Chapter 106: Chapter 37: A Nice Date Spoiled.
The small village of Sumika had completely transformed in the passage of a few hours—just before six o'clock at night, Lancelot stood on the stone walls.
He left the entire village with the mystical eastern style, using more wood in the buildings for the tatami mats and lovely images that showed the Kitsune's cute faces with grey stone and various water fixtures that helped the sewage and flow of the river that streamed from the mountain.
"Marimo, isn't this place beautiful?"
Beside him, Marimo's body no longer wore the heavy armour because of his earlier words and had now changed into a light leather outfit that hid her most private areas—however, the fur she knew her master loved was on full display.
"Mast- Lancelot... It's beautiful, but I prefer Camelot, which shows how grand you are with its beautiful citadel and prominent black walls that repel all invaders."
Her beautiful eyes peered at him with an affectionate smile, fluttering her eyes that shone with a hint of blue and green to form a lovely aquamarine, small dots sparkling from the distant sunlight from the dual suns.
"I see... Do you not want to spend some time together with me on this side?"
"Hueh!?"
The moment she heard his words like a cute teen, her face turned bright red when she realized Lancelot asked her out on a date—which made Lancelot smile, finding it even cuter seeing as how her rabbit ears flopped down while her fluffy feet thumped against his armour.
"It will be a date." He murmured and moved behind her while speaking gently once more. "Can you remove that helmet for the time being? It obscures my view of your adorable face."
Hearing his earnest whisper, her rabbit ears immediately shivered before nodding shyly, taking off the faceguard rather than a helmet as she muttered. "Stupid master! Marimo~ doesn't know such a flirtatious master."
Lancelot didn't retort or get mad since Marimo wasn't angry at him due to her shy expression—he smiled wryly, noticing how happy she looked, hiding her flushed face under the shade of her hands.
'She sure looks cute.'
After she lowered the guard, Lancelot carried her princess-style before easily jumping down the six-meter-high walls onto the ground outside the village, surprising everyone watching.
"Kyaaa~ Marimo is being kidnapped! Nobody saves her!"
'Such a cute hare, I want to eat you up!'
{Eat Marimo whenever you want! She is well-seasoned!}
Noting everyone's gazes filled with shock, he brought them far away from Sumika's village by dashing at incredible speeds near the river with Marimo in his arms without giving any explanations—the villagers of Sumika could only look back, seeing their lord's husband disappear with his maid heading towards the area where humans were active and laid claim.
Just ten minutes after leaving Sumika, they arrived at a bustling town where humans resided—surrounding him were rows of shops and stalls that sold many different kinds of products ranging from food to accessories and materials that he knew existed in this world.
"Marimo, you look so cute eating that fried meat sandwich—the sauce covers your lips."
"Mmmm~ wipe it off."
Lancelot's teasing seemed to have worn off, as the beautiful Frost Hare now pushed her lips out towards him, ignoring the looks of the surrounding humans as she blushed slightly, feeling his hand wiping away the sauce before planting a kiss on her soft lips—a scene that attracted others, causing her rabbit ears to twitch upon hearing their comments.
'Why don't they stop looking!? Marimo belongs to Master Lancelot!'
Thump, Thump, Thump
With a loud stomp, her little feet smacked the ground as if to make a dust cloud to hide them, startling Lancelot, who held her in his arms—he laughed lightly upon seeing how jealous Marimo looked, ruffling her ears, much to her delight before making another purchase of what these locals called yakitori kebabs.
"Here's another one for you."
"... This hare thanks her stupid master... However, Marimo likes those spicy ones next, Muuu~ Don't ignore this request."
Marimo became a different woman when they left the city and villages—it seemed like she became more honest and cute when they left Lancelot and his ally's territory and entered territories Lancelot had yet to establish claims upon.
She showed expressions openly that weren't as restrained compared to the usual and demanded whatever her heart desired without being embarrassed, acting spoiled to show her feelings while being more affectionate.
'What a cute hare... Maybe I should spoil you?'
He enjoyed the adorable side of Marimo, wrapping his arm around her soft waist while entering various stores within cities—he purchased whatever the Frost Hare expressed interest in and ate many delicious foods he hadn't seen before in Camelot's area, learning many of Marimo's preferences, listening intently whenever she opened up.
'This hare loves spiced chicken skewers more than sweet desserts... Interesting.'
Smiling charmingly at Marimo's shy voice whispering various things, Lancelot slowly forgot about returning to Sumika after wandering across the town close to his territory with Marimo—having learned so many things about her habits during his travels today.
Lancelot was so happy that time progressed quickly for the pair to enjoy each other's presence in public.
Once eight in the evening came, Lancelot took Marimo back towards Sumika Village, satisfied by today's activities despite nothing but kisses, feeling much closer to his little hare.
However...
A huge group of armed humans were walking along the path ahead of them, and the only thing in this direction was the village Sumika had given him.
"Master... They smell bad." Marimo whispered as her relaxed and happy smile faded and most of her body wrapped in black armour almost instantly.
Lancelot was ready to draw his dragon-slaying sword with the flick of his wrist. He stood ahead of Marimo, stroking her hand as they moved forward.
"Hmmm?"
"Captain! There are people following, and they look like foreign races."
One of the knights at the back shouted to the male at the front wearing red and blue armour while mounted on a black horse despite all the other knights being on foot.
Lancelot, seeing their uniform-like equipment, frowned slightly, muttering. "You're correct, Marimo. Those guys are not good..."
He leaned back, seeing their group halting completely as the leader turned to face him and called out. "You there! What is your business in this land owned by his lordship!"
Marimo stepped forward before Lancelot could speak, "These are my master's lands, you insolent humans. Leave immediately before Marimo teaches you how foolish you are."
They scoffed upon hearing Marimo's threat, disregarding her warning as they laughed while a few drew their blades. However, Lancelot merely tilted his head, saying coldly.
"Marimo, calm down. If they do not step on our domain, we will let them pass without issue—speak your business quickly."
His icy voice made the front knight clench his fist tightly, and many of the men holding swords shuddered uncontrollably—their captain raised his hand, stopping his subordinates while explaining.
"We are under the orders of Lord Svela—we must clear the land of filthy monsters inhabiting it regardless of where they are present, including that village over there! Step aside!"
"Filthy monsters...." Lancelot mumbled softly before his gaze sharpened—Marimo gripped his fingers as she watched Lancelot frown lightly before releasing an icy glare at the group standing before them.
The man on horseback trembled suddenly as the knights stepped back in fear, finally noticing the huge horns that began growing from Lancelot's head.
His black and red wings protruded from his back as dark flames flickered across Lancelot's black scale armour, and the huge scaly tail extended from below his pelvis, similar to a dragon, that began extending spikes and sharp ends—his gentle gaze turned chilly.
"That village you wish to trample belongs to my wife Sumika—there is no leaving, no stepping aside. Pray to the god or goddess you believe in because..."
"I am going to kill you."
