Immortal of the Ages

Chapter 807: Congregation of Three Divas

“Diva!” Feng Yao stepped forward, her eyes clearing as she beheld the Diva of the Snow Lineage.

The smile on her face faded slowly.

Glancing between Yun Xiao and the Diva, her expression turned chaotic, her teeth clenched in silent frustration, her mind a whirlwind of thoughts.

“Slave.” The Diva’s voice was cold as she eyed Yun Xiao. “The Palace of Melting Snow is not for your treading, step back.”

Yun Xiao nodded, giving face, and retreated.

“Don’t go too far!”

Jealousy overturned in Feng Yao’s heart, her blood boiling to the surface, her skin flushed with rage.

Once Yun Xiao had departed, she approached the Diva again. Her dark red eyes examined the woman, as if to see through her very essence.

“What are you looking at?” the Diva coughed, instinctively adjusting her robe, and asked with feigned indifference.

“You are truly beautiful, Diva,” Feng Yao said.

“To those who pursue the path of immortality, appearances are meaningless, especially to those from the Extreme Yin Celestial Realm who seek the dao,” the Diva replied.

“Indeed.” Feng Yao nodded, though her heart disagreed.

“Moreover, Yao Yao, you are the unrivaled beauty of the Samsara Galaxy. Across the 18 Stellar Rivers, none can compare to you. So, should you ever leave the Extreme Yin Celestial Realm, remember to guard your purity and give no man an opportunity,” the Diva spoke with profound sincerity.

“I understand!” Feng Yao responded, her inner voice sarcastic, “Fine words, but what were you and he doing here just now?”

She could smell something was amiss.

That icy fragrance of the Diva carried a trace of him, unmistakably familiar to her.

“By the way, have you visited the Harmony Divine Pond yet?” The Diva quickly changed the subject.

“I was about to ask you, I was wondering if I could be allowed special entry to the inner pond for cultivation?” Feng Yao asked.

The Diva paused, then said, “With you being in the First Baptism Realm, the outer pond should suffice. In fact, your presence there is already an exception.”

“Is there no way to make another exception?” Feng Yao persisted.

Seeing her earnestness, the Diva replied, “You haven’t shown much yet, making it hard to convince the other lineages. I hear you wish to compete in the Grand Assembly of Myriad Sects; show your worth, and I shall speak on your behalf, making it more justifiable.”

"I understand!"

As the afternoon wore on, the decisive selection drew near, with a little more than an hour left.

"I will have Wu Shang take you to the battle. You may leave now," the Diva said.

"Diva, if I need a Calamity Source..." Feng Yao began.

"Feel free to ask her," the Diva cut her off, seeming eager as if she had urgent matters to attend to.

Humming inwardly with skepticism, Feng Yao maintained a dutiful facade and took her leave from the Palace of Melting Snow.

Once she was gone, the Diva let out a long sigh. She slowly sank to the ground, her legs transforming into a coiled serpent’s tail, the pink and white scales shimmering with a ghostly light.

"What the hell…!" She weakly slapped her tail, leaning against the wall, appearing utterly exhausted. "Even a lowly slave can stir such a tempest within me; if it were a real man, could I even keep my wits?

"Heavens, why demean a woman’s dignity so?"

She closed her delicate pink eyes.

"Once I achieve boundlessness, I can change everything, making the Extreme Yin Celestial Realm truly respected, truly dignified."

Her fists clenched tightly. She would no longer fret about how she succeeded in becoming a Boundless Immortal, only the results mattered!

"Damn this scent." Her body thrummed with the power of the Eighth Baptism Realm, repeatedly refining her form. She needed a new, Upper Burying Heaven grade Calamity Source to advance one step closer on the path to becoming a Boundless Immortal.

Once completed, she would have reached the power of ten calamities.

Before attempting her transcendence, she intended to evaporate any undesirable scents from her body, living in a pure and sanctified dream, surrounded by a satisfying mist of pink and white.

However, it wasn’t long before new disturbances arose outside the Palace of Melting Snow.

The Diva’s pink eyes snapped open as she rose, her tail erect, her stature majestic.

BOOM! The doors of the Palace of Melting Snow burst open.

Two grand silhouettes entered, as if an iceberg and a cold sea had pushed their way in, dividing the palace into three dominions of ice, snow, and sea.

Amidst the frosty mist, a sharp and chilling sword light gradually took the form of the blue-haired Ice Lineage Diva, her demeanor as cold and solitary as frost, her figure imposingly tall and commanding.

In the midst of the cold sea, a figure emerged, her human torso ending in a serpentine tail, crowned with a cascade of dark green hair that tumbled like a waterfall. Her presence was mature, embodying the spirit of boundless seas and great depths, her posture grand and her curves reminiscent of ocean waves, her tail thicker and meatier than usual.

These two, whether in aura or divine might, stood no less than the Snow Lineage Diva, marking them as sovereigns of the Extreme Yin Celestial Realm, ruling above all beings!

Upon entering, the blue-haired Ice Lineage Diva spoke bluntly, "Where is the little devil girl? The 9-Star Boundless Immortal talent?"

The Snow Lineage Diva regarded her coolly, "What concern is it of yours?"

"What do you mean? When a prodigy surpassing all history emerges, you think your lineage can monopolize her? Abandon such delusions. A talent of this caliber requires the full force of the Extreme Yin Celestial Realm to nurture her brilliance," the Ice Lineage Diva retorted sharply.

"Pretty words, but how do I know you won't destroy the child out of jealousy? Your envy is well-known, need I elaborate?" the Snow Lineage Diva countered.

"Enough," the graceful Sea Lineage Diva interjected with a smile, "We are sisters; there's no need for discord. The emergence of such a talent is a blessing for the entire Harmony Divine Palace."

She continued, addressing the Snow Lineage Diva, "We both intend to support the cultivation of a Boundless Immortal. We all know how rare it is to achieve that realm. In this lifetime, she may be our only hope."

"What do you mean, this lifetime has no hope? That's your despair, I still have hope," the Snow Lineage Diva with white hair and pink eyes retorted.

Her words cast a shadow over the Sea Lineage Diva's face.

The atmosphere turned icy.

"I'll say it again, a 9-Star talent is a boon for the entire Extreme Yin Celestial Realm. If this causes a schism among the lineages, it would be a tragic misplacement of priorities," the Sea Lineage Diva declared.

"Whether we split or not depends on you," the Snow Lineage Diva stated.

"Do you really wish to monopolize her?" the Ice Lineage Diva asked coldly.

"That's not my intention," the Snow Lineage Diva pursed her lips, then solemnly added, "She is still too young, her foundation too weak, her spiritual heart not yet formed, susceptible to deception and crooked paths. Therefore, for her first four celestial baptisms, I will guide her personally, as closely as a mother would her daughter."
