Chapter 25
Duke Mayhard seemed to be the same as well, and after a while, he finally spoke.
“Sure.”
“I’ll be going in then.”
Yelena quickly stepped into the office.
As she approached Duke Mayhard, she picked up a guest chair effortlessly and sat down on it.
“What is it?”
“Um…” Yelena hesitated for a while before talking. “Can you give me your hand?”
“… My hand?”
“Yes. That hand.”
Yelena pointed at Duke Mayhard’s other hand, which was not holding any documents.
Duke Mayhard could not guess her intentions and reached his hand out to her as requested.
Yelena grabbed onto his hand, just like what she did to Abbie.
‘I don’t feel anything.’
More accurately, she had felt something.
Duke Mayhard’s hand was slightly interesting.
The skin on the back of his hand was quite soft, and his palm was quite rough with calluses all over it.
‘Ah, he uses the sword.’
Yelena recalled that her husband led a group of knights, fighting off monsters in the mountains even before he reached adulthood.
On top of that, Duke Mayhard had just returned from fighting demons when Yelena misunderstood that she was being ignored by him a month ago.
How fascinating.
‘I haven’t seen him wield a sword yet…’
Yelena had no doubt he would look great with it because her husband had the ideal swordsman’s body.
He was a head taller than most average men, with broad shoulders, long limbs, and taut muscles…
“My wife.”
“Gasp.”
Yelena snapped back to reality.
“W-what?”
“Is there something wrong with my hands?”
Yelena then realized that she had been massaging his arm while being engrossed in her own imagination.
“…”
Surprised, Yelena let go of his hand and looked around the office awkwardly before replying, “… It’s interesting.”
“…”
“Ah, um. Your hand is bigger and thicker than mine. So I thought, ‘Wouldn’t touching it…feel interesting?’”
Somehow, her sentence had changed into a question.
Yelena looked around awkwardly again before grabbing onto Duke Mayhard’s hands once more.
She then placed her palm on his.
“Look, the difference is so huge. Your hand is this large, and mine is this small.”
Yelena was surprised she was able to carry on.
‘It’s true.’
His hand was relatively large.
There weren’t many encounters where her hand seemed this small.
She only had a smaller physical frame, but her hands and feet were not that small.
“I see.”
Yelena let go of his hand when Duke Mayhard gave a simple reply.
Was that an illusion?
The part where their palms met felt ticklish.
“Right, I have a favor to ask. It’s not too difficult.”
“Okay.”
“Will you grab here?”
Yelena held out her arm.
Duke Mayhard hesitated. “… Pardon?”
“I have no strange intentions. I won’t do such a thing here at this time of the day.” Yelena then hurriedly continued to defend herself. “I have my reasons. I’ll tell you later.”
“…”
“Hurry.” Yelena suddenly turned dissatisfied as she said that.
Yelena didn’t bother to tell him the reasons. After all, why would she need to explain every little detail to him?
“No, I can’t tell you the reason. Hmph. Anyway, just grab my arm.”
That polite request soon turned into an order.
Yelena brought out her trump card when she noticed that Duke Mayhard had no intentions to move.
“You still remember, right? You’ll do whatever I want—”
“Okay.”
Only then did Duke Mayhard grab Yelena’s hand.
Though he did it, it was more accurate to say that he touched her instead.
Yelena stared at Duke Mayhard’s hands, which were wrapped around her own.
With the size of his hand, he could easily grasp the entirety of her thin arm.
Yelena suddenly wondered what it would be like if she grabbed his arm instead.
‘At least something like this wouldn’t be impossible.’
She could sense the difference all of a sudden.
Yelena asked, strangely and carefully, “A little lower.”
“…”
“A little tighter?”
Duke Mayhard increased the force in his grip.
However, that force she felt was so insignificant that she might have missed it if she did not pay attention.
Would something change if she asked him to exert more force from here?
Yelena kept her silence for a while before talking once more.
