656. Lin Fei, the Top-Tier Supreme
656. Lin Fei, the Top-Tier Supreme
Who could have imagined that a mere random realm would harbor a top-tier Supreme? In the Chaos, the term "top-tier" is not thrown around lightly. It signifies a level of combat prowess, denoting the ability to slay other Supremes. Only then can one truly be called a top-tier Supreme!
Those who are Rulers within their own realms count as top-tier Supremes. However, if in the Chaos, those Rulers cannot slay other Supremes, they do not qualify as top-tier.
Despite the seeming multitude of chaotic strong beings, a top-tier Supreme? None were found among them!
"Boom."
One by one, two, three, four, five...
Each chaotic being, all Supremes, were now bursting explosively, disintegrating into dust under Lin Fei's relentless assault. In a blink, the vast Chaos was left with only three chaotic beings.
Lin Fei had deliberately spared these three lives. He ceased his slaughter, and the three chaotic strong beings breathed a sigh of relief, though their expressions quickly grew complex. They clearly understood why Lin Fei had spared them, but they were grateful to have their lives saved nonetheless.
Therefore, one of the chaotic Supremes, with a resigned sigh, admitted, "We have indeed fallen this time."
"Ask what you will," he continued. "We shall hold nothing back."
In such a situation, resistance was futile.
Lin Fei nodded, his voice calm as he inquired, "Who are you? Or rather, where do you come from? And how did you come to pursue the White Cloud Supreme here?"
"My lord, you seem unfamiliar with traversing the Chaos," one replied. "We are all Supremes from various realms, who have come to roam the Chaos. We gathered together because we took on a mission in Kunyu City. This mission offers a very generous reward. The White Cloud Supreme had also accepted this mission, but it seems he discovered some clues about the mission and wanted to monopolize them. That's why we pursued him. However, we did not anticipate that the White Cloud Supreme had the backing of such a top-tier Supreme as yourself. No wonder he dared to monopolize the clues to the mission..."
This Supreme explained everything in detail, revealing the entire story behind their pursuit.
"Kunyu City, huh?"
Upon hearing the mention of Kunyu City, Lin Fei looked toward the Azure Emperor Supreme, who understood immediately what Lin Fei was thinking. He nodded and explained, "Kunyu City is a great city within the Chaos, established by beings greater than the Supremes. Many Supremes and Rulers from various realms often travel there. Besides Kunyu City, there are other cities within the Chaos, but Kunyu is the nearest and thus the most frequented by those venturing from our vicinity."
Lin Fei understood. It seemed that the Azure Emperor Supreme had also visited Kunyu City. As for the task clues mentioned by the late White Cloud Supreme, Lin Fei could do nothing since the Supreme had already perished, severing any leads to those clues. Uninterested in the task itself, Lin Fei decided to focus on what was immediate.
He kept the three chaotic Supremes subdued within his Eternal Realm and returned to the Divine Realm. Lin Fei then sought further details about Kunyu City from the Azure Emperor Supreme. He had begun to notice that his cultivation had stagnated. Even though he absorbed a vast amount of the world's origin, his Eternal Realm had shown little improvement.
Perhaps, he needed sources from True Immortal-level worlds or even the source of entire realms. However, how many True Immortal-level worlds could there be in the entire Divine Realm?
Very few. Moreover, Lin Fei could not afford to exploit these worlds, for they had birthed numerous True Immortals and Martial Ancestors, and even Supremes had emerged from them. At least five of the eight Supremes had originated from these True Immortal-level worlds. Lin Fei could not destroy such worlds.
Furthermore, Lin Fei harbored another concern. Even if he seized all the sources from the True Immortal-level worlds within the Divine Realm, could he truly transform the Eternal Realm into a true realm?
He felt it was not so simple. The transition from a True Immortal-level world to a realm is a qualitative transformation, entirely different from those of lesser worlds or True Monarch-level worlds.
Although Lin Fei was currently capable of suppressing the Dark Demon Domain, he could not eradicate it entirely. The existence of the Dark Demon Domain and its lord remained a constant threat. Who knew what schemes the Dark Demon Domain might have?
Thus, to prevent any future complications, Lin Fei knew he must continue to enhance his power. Only by evolving the Eternal Realm into a full realm could Lin Fei be confident in completely annihilating the Dark Demon Domain.
However, in the Divine Realm, Lin Fei found it difficult to evolve his Eternal Realm. Perhaps only by venturing into the Chaos could he achieve this transformation. Thus, Lin Fei considered this an opportunity—Kunyu City beckoned.
"Azure Emperor Supreme, fellow Supremes," Lin Fei addressed them directly, "My power has plateaued here in the Divine Realm. I'm not even a Supreme yet, and the threat of the Dark Demon Domain persists. I need to become a Supreme to resolve this threat definitively. Therefore, I plan to travel to Kunyu City to venture through the Chaos for a while."
The eight Supremes exchanged looks, then faced each other with hesitation. They were reluctant to see Lin Fei leave the Divine Realm; his presence had been a source of security.
However, as Lin Fei mentioned, the threat of the Divine Realm had not been fully neutralized. The Dark Demon Domain remained, as did its Ruler. What might happen in the future? What if the Dark Demon Domain grew stronger or if new forces invaded the Divine Realm?
Preemptive action was necessary to increase strength and ensure the complete eradication of the Dark Demon Domain for a semblance of safety.
After a moment, the Azure Emperor Supreme slowly spoke, "Lin Fei, your journey to the Chaos to enhance your strength is also beneficial for the Divine Realm. However, no one knows what might happen in the Divine Realm once you leave. Thus, we need an agreement. You must return to the Divine Realm regularly.
Considering the travel time to Kunyu City is roughly a year, how about you return every three years? This way, we can minimize any issues arising in the Divine Realm during your absence."
Lin Fei considered this proposal. It wasn't a problem at all.
"That is certainly no issue," Lin Fei agreed readily. "Regardless, I will return within three years to check on the Dark Demon Domain and ensure that the Dark Demon Domain has no new schemes."
Nodding in agreement, Lin Fei acknowledged this arrangement. Encountering unexpected crises, the Divine Realm should withstand three years. Therefore, a triennial return was entirely feasible. Moreover, Lin Fei's presence alone was a deterrent.
"I'm relieved to hear that," the Azure Emperor Supreme responded. "Lin Fei, you are free to travel to the Chaos anytime. Do you need me to escort you to Kunyu City?"
The Azure Emperor Supreme certainly knew the way to Kunyu City, but Lin Fei shook his head, "No need. I have subdued three chaotic Supremes; they will naturally lead me to Kunyu City. I'll go back and prepare first. There's no need for farewells. I will leave without notifying anyone else to avoid any leaks."
With that, Lin Fei transformed into a streak of light and swiftly flew back to the Divine Realm.
