Chapter 75: Don't worry, I'll do it.
'Eh? The fuck is she talking about?! Don't tell me—' Ha Joon thought to himself as he watched Mordred walk past him.
Mordred, with an unbothered look on her face stood in front of Belinda, staring her directly in the eye.
"Do you have an issue you want to tell me about? Go on, I'll listen." Mordred uttered.
Belinda was quiet for a while.
"There's no issue, I'm just here to see her highness." Belinda responded.
"Her highness…"
Modred smiled a bit, and without uttering a single word, she placed her hand on Belinda's arm before moving her lips close to her ear and whispering…
"I can tell what you're thinking, and this isn't going to be like the other people I overlooked, if you lay a single finger on him, I will kill you, and that I promise."
Even as Mordred spoke, Belinda couldn't help but keep staring at Ha Joon, who had already walked up to Artoria's door.
The moment he opened it during Mordred's threats, Merlin charged out, hugging him.
"Ha Jooooooon! Where have you been darling?~" she cried out, burying Ha Joon's face in her cleavage.
"Uhmm uhmmm hpmmm!" Ha Joon mumbled, his face shoved deep in Merlin's boobies.
"Ahhh~ I thought the goddess came to take you from me… Artoria so mean, she wouldn't let me come check up on you~~"
Merlin hugged even tighter.
Mordred, who had a serious look on her face before, now seemed almost disgusted at the scene playing beside her.
"Merlin, keep that up and you're going to kill him."
Artoria voiced out from inside the office as she walked towards the center table to pick up the papers she had been organizing.
"Oh, Fufu~ my bad…" Merlin pulled out Ha Joon's head from her tits, and then grabbed his hand, "Come in, let's talk." She said before dragging him in.
Mordred shook her head, 'Obviously I can't leave them alone, who knows what else Merlin will do to him.'
She walked in also. And right after her was Belinda.
Once they were all in, they all took parts of the office to settle down.
Ha Joon was seated on Artoria's office chair, while Merlin stood beside him, also reading the papers he held.
Mordred and Belinda sat on the left couch, and Artoria took the left.
The papers Ha Joon had with him were a full detailed list of the country's budget. Every section of the kingdom had their budget down to the latter, he made sure it was fairly splitted amongst the sections.
Not just that, but the Kingdom's income was increasing daily, with more and more production from the mining grounds, sales were basically hitting the roofs.
'At this rate, Camelot is on the track to becoming the biggest nation in Tarvet. Hmph! Honestly, what would any of them do without muah…?'
"You reduced the budget on Military assets and transferred more to civil servants. Eh? Is that actually okay?" Merlin suddenly spoke.
"Why not? There's a lot in Camelot that needs changing, and we can only go about that one by one if we don't want to end up clashing with one another. Civil will help, new water source, academy, and so on." Ha Joon replied.
"I see…" Merlin looked back at the papers.
"And let's not forget the business project we have planned, a lot of money is going to be needed for that to even stand a chance."
Watching Ha Joon discussing the billing plans with Merlin, made Belinda not only puke in her mouth, but also feel a certain type of rage.
"So…why are you here, Dame Belinda?" Artoria fixed her attention on Belinda.
Immediately, she stood up–
"I came to give you the report, your highness!"
"Report?"
"Yes, we have an intruder in the kingdom, I'm guessing it is one of the members of the Red Wings trying to infiltrate the castle to free the other captured one." Belinda said.
Artoria gave Ha Joon a side eye and noticed the weird way he was moving his fingers– she understood the message.
"Do not worry about that, I'll handle anything pertaining to the cult, you are free from that duty." Artoria uttered.
"Free?" Belinda was clearly surprised.
She had never gotten suspended from a mission before, she had always seen it through to the end, but yet, for the first time, her king was telling her not to carry on with a mission.
"I'd like to handle it myself, you don't have to worry about that." Artoria said to her.
"A..light." Belinda looked to the ground with a sad look, before she continued, "I have another message".
"Oh? And what might that be?"
"Pirates attacked the Left Central yesterday night, they took 500 of our civilians hostage, Sir Tristan and the commander have been on the search since midnight."
"What?" Artoria's eyes widened as she jerked up from the chair.
Even Mordred was a bit shocked from what she heard.
"Why didn't you tell me this immediately?!" Artoria yelled.
"We didn't know, I was only just informed by a soldier sent from Sir Tristan." Belinda immediately tried to defend herself.
"Ready the knights, we are heading to Left Central! 500 of my people getting abducted isn't something I'm willing to risk." Artoria walked towards the dummy at the side of the room where she hung her cape.
But as she was about to pick it, Mordred chimed in-
"You don't have to do that, let me do it myself."
Artoria paused, turning around to look at Artoria.
"It's obvious Lord Ha Joon needs you by his side, so I'll find the abducted hostages in your stead, along with my over 40 knights, I'm sure we should be able to find them before night falls."
Ha Joon smiled, but not once did he lift his head to look at them.
The moment Artoria got angry, Ha Joon already signaled Mordred to take over. Letting Artoria get into any type of battle was going to ruin his plans, he needed to avoid that by all means.
"You'd…do that?" Artoria asked to confirm.
And it was a logical response, she noticed Mordred had been softening up to her a bit, and now, she wants to help? It was a very rare moment.
"Yeah, sure, why not?" Mordred stood up from the chair, "I am a knight after all, and you are my king, is that a problem?".
Artoria shifted her gaze to Merlin and Ha Joon, and then looked back at Mordred.
Then she sighed.
"Just keep me updated." She finally spoke.
"Hai hai." Mordred walked out of the room, giving Belinda a side eye before she exited.
