Chapter 412
Williams Family’s Eldest Daughter, Alicia (Age: 16)
“What, here…”
I froze at the sight that unfolded before me.
“It’s a waterfall,” Sheena calmly replied.
I could tell that much when I looked at it, I thought to myself.
This waterfall was no ordinary waterfall. I could feel a faint sense of magic power. It wasn’t normal magic, either. It seemed to be emitting some kind of “chi”.
The water appeared to be shining on its own, and the air was so clear that I felt as if I was in a different space.
It was as if humans were not allowed to enter such a sacred place. Incidentally, I thought of the place where I met Kii as it also had a waterfall like this.
Several large stones were placed on the surface of the water before touching the waterfall.
While I was gazing at the waterfall in a daze, Sheena crossed over the stones with a rhythmic thump and gently touched the waterfall.
The moment she touched the waterfall, it splitted cleanly in half. She glanced at me and said in a clear voice, “This way,” and went deeper into the waterfall.
What in the world was going on…?
No normal human being could split a waterfall in half.
There were too many questions I wanted to ask, but for now I had no choice but to follow her.
I followed her, lightly jumping over the stones, and entered the depths of the waterfall. The moment I entered, the waterfall closed like a curtain and returned to its original state.
I really wondered how it all worked. It didn’t seem to be magic…. No, but how could something like this be done without magic power?
I tried to think hard to figure out what was going on, spinning my head around and around, but I couldn’t come up with anything.
The only thing I could think of was….
“Oh, by the way, I forgot to tell you.”
Sheena said with a huff as if she had just remembered. I nodded my head at her words.
“Actually, you will die if you fall into the surface of the water spreading in front of that waterfall.”
…That kind of thing should have been said earlier, Sheena.
Sheena explained what she had forgotten to tell me, without showing any signs of apology.
“It dissolves everything.”
She lightly tapped the skin of her right arm twice, pointing with her index finger.
Not a pretty gross one!
I’d still rather have toxins going around my body like the lake in the Forest of Death. It’s just plain painful to have your skin melt away….
“I’m delighted Alicia-sama didn’t fall.”
Sheena said and smiled softly.
…She’s scary, she was; I sensed a different kind of cleverness in her than in Kushana.
If I had fallen, she would have given up on me as being only that capable. I was sure Kushana would think I could pull this off, as well.
I knew I was in enemy territory. I couldn’t afford to let my guard down.
“Let’s keep moving.”
“How?”
It was too dark to see what was behind the waterfall. Even though Sheena was used to this place, it was impossible for me to go through such a place.
Sheena smiled at me and tapped the wall three times. At that moment, the place became bright at once.
Lights were in turn illuminated by what looked like street lamps mounted at equal intervals on one wall.
Then a long path spread out before us.
Again, how in the world did this happen!!
