was infuriating, something the Dawn Goddess felt should not exist in this world, or at least not before her.

The black miasma in the air grew denser.

The Dawn Goddess sensed that Scarlett's condition was worsening.

With a cold laugh, she took full control of the body.

A slight movement of her hand caused the moonstone staff to emit a dazzling light once more.

Humming...

In an instant, the light pierced through the black miasma, pushing it back towards its origin.

She watched the two humans through the barrier created by the staff, silently observing the unfolding events.

The Dawn Goddess's voice was filled with anger.

"This is not your place, get out!"

She was furious that this planet, which had just begun to enjoy some peace, was now disturbed by such a malevolent presence.

With a mocking tone, the shadow replied, "Long time no see. I didn't expect you all to become so pathetic, now relying on human bodies just to exist in this world."

Its voice carried a taunting sneer as the surrounding mists swirled.

The Dawn Goddess sensed something growing within the black mists, something she deeply despised, even more now than ever before.

With disgust, she eyed the black silhouette.

"Has it been too long since I beat you? Have you forgotten that this is not your place? Go back to your temple!"

After saying this, her staff emitted a dazzling white light that enveloped the entire church.

Yet, the dark figure remained unphased, responding with indifference, "But I am here now, and what can you really do about it? It seems you're the only one left who can still talk back. Where are the other bothersome gods?"

He seemed to carry a faint smile in his tone, and Scarlett, as the primary recipient of this confrontation, could hardly stand it anymore.

Her hands shook uncontrollably, barely able to hold onto her staff.

With just a slight gesture of His finger, the black mists before him roiled violently and surged directly towards Scarlett, as if they would drown her in the next instant.

Silver Tear grunted involuntarily, feeling overwhelmed by the power assaulting her.

Even with divine assistance, her mortal form still faced these brutal forces head-on.

The pain was unbearable.

Scarlett's face contorted in agony, but she dared not let go or relax her grip.

If she did, John would truly be left with no way out but death.

Internally, the Dawn Goddess cursed.

Honestly, she despised situations like this, considering them a waste of her power.

She had conserved her energy for so long just to be somewhat lucid, yet now she had to use it all up.
