Chapter 581 Almost there
Seara sighed in relief when she saw those three safe and sound. Seadrei was still unconscious, but most of the poison had been expelled from his body. Still, they had a lot of work to do.
With Seadrei now safely placed on a bed, Terra stepped forward. Her healing magic came to the forefront as she directed her power towards the sea emperor. Week after week of suffering from the powerful poison had left Seadrei's body in a state of debilitating distress.
Terra's magic worked with potent efficiency, mending the damage that had accumulated over time. It was a soothing balm for Seadrei's body, easing his pain and accelerating his recovery. Each passing moment brought relief, and the color slowly returned to his once-poisoned features.
Seara also took a decisive step, using the emperor's spear. She summoned her innate water magic. With unflinching resolve, she used her powers to purge the remaining traces of poison that had plagued Seadrei for weeks. She directed the spear's power with precision, dissolving the malevolent substance with the cleansing of water magic.
Seadir hesitated in doing that, but his little sister didn't care less about that. The act of using the spear, an artifact of immense significance to his people, to remove the poison was not without its complications. But Seara's determination and the urgency of the situation left no room for hesitation.
In the end, it was not a matter of choice but necessity. The poison had to be eradicated, and Seara was willing to bear the weight of that decision. As the water magic purged the poison, the grip of the substance loosened, and the debilitating effects waned. The combined efforts of Terra and Seara heralded a new beginning, a restoration of health and well-being for the sea emperor.
When all the poison had been dealt with, Seadir collapsed thanks to the exhaustion, he hadn't slept in several days, after all. Rain wanted to sleep as well, but he kept company with his kids while his wives were busy.
The process continues through the whole night, and in the end, Rain sleeps on a chair when he puts his kids to sleep. When he woke up the next day, he felt like clicking his tongue.

"Men, what the hell!" Rain complained while facepalming. "Two levels! I just had to kill another sea dragon, and I would have pulled it off… maybe I should return there."
Rain tried to fight his greediness… but in the end, he couldn't help it. He was going to reach his goal three months sooner than expected, but the fact that he was still so close to it bothered him a lot.
While Rain was thinking of such things, he went to check things with his wives and Seadrei. They were sleeping on chairs as well while Seadrei was staring at the ceiling.
"To think that I would fall that much…" Seadrei said. "Might as well retire before I bring more shame to my name and my family's name."
"You know what they say, the bigger they are, the harder they fall," Rain said while shrugging. "Still, it isn't very surprising that you would be rescued since I have a big brain and my wives supported me. It also isn't surprising that your arrogance would lead to that kind of incident."
"... As if that isn't enough, I have to be lectured by someone as young as you," Seadrei said and then sighed.
"This is just the beginning, just wait until I ask you money for my services," Rain shrugged. "Anyway, I saw and learned some useful things thanks to this. So, it wasn't that annoying."
Rain took a moment to recount the events that had happened during his unconsciousness. As Seadrei listened intently, Rain delved into the mysteries that had unfolded in the hidden base of the sea dragons.

He began with the discovery of the base itself—a concealed lair that had remained hidden beneath the depths of the ocean. The existence of such a secretive stronghold raised a bunch of questions and suspicions.
Rain also started to describe the suspicious black cube that had captivated his attention. This peculiar object, surrounded by intrigue and uncertainty, had become a central point of interest. The cube's true purpose and origins remained shrouded in mystery, and they were left to wonder about its significance in the grander scheme of things.
However, it was the revelation of the three relics that the sea dragons held in high regard that left Rain deeply curious. These artifacts, seemingly valued even above Seadrei's own life, raised questions about their history, power, and the sea dragons' motivations. The relics had emerged as a profound enigma, and Rain was eager to uncover their true nature and significance.
"... The first sea emperor built our capital after a war with the sea dragons, it is said that he obtained the emperor's spear at the end of the war," Seadrei said. "We never imagined that such an item came from… such a suspicious thing."
"It seemed that the sea dragons valued the entire set quite a lot, but they didn't try to use it, even though they would become much stronger," Rain said. "At the same time, I can understand why… they are cursed relics."
"You have some nerve calling the item that we passed down for generations as cursed," Seadrei said and then sighed. "That being said, I can't deny that even the spear refuses those that they deem unworthy."
What do you think?
