Chapter 36: Why kill beasts when you can kill humans?
Chapter 36: Why kill beasts when you can kill humans?
That thought was very random, yet reasonable. If he kills the robbers, then he can take the food that they had gotten from the hut. There seems to be a lot of food and should be able to last them a few days. Getting work nowadays is hard, and hunting is even harder.
Going to hunt is the same as facing death every single day.
Not that it would not be the same facing the robbers, but it should be considerably safer. After all, these robbers did not look that strong to him, and if he won, he would get food that would last for days. If he lost... well....
[Authors note :
Before you all start scolding me asking how a kid could possibly kill three robbers, listen. Firstly, the robbers are not that strong, that is why they targeted innocent woman and kids. Secondly, the dude has some training in killing level one beasts.]
Ethan did not think much more about it and silently took position behind the hut. He checked if he had any weapons. He had two small daggers and a knife.
He suddenly felt like kissing Arnold, as he always forced him to keep weapons with himself for safety.
The robbers stealthily came out of the hut, looked around, saw no one and started walking away from the hut innocently, as if they had done nothing wrong.
Ethan aimed for one of the robber's neck with one dagger, while holding another in his other hand.
He threw the dagger, and it hit the man below his neck and a bit after his shoulder.
The man grimaced in pain as he growled, and the other two men were alerted that something was wrong.
The thing that Ethan and Arnold had trained the most is their reaction speed and overall swiftness, as it was a necessity while hunting beasts. They would not give you enough time to think things through and patiently plan out what you are doing after you initiate contact. All your actions should be reflexive and instinctive.
This was very useful for Ethan, as he immediately aimed the other dagger at one more of the robbers and threw it at his neck.
This time, it hit correctly, and the man fell to the ground.
He then gave no time for the remaining man as he leaped at him swiftly, drew his knife, and slashed at him.
The third robber had some time to prepare as he blocked Ethan's attack with his sword, drew a dagger into his other hand and slashed it at Ethan.
